I would highly recommend avoiding this poor excuse of a living space. There are numerous other…read morehotels within walking distance that offer better comfort and hospitality than this place.
The hotel self is very run down. There are many cracks all over the walls, both in the large apartment and the "luxurious" penthouse. The blanket that was provided to my wife and me had a bloodstain on it, which is a literal biohazard. There are parts of the ceiling that lying against the window. The shower is not only rusty, but the screws to the operate the shower are also extremely loose. To top this all off, there is a terrible lingering odor in every area of the rooms, a weird funky chemical smell that doesn't go away. I have attached photos of everything I just previously described to this review.
In addition to the physical problems in every room, the reception during my stay displayed zero hospitality. This bowling ball shaped Caucasian man was the only overweight person I have seen in my week long vacation in this country, an absolute unit. Upon arrival, he did not greet us, and was incredibly rude. My colleagues and I were interrupted multiple times by this person, with various excuses of the "rules" we were breaking.
He first interrupted our night at 2:00 am, claiming that only four people were allowed in a room. We proceed to leave the room, and he came back 15 minutes later, claiming that the music we were playing were too loud. We were playing music out of our an Iphone; how loud can an iphone speaker be? We turn off the music and he comes back a third time, now claiming that we were talking too loud. This tells you how badly constructed the infrastructure of this building is, that apparently someone was "complaining" about the noise is.
Upon this third interruption from reception, he proceeded to call the police on us and evicted my 3/4 of my colleagues at 6:00 am. We asked to see who complained just to have factual evidence that we were poor guests, but the reception refused to show any evidence of actual complaints. This entire experience felt extremely predatory and prejudice. We as 4 gentlemen in the penthouse volunteered to be evicted, as none of my colleagues staying in other rooms should have to be evicted too. However, the large reception man demanded that the women must be evicted as well. Absolutely absurd, discriminatory behavior was displayed by fat man. Of the 4 rooms my colleagues and I booked here, 12 guests were forced to be evicted, despite leaving after the first warning. They did not have any patience for us trying to find a different hotel nearby prior to kicking us out in the early morning.
When my female colleague was rudely awakened to relentless knocking, she woke up extremely itchy. She takes off her shirt to see various bed bites around her neck and back. Just take a look at the photo attached.
My experience may have been a rare occurrence where this rude, gigantic, misogynistic man was having a bad day, but why even risk having this experience. My friends had to walk with their luggage to a different hotel, CitizenM. We were immediately welcomed to modern, and luxurious lobby. The reception here were true professionals, displaying so much hospitality. I have absolutely no complaints about citizenM, there experience there was night and day, and truly represents how the Netherland treats guests.
