Hands down the best thing I've done for myself mentally and physically! I initially signed my kids…read moreup for classes and before you know it I started taking classes with them also! Master Jordan is AMAZING and she knows how to get the best out of each of her students individually. I also love that she focuses on important life skills for children and young adults. Tiger Masters has definitely become my second home and I love that it also feels like family. If you are looking to build your confidence, become more disciplined, or just simply want to be physically fit, then Tiger Masters is the place for you!

My son started in the Tiny Tigers class when he was just over 4 years old. We've been with Tiger…read moreMasters about 1 year and he's now in the regular class, about to move up to the next belt. We love Tiger Masters because Master Jordan is truly dedicated to teaching Tae Kwon Do. She emphasizes discipline, hard work, respect, and getting it done right. My son is not exactly an athlete but this keeps him active, and we've seen the difference that going to TKD has done for him: he's more agile, has more stamina, and has confidence in his body. I always say he has a love-hate relationship with TKD because it is his hard work, and it's not all fun and games. But when we drive by on an off day, he always wants to go see Master Jordan. And even when he's at school waiting in line, he will start doing his TKD forms. TKD is not just a hobby for him, it's starting to become ingrained in his daily routine! And to me that's priceless. Interestingly, I was introduced to Tiger Masters randomly by a nurse at the hospital, who spoke very highly of Master Jordan. That nurse's child was college age, started with Master Jordan around age 8 or 10, and she was extremely happy with the result, and spoke highly of Master Jordan even after so many years. What I especially love about Master Jordan is that although the classes are in a group setting, she actually knows each child individually. She knows their strengths and weaknesses. She knows when to be hard or soft with them. Ms. Lucia is the Office Manager/Administrator, and she keeps everything organized. We've had bad experiences with Masters that don't have administrative support and everything just falls to pieces. So I can't say enough good things about Ms. Lucia as well; she is the glue that makes the school work! A note on price: pricing is pretty comparable to other martial arts schools -- I know because I visited all of them! We are very thankful to have found Tiger Masters!

Should start off with admitting that I'm a Jiu-Jitsu addict. Further, I'm a small framed…read more30-something male. So visiting other academies can be intimidating. When traveling to Gaithersburg for work, I saw there was an academy reasonably close to where I was staying. Professor Noel was incredibly hospitable and encouraging for me to attend the classes. The academy itself is very clean throughout. The drilling or fundamentals classes were great in that they're both a good working and emphasizing drilling technique to perfection (drillers make killers as the saying goes). The advanced class that I attended immediately applied to something I've struggled with. With the requisite rolling, I found the students calm and technical with their sparring habits. Finally, the students themselves - across the belts - were friendly and inviting. I would definitely visit again as well as recommend Foundry Jiu-Jitsu as a place to train if you live in the area.

I was not trying on to getting back to competing again, but to feel that empowerment and camaraderie among who practice this martial art. Perfect for every skill level. Great and knowledgeable instructors. Wonderful introduction for children to teach them discipline, respect, and being gentle with self and others. I highly recommend this for everyone who wants to be in tournaments, self-defense and fitness.

Beware of Rigid Cancellation Policies…read more If your schedule changes and you can't attend, they'll still charge you. Here's my experience: Due to my return to the office and long commute, our schedule no longer allows us to attend. On top of this, my husband's schedule has changed, and we are no longer able to take our kids to class. When we informed Master Kim of our situation and requested to withdraw, we were told we were still obligated to pay for the remaining two years of our contract. I asked about keeping one child enrolled (thinking a friend can drop her off and stay) but was met with unreasonable terms. Essentially, once you sign their contract, you're locked in, no matter what life changes occur. If you need to cancel, expect to continue paying until the contract term ends. It's unrealistic for us to continue, given our new schedules, yet Master Kim insists we pay even though we can no longer attend. It's been two months since we last went, and they're still billing us. In short: stay away from this company. They're inflexible, and you may end up paying for services you can no longer use/ attend.

Master Kim brings a wealth of knowledge and real-life experience to the table. He relates to children and youth very well. I would 100% recommend Korean Martial Arts as a decent school for families who want to study together and as a way to build a child's self- esteem, confidence and discipline. Spending time as a father in class with my son is priceless and he will remember this time for the rest of his life as he works hard to progress through the training. The price is right and very competitive for our area and the number of classes students can attend to fit the parent schedule is also very flexible.

How they modify the exercises for ALL members is the best part. For me, they give me suggestions to make them more challenging. For others, they'll have them lower the weights and do lower impact exercises to accommodate injuries and level of experience. Every workout is different, which keeps things interesting. The program is motivating and I can honestly say I get in just as good of a workout in 45 minutes here as I would in 1.5 hours on my own in a weight room. It's fast paced, but doable for everyone. The space itself is organized and clean. The members I've met are all friendly and the coaches are encouraging. This isn't an in-your-face bootcamp style gym. No intimidation tactics here! I can't recommend Foundry Fitness enough to anyone who wants to change up their boring, old workout routine or needs an extra kick in the butt.
