We feel such great comfort in knowing that our daughter will be treated like one of their own and will be safe at all times. We transferred from another daycare due to not feeling this same sense of comfort there. We have also seen such tremendous growth in all areas of development and I really think this is a testament to the Montessori style of learning and the school overall. The class ratios are also small, meaning more attention and personalization for each student. As a self proclaimed helicopter parent, I was surprised at how much ease I felt with her starting a new school. The wonderful staff is led by the Director, Ms. Sadhana Arun, who is a smart, loving woman who really understands and implements the Montessori philosophy beautifully. My first clue that this was a supportive and welcoming place was watching all the children race up and hug Ms. Sadhana as each one left for home in the afternoon. The teachers know all the children's names and because all the rooms are mixed age, there is an amazing sense of community among all the children who attend, that I haven't seen at any other pre-school/daycare. Our daughter blossomed at Hilliard Montessori. She gained amazing self-confidence, as well as math, science, and reading skills. She also developed a strong sense of her own ability to affect positive change in the world around her. I also appreciated the diversity of both the teaching staff and the families who attend the school. There are so many cultures, languages, and backgrounds represented. The family potlucks and celebrations were like world travel, without leaving home. My only regret is that my daughter has now aged out of their program and she can't continue to be a daily member of this loving community and learn from such amazing teachers. They never complain on a Monday or any other day about attending. They have grown academically in the most exceptional way. My 5 year old who has struggled with reading has been loved, supported and encouraged right where he is in his progress. All my children have been valued and grown emotionally and matured socially. My husband is hispanic and we have been extremely impressed by the attention given to learning and experiencing other countries and cultures. They have learned more Spanish in kindergarten at NAM and had more fun with it then they ever have at home. I am forever grateful to this school for nurturing my children at this crucial age.

No pictures or updates on child throughout the day or even week you get class update email on Fridays (one pager with 2-3 pics total) Masks were required for all kids '21-'22 school year while most preschools and daycares were flexible. No food options provided. Very hectic pickup/drop off with a line up taking up to 20mins each time. Parents not allowed inside. They make child sit in principal office and not take part in activity/playground if he/she doesn't comply (time out or punishment is not Montessori philosophy) Most reviews and word of mouth in the area speaks to itself for this school (I had heard rigid, too strict, not flexible, not diverse but I still took the chance due to proximity and being the only Montessori within 10mile radius). Now, as a 5th grader we have transferred him to St. Joe's and we are sending my younger son (3) and step daughter (7th). I can't say enough about the teachers, the staff and the community of parents. They have welcomed us with open arms and we look forward to many years ahead. In his initial weeks at summer camp my son came home exited to learn for the first time in his life! So, my research begins, and I call St. Joseph Montessori with high hopes. They are happy to meet with us so I schedule a visit. We toured the school, met with some of the teachers, and discussed some of the differences between the Montessori we came from and their program. They even met with the kids one on one and talked about how sweet they both were. Now, let's keep in mind some things - this school is a) a MONTESSORI...founded on principles of Maria Montessori who famously taught those who were cast off by society. Her methods were meant for EVERYONE. And b) this Montessori is affiliated with a CHURCH. "Love thy neighbor...well, not THOSE neighbors..." After I explain to those I had met with that my son is Autistic, the vibe changes. My child, who 5 minutes ago was "so sweet and funny...really creative!" was now getting pity eyes and the stare. Then, the decision... "Well, now that I look at our enrollment, we are already committed to too many kids in your [Autistic] son's grade and sometimes make exceptions but in this case we just wouldn't be able to accommodate him. (Interesting...you had room when I called to set up the appointment...hmm, that's a mystery) But, we would be happy to take your typical son." I think y'all need to read that Bible again. While you're at it, look up Maria Montessori and what she stood for - THE REASON YOU EXIST. I'll say a prayer for you.
