I wish they sold cold beer, but other than that, the selection of liquor is top notch.

End of an era. As I'm enjoying my final sub "the old way" I know I will never come back. I've been…read morecoming here since late 90's back then the store was half the size and subs were 2.75$. the lady who never once (maybe one time) had I seen smile made the best cold cuts you could find around here for miles. A week or two ago I came in to get a sub with no onion I've been looking forward to for some time so imagine my disappointment to find onions all over when I got home. Now, for all onion haters out there you know you cannot pick them out the smell is overwhelming literally nothing you can be done the sub was ruined. Today, I came in for a sub and at the register explained exactly what I just did here in hopes they would do the right thing and let me have this one as courtesy. Didn't happen and I'm sad cause when made right they were delicious . I won't be back, my family won't be back my neighbors won't ever come here again and I'll tell everyone who'll listen the saga of my final cold cut. Five stars cause I run a restaurant and I know what this can do to business. Sometimes one just needs to be heard

I had the godfather Italian sub. It gets good reviews so I had to try it. It was pretty good and…read morewell balanced. But for $19 after tax? It must be because of the high lease, insurance, and other expenses to do business here to survive. Try it once but that's enough.

Ollie, ollie in come free, baby Hey kids, where are you? Nobody tells you what to do, baby…read more I'm just glad that REM was singing about Oliver North and not this place. Ollie's used to be a family owned beer, wine and deli. They had a great selection of beer and wine. But the reason why you came here was for the italian Sub/Hoagie/Grinder/Hero and my personal favorite...the all encompassing...the Foodstick. Ok, I'll talk about the other details first. When owned by the original family...it was dark, danky, it was a little bit creepy to go to, but a time when beer was Bud and wine was Carlo Rossi this place rocked...(they had Mad Dog 20/20, Boones and of course Mickeys). You know you're talking quality here. Ok, things have changed since then... Not much, but the family is gone and so has the love. The selection is better. Not the best mind you...they could carry a lot more craft beer and fine wine, but in this area of Twinbrook (one of the last vestiges of Old School MoCo) it's important to have. Why am I concentrating on a simple sub? This was one of my first subs and one of my first sandwich loves. (apart from a Reuben), but an Italian hoagie is a great way to determine if a deli is truly worth their salt. The Italian Sub is served on Ottenberg's bread. it slightly mealy, soft and airy, wide loaf. The deli meat is generic as is the provolone cheese. It is constructed with Ham, Genoa Salami and Provolone. You get two thin slices each. Basic iceberg lettuce, colorless tomato, pickle, white onion, red pepper vinegar based hots, mayo, and spicy mustard. No Italian dressing, but italian seasonings. (When a deli has to have a picture listing it's possible ingredients.... just leave. Go, and don't look back) I guess that pretty much states all I need to say. It is a disgrace to an Italian sub. Bottom line: Ownership has changed, the beer is slightly better, just don't go there for the sandwiches.
