They're more expensive than other some of the other beer and wine stores in the area. However, they…read moredo offer a few of their wines at prices comparable to other stores. I typically try to buy at Belby's because they always have great sales, but Village Beer and Wine is ok when I want to pick up something quick since it's in the neighborhood. They have few local brews on draft if you want to get a growler.

I'm not overly impressed with Village Beer and Fine Wine. We stopped in randomly after picking up…read moredinner nearby and right away I noticed the store was really small. Typically a small store doesn't bother me as long as there are a lot of options but I failed to find several brands I typically see inside a beer and wine store. We were stopping in for 'malt beverages' and didn't find a lot of options, maybe one or two Mike's and a couple ciders. The overall lack of choices for that department was disappointing but we ended up grabbing two six packs. I will say there seems to be a better selection of wine than the items I was looking for. We totally skipped the wine selection all together but if you're looking for a basic bottle you'll probably find it here. When it came time to check out I noticed that we were spending a lot more than at other beer and wine stores in the area. For that reason I will probably stick to my regular beer and wine store. I also noticed multiple postings about offering a 10% discount if a Yelp review was left... unfortunately cashing in on that discount is completely against the guidelines of Yelp. I passed on the discount to be safe and recommend users do the same.

Ollie, ollie in come free, baby Hey kids, where are you? Nobody tells you what to do, baby…read more I'm just glad that REM was singing about Oliver North and not this place. Ollie's used to be a family owned beer, wine and deli. They had a great selection of beer and wine. But the reason why you came here was for the italian Sub/Hoagie/Grinder/Hero and my personal favorite...the all encompassing...the Foodstick. Ok, I'll talk about the other details first. When owned by the original family...it was dark, danky, it was a little bit creepy to go to, but a time when beer was Bud and wine was Carlo Rossi this place rocked...(they had Mad Dog 20/20, Boones and of course Mickeys). You know you're talking quality here. Ok, things have changed since then... Not much, but the family is gone and so has the love. The selection is better. Not the best mind you...they could carry a lot more craft beer and fine wine, but in this area of Twinbrook (one of the last vestiges of Old School MoCo) it's important to have. Why am I concentrating on a simple sub? This was one of my first subs and one of my first sandwich loves. (apart from a Reuben), but an Italian hoagie is a great way to determine if a deli is truly worth their salt. The Italian Sub is served on Ottenberg's bread. it slightly mealy, soft and airy, wide loaf. The deli meat is generic as is the provolone cheese. It is constructed with Ham, Genoa Salami and Provolone. You get two thin slices each. Basic iceberg lettuce, colorless tomato, pickle, white onion, red pepper vinegar based hots, mayo, and spicy mustard. No Italian dressing, but italian seasonings. (When a deli has to have a picture listing it's possible ingredients.... just leave. Go, and don't look back) I guess that pretty much states all I need to say. It is a disgrace to an Italian sub. Bottom line: Ownership has changed, the beer is slightly better, just don't go there for the sandwiches.

First time I've been to Aldi's in about 15 20 years. Terrible people running the place now rude and…read moresnooty. They don't even sell subs anymore. Do yourself a favor and go across the street to Twinbrook deli delicious subs and great customer service and super friendly unlike Ollies
