For proof that they don't care about neighbors, today they are cleaning the pool before opening for the season and I was woken up by heavy equipment noises at 6:30 am. The city noise ordinance says you can't start until 7am. I just wish they were held to the same rules that residents are, since they operate within a residential neighborhood & not in a business district. Last year, for the first time ever, they had a live band at the end of the season. They claimed to have a noise permit, though I never saw proof. Still, I asked them to turn it down. The music was rattling my house and they really don't have the space for amphitheater volume level acoustics anyways. I spoke with the president of the pool & requested notice for events like this, because it can really mess with plans if I want to exist on my own property at the same time & he stated it will still probably happen twice a year. I doubt I'll get prior notice since I'm not paying the insanely expensive fees to be a member. In all my conversations with the pool, all I've asked for was common courtesy. And each time, even if it wasn't a mean response, which they have been at times, I've felt bulldozed and ignored because they seem to feel more important than courtesies and being a good neighbor. It's like they think- Gotta make that money. We don't care if you need earplugs inside your own house.

Even though it's a very small strip of sand surrounding the lake, it's definitely enough to call it a beach. I saw a few people walking barefoot on the sand part but most were on paddle boards and kayaks. And for those who don't want to go near or into the water you can bring your own chair, sit under a tree and read a book and chill. It looks like Prospect Park/Beach has it all and I'm so lucky I discovered it! I'm definitely coming back soon.

He just had to put in a new pump, which he did. But when the pump didn't respond as he expected he became very upset, criticizing the previous hot tub guy who put in a new control panel. He asked for a manual for the control panel which I produced in 10 minutes, but he could not make heads or tails of all the "computer crap" in the manual. He spent about 4 minutes looking at manual then spent 10 minutes complaining about the cheap quality of the panel. The panel is a Gecko which has a beautiful website, tons of trouble shooting info and appeared to have a large online community. Anyway, while Jason is a nice guy at first, I cannot recommend him due to his unprofessional behavior (dissing the previous guy who actually did great, dissing the product, slamming stuff) and leaving the job unfinished. I recommend finding a real hot tub repair company with a reputatoin you can check beforehand, that's my plan going forward.

My cousin worked here and recommended that i go visit the facility. A great experience if you are an athlete to go witness how team USA trains. If you are lucky enough you may be able to meet a few Olympians, even better a team USA shooter was the one who took me out to tour the facility.

Only 2 lanes were open for laps, but I only had to share a lane, briefly. There were swim classes, so it was loud, but I don't mind happy sound. ;) I wanted to ride the huge motorized animals they have for the kids. ;P Hot tub was large & nice 'n' steamy. Shower had good water pressure & was hot enough for me (I like it pretty hot.) Very uncrowded on a Thursday evening about 5-6pm (pool closed, I think she said, about 6:30)

But over the last 6 months, staff has implemented a policy where they lift the main basketball goals and make them unavailable, citing vandalism as the reason. I understand the need to protect equipment, but penalizing paying members -- even when the gym is completely empty -- feels unreasonable and frustrating. If vandalism is truly an issue, there are better solutions - increased supervision, security measures, or accountability for the individuals responsible -- rather than restricting access for everyone. After seven years of loyalty, I expect better communication and a solution that doesn't diminish the value of my membership. Right now, it feels like I'm paying full price for reduced access.

Great location on the westside, family friendly environment, and friendly staff - those are just a few of the things that get people in the door. I don't know all the specifics about membership but there is a high dollar (but partially refundable) up front membership fee, and annual dues as well. Members' guests are $5 a person. The pool supplies two massive BBQ grills (could use some new BBQ tools). Nice perk so you can eat what you want and on your own grocery budget dime. Alcohol is allowed (no glass though), that's another perk! Plenty of grassy area for lounging, picnics, and napping. There are two pools: one kiddie pool that has a max depth of 1.5 feet and the other pool has lanes for laps, a 12 foot deep part with a diving board and slide. We went on a Friday evening, it was perfect. Not too many people and a great vibe. Oh. There's a sand volleyball pit too.
