After making an online order, two days later they demanded we email driving licenses or passports. Which no one in the right mind would do, through insecure processes like email. Then they said that because my wife's name is non native canadian it made them nervous. So instead of ordering from a small local independent shop we ended up going to amazon. By far the worst customer service ever! If you don't speak French then forget it! It's almost as if they do not care for your business! Smh Edit: To the owner of Moog, hire yourself a whole new staff! They are definitely inadequate, unreliable, unhelpful and give your location a REEEEALLY bad reputation! I have been in the music industry for over 15 years! I have worked with Moog in Toronto, Steve's music and Long and McQuade! Never did I ever deal with a bunch of unprofessional professionals who can't get a simple ass job done! Last year they sold me the incorrect version of speakers, it took almost year for an installation, once I finally got the installation date, I was told the speakers sold were the wrong ones as they were not the versions that could be mounted! Seeing that I don't speak French I got turned away and told that too much time has passed for an exchange! It took me having my French girlfriend address this issue in order for them to exchange the speakers for the right ones! This was last year November. As I write this review now... lol.. almost 3 months later my speakers are still not installed. It went from chasing dude in charge of their installation service "Martine" to my girlfriend going back into the store and losing her shit on the manager "Francis" to finally get a call back! On two occasions we got random calls from their ppl telling us on they were on their way to install the speakers with no install date! By the time we finally confirmed a proper date in all my excitement to get my shit set up they came with the wrong mounts LMAO! This experience has by far been the worst customer service story I have ever ever witness in all my years of living! The worst! To end this review turned into rant! The manager in all his frustration felt the need to tell my girlfriend that "after us, they will no longer provide installation services to residential customers" which in my confusion I am not sure how being a residential client effected their ability to install my speakers lol. To all my serious musicians who invest their entire pay checks in their passion for music and equipment....Go to Steve's music! They're much more helpful and given I bought my speakers from them, they would've already had hem installed! read more

Why not a 5-star rating? Only because of slightly cramped quarters and one so-so experience with a sales person. The short: One of the best places to shop for synthesizers and modulars in Montréal. The long: Luckily I knew exactly what I wanted and did not waste anyone's time (including my own) trying to get information out of the sales staff. Usually in music shops, recommendations are based on a person's own préférences and not necessarly for the actual product or what it is to be used for. Anyway my own experience has been generally pleasant, hassle-free, and had a great experience even when I had to return a deffective item. They also price matched an item I had found less expensive online (another Montréal-based store) but in general, they offer very competitive pricing. The only drawbacks I experienced were the cramped quarters which make keyboard/synth/device browsing a bit difficult, and once I asked questions to a gentleman in the smaller guitar-bass section and I got the impression of being judged due to my existing gear and looking for rare strings for a specific bass I own. Generally speaking, it's a great shop if you are a synth fan and made more pleasant if you know in advance what you are looking for. read more

Ordered a Meris Mercury 7 from these guys (just under 500$ pedal), on April 5th, 2020, which was defective upon receipt. I shipped it back for a replacement, they told me the shipping costs would be refunded. They never got back to me with an update about what was going on with the replacement/ return, and I never got my shipping costs refunded. The replacement showed up unexpectedly in the mail, April 20th, 2020, and low and behold the box and packaging was not sealed and I'm sure they sent me back the same pedal. The same problem persists and I am quite unhappy with Moog Audio and their customer service. Brodie Chisholm Update upon waking up I remembered Moog Audio registers serial numbers and we can check the serial number of the product we bought through our account on the Moog Audio website. I checked the serial number to the original defective pedal against the pedal I received yesterday to confirm my suspicions and they were the same, they sent me back the same pedal... This entire waste of time could easily have been summed up in one concise sentence instead of having to draw every word out of him as if coaxing him to speak for the very first time. Unfortunately, I had to write an update about this store. Sales services went downhill for the past 2 years. I don't know what happened but not the same experience at all as it use to be some years ago. I was in sales earlier in my career and I would have fired right away the guy who was in the soundcard department today. In sales, you have to value your customer and look sympathetic with them... if it is not in your nature to be like that, at least do it for the money they would spend coming back to you. I went twice in the past year and met 3 sales rep. 2 of those 3 were condescendent and borderline aggressive. I asked a total of 3 small informative questions and I kinda assume that when you spent as much money as I do I deserve a respectful answer. The other one was quite nice I must admit which is why I bought the item I wanted. I bought the rest somewhere else. My advice : You have the right to ask questions and be treated respectfully as a customer. If the salesman is not respectful and arrogant, please go somewhere else. Moog Audio has been unresponsive to my Reverb customer service messages since Dec 06, 2019 regarding some issues with the Manikin Electronic Streely Trons 50th Anniversary Collection DVD they sold me. I even asked their HQ to have a manager investigate and that was unsuccessful. read more

Moog audio. A vast selections of instruments. The problem with moog is the customer service. People who works there always looks too busy to answer a simple question. When you are finally able to ask your question, most of the time the clerk looks exasperated to answer your question. Listen maybe i'm not there to buy a 1000$ worth of equipement but maybe if the clerks were more friendly, I would buy more stuff at this place. But when I go there it's in last resort. So yeah, rich selections of instruments. But lame attitude form the clerks. Pricey too. read more

I went here to get a foot peddle for my electric keyboard the other day and I was impress on the amount of stuff they had. Service was very polite, bilingual (English & French) and very helpful in my opinion. I usually go to the music stores near the old port because it's a lot closer for me but their services were becoming a bit rude along with their prices for my preference. I'm a person who try's to buy local and support our local stores here in Montreal so I do expect the prices to be a bit higher then on Amazon though, I also expect the service to be excellent. This music store had it all. I was also impress that I wasn't over charge on the foot peddle for my piano, which I looked online for the same peddle on Amazon and their prices were almost the same. I'll definitely consider buying my next guitar here and update the review. Thanks read more

Unfortunately, like Martin, the terrible service I received in the non-guitar part of the store was actually bad enough that it inspired me to create an account on Yelp so that hopefully future customers are treated LIKE HUMANS! I happen to be quite well versed in modular synths and was initially very excited to have a chance to describe how they function to my girlfriend in the MOOG shop, since they have a nice one set up. I started to feel one of the salespeople hovering behind me, which given the price of the equipment, I found very reasonable, so I turned toward him so he could ask the obligatory, "Can I help you?", to which I replied, "No thanks, I'm actually just explaining how these work to her (gesturing to my girlfriend)". This would've been a great time for him to either chime in with a bit of excitement about the products and add in a bit of color commentary or simply walk away. Instead, the salesperson continued to hover after giving a begrudging "Well....okay". A minute or so after this interaction, with the associate still hovering, the gentleman behind the counter who appeared to be the other guy's boss gave a deliberate "AHEM" loudly to get my attention. When I looked over at him, he was BEAMING at me with arms crossed in a "get the heck out of here, peasant" stance. I met his gaze, and in disbelief, held it as I walked out the door in utter disgust that a shop owner could be SO CONDESCENDING. It is a huge shame that these two men created such an unpleasant environment, because this place has a ton of really neat things in it, but I would never return and support this business establishment as a result of the HORRENDOUS treatment I received. Hopefully, the self-righteous bald man behind the counter will somehow get wind of this review and change his ways, or just be fired by a superior who owns the shop. Hmmph. read more

I bought a product called a TC-Helicon Voicelive 3 Extreme for a price of $1,058.00. THAT was Thursday 07 May, 2015...which is 25 days ago..the status of my order as of right now is unfilled..."unshipped" and as far as I can tell they still don't even have it in stock yet. 05/12/2015 Ordered Item not in stock - Ordered - Will ship when back in stock "For more info please contact web support - thanks" THAT was FIVE days after I ordered it. on the 16th.. NINE days after I ordered it I sent an email requesting information on the item and told them; "If you cannot contact your supplier and confirm that the item has been shipped or will be shipped immediately or you do not expect to receive it yet this week or do not know when it may be available, you may cancel my order forthwith." On the 18th I received a call from the company assuring me the supplier had shipped the item and they would be shipping it to me within the next few days..so that was 2 weeks ago and STILL on the website the item is listed as "Item not in stock - Ordered - Will ship when back in stock" I would advise anyone interested in buying anything from them to contact them before buying the item to insure availability as they do not indicate on the website whether the item is even in stock or not... and with the experience I've had so far I would recommend NOT to buy anything unless they have it in stock and have confirmed on phone that it is being shipped that day. Within the last month I have bought $20,000 worth of equipment..everything from Intel i7-4790k processors... motherboards.. Ram.. SSD's.. Cases..fans... GTX 970's... 32" 1920 monitors..ANYHOW enough to build 2 high end computers..as well I bought a Gibson SG special...to a Roland GR-55 guitar synthesizer..to a Viewsonic 7820 HD projector... ANYHOW.. sorry for the extended rant.. but my point BEING.. EVERY SINGLE item I have ordered from all the different companies have given me exactly what I ordered in a reasonable time... EXCEPT FOR the SINGLE item from Moog Audio; a "TC- Helicon Voicelive 3 Extreme" ALL have been SHIPPED AND DELIVERED to my house within a 14 day period... Here it is now TWENTY FIVE Days later and the TC- Helicon Voicelive 3 Extreme is STILL NOT EVEN in stock let alone been shipped to me. I wrote an email to them on the 28th of May giving one more weeks grace before I give up, cancel my order and buy it from a more professional and less incompetent business. Given the fact that I can actually purchase it for $250 cheaper at another business I should just cancel the order anyhow but I suffer from an overabundance of graciousness to a fault. Considering the relatively "large" amount I am spending you would think they would be a lot more interested in providing outstanding customer service to keep future business...WHICH I MOST DEFINITELY would have done.. however I can assure you.. that even if it shows up at the door in the next 5 minutes I would NEVER buy anything from them EVER again.. not a single item... not one single pick... There should be an option for ZERO stars! As reading other reviews gives me the impression that the store is staffed by a band of idiots who are intent on putting Moog Audio out of business. read more
