I cannot say enough positive things about this place. Richard did my tattoos. These were my first. I have been wanting this for many years and never jumped until Richard. Richard listened to what I wanted. Took a ton of notes and asked a lot of questions to ensure they were just right during our consultation. I have bad anxiety and wanted something to focus on as a reminded to breathe and push through. We scheduled the date for the session. Day of session was perfect. I did not feel rushed. Richard was very entertaining and great conversation for the hours he worked hard on his artwork. He told me step by step what he was doing. It was very fun watching him work. I did not need any breaks. I am thinking about my next tattoo and hubby plans on going in to add more to his soon. read more

Best tattoo shop in North Florida, bar none! Craig and Richard are world class! My experience with them was rad!

Always a pleasure having Matt work on me. This was my first time at the new location, which was easy to get to and at least at the time I went parking was convenient. All the parking and ambiance aside, what matters most is the art and the artist (at least for me, that artist and their attitude matters a great deal). Everyone in the shop is down to earth, and great to talk to. Huge pet peeve of mine is pretentious artists and bartenders. This shop has some of the best artist I've seen, yet they don't act like they're doing you some giant inconvenient favor, which I've seen from other local artists whose work was actually quite shitty. Beyond UNPROFESSIONAL, RECOMMEND seeking business elsewhere in Tallahassee area. I recorded the whole conversation of this unprofessional call. Tallahassee Tattoo closed and has Monument Tattoo as a reference. That's another story for another day but common sense would have stated let me check my books. Prior to closing to give people an opportunity to rebook elsewhere. Long story short I got my naval pierced and it was crooked. Pierced by Remy. Went back and Roland mentioned he would repierce it to make it straight. Instead of receiving a refund he kept the jewelry and set up a repiercing appointment. Tallahassee Tattoo slacked on providing the correct action for repiercing to their staff. Since Tallahassee Tattoo Company has closed it would only be business like to get it done by the new location they've posted on their door with the closed sign. The "RECEPTIONIST AT MOMENTUM" would not provide HIS name. Went around and around in a circle. Zero business etiquette, not helpful, and repeating himself. The same response with different words does not resolve the issue. Never provided his name even after I asked 3 times. Nor did he provide a number for Remy or Roland. If something gets messed up at Momentum and your trying to resolve something YOU WILL GET THE RUN AROUND. Needless to say I have pushed this to my Lawyer, DONT waist your time for the lack of professional and soft skills. read more

I moved to Tallahassee knowing there were limited tattoo shop options. There are quite a few questionable studios that remind me more of military post shops, but I finally found Monument between Yelp & instagram. Very happy that I came here and I will probably come back for another tattoo in the near future. The shop is very clean and that bathroom is dope AF. The shop guy at the desk was really nice and to the point which I appreciated. It was a little busy when I came in, but they were able to get me in. I had a guest artist who became available first, Mark Willis. He was really friendly and told me what would work and what wouldn't for the space I had on my arm. All of the guys were talking and seemed relaxed. It's a lot different than some shops where you can tell there's animosity or people are just being dickish. Very friendly and clean shop with clean lines. My tattoo has healed wonderfully and very happy. Price was also good for the work that was done. Always remember to tip as well! read more

I went in for a walk-in appointment and ended up working with Mike. Off the bat, Mike was very gruff and abrupt. He had trouble actually looking at me and seemed extremely rushed throughout the whole process. Admittedly, I should have just gone elsewhere when he was the only walk-in artist available, so I will accept that responsibility in this experience. Anyway, he seemed very annoyed when I asked him to resize the tattoo twice, and annoyed that I asked him to move the stencil twice. I understand it can be tedious to move/resize things, but I have several other tattoos (from different people in different states) and every time I have gotten one the artist has been more than happy to resize/move the stencil as much as necessary because, after all, this is a permanent thing. Giving him some benefit of the doubt, I am a white woman and I was getting a small palm tree tattoo, so I could understand if he was annoyed by this "basic" tattoo idea. That being said, I am finishing my PhD from FSU and wanted something to remember my time in Florida since I am from out of state. Even if he was annoyed by the design, it was meaningful to me. Also, he doesn't even know why I wanted it because he didn't really talk to me or get to know me. It wasn't even until after the tattoo was done he asked me my name. The tattoo itself is acceptable and I'm glad I got it, I just don't think the experience or customer service are worth what I paid. read more

I came into Monument hoping to get a botanical tattoo that I had seen online. I made it very clear to my tattoo artist, Robert, that I wanted the tattoo to look like the image I provided him and specifically asked him if he was okay with reproducing a tattoo that was made by a different artist. He assured me that this was okay with him and that the only change he would want to make is adding a thin outline to the tattoo. I agreed to this, paid the deposit, and set an appointment. Once I arrived at my appointment his sketch looked completely different from the image I had shown him so I asked him to draw it again to look like the image. Robert responded by being incredibly rude and condescending and insisted that it was wrong for me as an artist to ask him to copy another artists work - which is exactly what he agreed to do when I paid the security deposit. After this, I felt very uncomfortable with Robert tattooing me because it was clear that he was going to pressure me into getting a tattoo that I didn't ask for. I ended up leaving my appointment without getting my security deposit back and scheduling an appointment with Euphoria Tattoos. If you want a tattoo that looks like a specific image or even something in your head don't get your tattoo done by Robert - he will only give you a hard time and make you feel guilty about asking him to do his job. read more
