All stuff are smiling all the time, they serve the best of the best. They work so hard to make everybody happy. Food is fresh and professional presentation. There is nothing negative I could say about this place. They have everything you dream for your best vacation, for kids too. They have a great kids club with lots of activities and kids dinners with fun games so parents can enjoy their dinners:) So lucky to be coming here for past 5 years. Excellent!!!!! OK!!! It's 2017 and I am back like every year for past 7 years?! Yes, I am blessed. This year I have to say that kids club schedule is shorter and because of hat more kids present at dinner to mess up the self service salad bar and deserts. I literally saw kids sticking their hands bowls of dressings, fruit and salads... licking the serving spoon from the cakes and put them back on tray... disgusting! One of the servers should keep on eye on them, guarding the food and serve the kids. Really nobody wants to eat after kids touch and lick everything!!! If they don't fix this one star comes off. The rest is still so heavenly beautiful!!! After so many years I feel like home coming here.

Prima a recensire! First to review!…read more Elba is primarily uncharted territory on Yelp. Napoleon was banished to this island (poor guy! boo hoo!), and while he definitely made his mark, he didn't write many reviews. I loved Elba. It's a beautiful slice of Earth with some incredibly friendly people. Marcello, the owner of Villa Rodriguez, was one of the most accommodating and hospitable inn keepers I've ever encountered. He would literally jump up and run to get us something we wanted or needed. Granted, my husband and I visited when there was almost no one staying here or on the island (in between Italian holidays, and before the summer rush), but his service and care were nonetheless very appreciated. The beach access and the service were the highlights of this charming place. The rooms were a bit basic, with really cramped showers (or maybe I thought they were cramped because I was eating pasta and gelato almost daily?), and not the most comfortable beds, but Elba is not a place where one should be spending time indoors. It was nicely maintained, and sitting on the veranda with a cappuccino in hand, watching the azure water quietly lap into the cove was a wonderful morning meditation. Capolivieri, the closest town, is a really unique hamlet perched on a hill. It hasn't made many concessions to tourism, and has some delicious restaurants. I working on my plan to get banished here myself-let me know if you have any ideas!

The bathroom was super clean. Ahhh. Hotel is right in the village and we had windows and a balcony overlooking the port. It was in walking distance to the beach and the village. The hotel staff was friendly and and remembered details about us every time they saw us (in a helpful, not creepy way). They had trustworthy entertainment for kids, so that we could leave our daughter for an hour or two on Saturday evening -- essentially free babysitting -- while we strolled around the village. I eat gluten free and the sweet hotel restaurant staff remembered and always brought me a gluten free plate of bread with my meal (not that I wanted it! :) ) and brought me a basket of gluten free pastries to choose from every morning. By only the second morning, as soon as they saw me enter the breakfast room, they swept upon me making sure I had good options for breakfast (again, not that I wanted pastries, but...). And, in general, they made sure every other meal was gluten free and seemed to tell the kitchen staff to watch out for contamination. The only troubling thing I could even think to say about the hotel is that they put us in a suite with a room for our 4 yo that has a balcony that she could access. We were able to work around it to prevent her from accessing it without us, but...kinda dangerous. Overall, clean, spacious, friendly, good food....kinda homey. Did I say clean? I would definitely return.
