We had a flat on my wife's car,on December 24th 2024while visiting family during the Holidays. We were I40 in Monterey near Cookeville Tn. When we had to call for assistance. Again it was on Christmas Eve. But We found someone who could come and assist us. Again ,it was Christmas Eve .! We knew the price would be a little higher due to the Holiday Season, but never really thought it would be this much just to watch me in action. So after I changed my tire , and carried his jack back to his truck for him, we were asked if we would be paying with cash, or card. Figureing cash would be a cheaper, and that he merely Watched me change my own tire ,,,well we got charged $100.still.!!! The Good Lord only knows what the card option would have been. The tow truck driver was kind to us but still $100 for some kindness that we should be extending that to each other anyway. Sorry but I'm not sorry for calling these Scrooges " Price Gouging Bah - Humbuggers.!! Very disappointed .!!!

Prices were good! So many beautiful home good things, I wanted to take everything home!!! So clean and organized, the employees were so nice. The bathrooms were huge and immaculate. The BBQ. DAYUM. So delish!!! I loved my brisket sandwich. They're known for their fudge and it didn't disappoint. We bought candy, jerky, pudding, sandwiches, sodas and lots and lots of souvenirs. In my neck of the woods, they don't have boiled peanuts very often, especially Cajun style. I jumped at the chance to fill up my own bowl with peanuts and seal it up with an ill-fitting lid. The peanuts ended up spilling all over the floorboards of the car, giving it a peanutty cajun scent. Mmmm. The clerk here was nice- I bought some Coca-Cola, and she reminded me that I should grab a 2nd one, since they were offering a generous BOGO deal. I also came away with a couple bundles of firewood, which was cheaper to get here than waiting until I entered the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, which this convenience store is conveniently located outside of. Gas was sufficient, and cheaper than we were used to paying for some of the ride. The restrooms were cramped and dirty. They don't let you use it unless you're a customer.

#25/2023 Out with the old in with the new…read moreOld Travel Center it was run down and decrepit over at Cookeville that used to have those great fried bologna sandwiches though LOL and the old Amish kitchen is gone! Same owner got himself a grant partnered up with Travel centers of America that has a new ta Express just built. This is a franchise not corporate owned. A very nice facility when I came in just recently opened days before. A very nicely new pave parking lot for now a beautiful brand new building. Featuring three different fast foods in the food court it has a now open Hardee's, a el tapiato fresh Mex Express similar to like Moe's Chipotle etc. And a full-service Sabarro. Are the general public it has easy access to the gas pumps it's got very clean brand new bathrooms of beer cooler soft drinks moderate size convenience store nice looking selection smaller but still good. It also has a community coffee nice to see out of New Orleans area that you find them further south. They're still working out some bugs in here they got showers I got a scale they got a little TV room. They're also the old rundown shop is going to get reopened again he hopes with a little bit of luck as things progress. I think having the TA name under his belt is going to be a good thing to bring more people in I just hope they don't trash it honestly. I came in and had Sbarro the other day enjoyed it very much. I hope you have good luck with the new center it's nice to see how clean it is right off of interstate 40 easily accessible and on the Long mountain route between Cookeville through Sparta down into Chattanooga.
