We found that this farm fit the bill, with different pick-your-own options depending on season. Apple season had just started, so we headed on over. We first went into the small shop, where we were greeted by a very friendly and helpful young man. He explained how to determine which fruit was ready for picking, and sent us off with our bags to fill. The rows are well-marked, and I was thrilled to see that my favorite apple -- honey crisps -- were ripe and ready for picking. The farm has a large variety of apples -- golden delicious, gala, sweet surprise, ambrosia, etc. -- though not all were yet ripe. The trees were producing a lot of fruit, all of which was easy to reach, so our bags were filled in no time. We returned to the market, where we purchased quite a lot of additional fruits (peaches) and vegetables (okra, giant Marconi peppers, sweet banana peppers, green onions, and eggplant). They also sell other farm-fresh produce and eggs. There are also handmade wooden ornaments for sale. We didn't taste our haul until returning home -- both the peaches and apples taste amazing. Crisp and sweet. Fresh off the tree DOES make a difference! We haven't tasted the vegetables yet. -5-stars for food quality. -5 stars for staff. The gentleman in the store was very engaging, patiently answering a ton of our questions about the farm and its products. -5 stars for value. The prices are competitive with local grocery stores, but you're getting fresher products. -1 star for location. LOL. The farm is two hours away from our home! I wish it were closer to us. We would definitely be regulars there if it were! Seriously though, the location is easy to find, and convenient from Harrisonburg or Massanutten.

They are conveniently located in a beautiful property just a mile from Harrisonburg proper but once you see the farm you wouldn't have thought it is just outside the city. They have been serving high quality bulk shares of beef to their local community for decades and just started to further expand their services over the past year. They repurposed their big red barn to become like a farmstand which opens 2 days a week (and by request) where everyone can buy individually packaged, USDA inspected beef cuts, and they started selling pork and lamb products as well. We've gotten different steak cuts, ground beef and pork, burger patties, and sausages here. We loved them! On most Saturdays, J&Js BBQ food truck comes by the red barn. GlenDor customers can buy freshly grilled GlenDor burgers, or hotdogs, as well as chicken BBQ and pulled pork as they come to fill their coolers with GlenDor meat products. GlenDor Farms also recently started shipping within most of the East Coast! Their packages are carefully prepared and shipped. My boyfriend received his package of about 15 lbs of ribeye, sirloin, ground beef and others within a few days and still quite frozen! (we live in North Carolina) He cooked 'em and I got to try the tender, juicy, melt-in-your mouth goodness of the steaks! Lastly, as I mentioned, their farm is in a beautiful property in Harrisonburg--their farmhouse is situated on top of a hill with gorgeous views of the Shenandoah Valley. If you ever want to experience it or if you are looking for great accommodation when visiting Harrisonburg--you can now stay at their Hilltop Apartment on AirBnB! This is the basement floor apartment of their farmhouse--fully renovated, fully equipped kitchen, and own private entry. On top of the gorgeous view that will greet you, they also give you complimentary fresh eggs and sausage from their farm! Bryce Blosser is really doing a phenomenal job in managing and expanding GlenDor farms as the fourth generation. Overall, I highly recommend supporting this very nice family's farm-to-table business!

I called them and asked if they had pasture raised eggs and they did. This farm stand is so cute and right off of US-33. As soon as you walk in, abundant buckets of colorful fruit and vegetables greet you. Staff was very helpful and answered all my questions. They even have some misfit produce available at a discounted rate. A lady there took a whole bucket of plump peaches home for really cheap. Everything is grown or produced locally which I found fascinating. The blackberries and cherries I got from here were absolutely divine and the non-GMO eggs I got from here also tasted amazing. They had tons of varieties of heirloom tomatoes and had fridges full of locally produced cheeses, desserts and other milk products. As well as meats and baked goods. If you are looking for organic, locally grown and produced food - look no further than this beautiful farm stand.

On Saturday we were having burgers so I decided to slice one of my ($4.00) tomatoes. This tomato was so mushy and so grainy that the entire thing was unusable. It had clearly been refrigerated. People who sell produce fir a living know better. Then on Sunday I was going to eat a peach. This was two days after purchase. Four of my six peaches were moldy and had to be thrown away. I spend a lot of money there every summer but I do believe that is over. The bad produce along with the rudeness of one of the workers I dont think I will ever go back.

They are obviously doing something right, as Bahrat told me that they often sell twelve gallons on a Saturday. His wife Shashma prepares a lovely Poha. As I dug into it I even found itty bitty mildly hot peppers, and what I think were tiny tender lime leaves. On a quick glance this appears to be simple Indian street food which it is, but once you sit down and savor the complexity of flavors you realize that no, it is perfect Indian food brimming with authenticity.

This was a great decision! Our household has just two adults, so we decided to split the CSA with our neighbors (also two adults). It is seriously an overflowing bounty of vegetables, herbs, and flowers every time we pick it up.
