Dr. Sheikh is extremely knowledgeable about the human body and how it works. He understands what he can do to help those of us in chronic pain and he will make sure you understand what he does. I thought I was going to live my life in pain but Dr. Sheikh has really helped me to become pain free. Dr. Sheikh has also brought in a new PA, Kristin. I was skeptical at first just because I had become so comfortable with Dr. Sheikh and he knew me so well. Kristin is just as amazing! Kristin is extremely intelligent and knows what she's doing. She really listened to me and was able to make a decision, along with Dr. Sheikh that has got me to a place I thought I'd never be, pain free!! So please read carefully because Dr. DeLara is WONDERFUL. He listens, he answers questions, he is kind, and he is not just pushing pain pills on you. Actually it's the opposite, with all the legislation happening about opioid addiction, he focuses on the lowest possible intervention he can do. There is drug testing, but that is not the office; that's the legislation. If you want to change that, write to David Trone, who is our new county exec! The office environment is fine, but not great, and I have never had any problem with the staff there. The front desk staff is always friendly, though sometimes they are very busy. I have also never waited an insanely long time although I have waited; Dr. DeLara definitely spends time with his patients and doesn't rush you, so that means sometimes we wait. I think sometimes they also squeeze people in who really need appointments. All that to say, if you are having spine related issues, it is worth going to see him! I'm doing everything I can to put off needing surgery as long as possible and he is helping me do that.

Dr. Lee is an amazing doctor who really cares and listens to you. She is very knowledgeable about…read morehuman anatomy and physiology, and works hard to see her patients. If you are suffering from a chronic condition she will fit you in, and she has a great personality. She specializes in helping chronic cases including sports injury, inflammatory disease, and immune syndromes that are rare. No illness puts her off and she will be honest with what she can do for you. What I like best about her is that she does not use toxic medications and is supportive even if you cannot use what usually works for other people. She will work with you until you are well, and if you relapse or develop a new medical issue she won't give up on you. I started off seeing her for Schoenfeld's Syndrome. Even though she was unfamiliar with it she believed me unlike another doctor (Dr. Shafai) at this practice. She treated me to remission in 10 weeks. When I got a concussion in a car accident she helped me through that. When I relapsed due to toxic medication she again treated me again. I cannot recommend her enough!

When I called my insurance company to verify the information, and spoke with her again, she refused to listen, insisted on talking over me and also refused to transfer me to a supervisor. Medical professionals (and I use the term "professionals" loosely) such as Juliana are part of the reason why patients refuse to be seen unless they are faced with serious medical issues. It's bad enough that patients who receive state insurance find it difficult to locate specialists, but to be treated in such a callous and disrespectful manner is ridiculous and sad.
