Amazing how a vision, creativity and love for beauty can turn a dry mountain hill into a paradise oasis. Located in San Juan Cosalá, The Monte Coxala is a beautiful, high-end spa with breath-taking scenery that follows an Aztec theme with larger-than-life statues of warriors and serpents with thermal baths dotting the property. Reservation was easily made by phone for a weekday appointment (today) as it's less crowded at a reasonable price of 750 pesos/$39 USD per person (all day pass). Upon entering at the resort reception my partner, his family, our friends and I were greeted by the staff. Filled out a form and whisked us in a golf cart en route to spa reception to pick up our locker keys, bath robes and towels. There were about 6 pools filled with spring water that was hot. We ventured inside the back of a giant head of Olmeca into a hot tub. I was shocked to see a passage to an underground Olympic sized thermal water pool. The Infinity pool is out of this world for cooling down with some hammocks inside the cabanas. There's a restaurant called Chac Lan Restaurante that served delicious food and again really amazing views, best on the lake being up so high. The menu was all in Spanish and our server was Juan. For first time visitors that don't speak Spanish it can be a bit disorienting as it's so large. It's a lot to take in and find your way around. I speak Spanish and was able to ask for directions and clarifications. This was our first spa treatment and found this place to be a real jewel with a great vista of Lake Chapala which we can recommend.

The restaurant here has amazing views. I can just sit here and look at the view and breathe the fresh air all day. Had some appetizers and desserts. The tuna appetizers were so good that we ordered it twice. The creme brûlée was perfect - crispy on top, creamy and warm inside. Very satisfied!

Despite originally not having any availability for us, they somehow found a way to make it happen. And get this - on their day off, they opened their doors just for us! That level of dedication and care is so rare these days. From the moment we walked in, the entire team treated us with the utmost professionalism, kindness, and attention to detail. They made us feel welcomed, relaxed, and completely taken care of. It truly felt like they removed all the stress from our busy lives in just a few hours. Every treatment was done with such expertise, and they were incredibly accommodating, especially with the needs of our pregnant friend. We left feeling refreshed, pampered, and so grateful for the experience. If you're in the area--or even if you have to make a detour--this is the spa you want. Thank you for making our trip so special. We will never forget it!

They created a business and opened up their home to the community and the world! They do yoga, sweat lodges, massages. and MORE. The experience I had here was so great that I had to come twice in the few days that I was in Guadalajara. I first got massages with my mom. Bhajanjeet and her husband can essential read your energy from the massage so after the massage, they are happy to talk to you and give you advice and consultation based on Ayurveda. The feeling that I got talking to Bhajanjeet was that she was extremely intuitive - like she knew me deeply after just a 60 minute massage (which was amazing, she uses strong pressure :)). I came again with my sister I think two days later! Their advice and consultation was wonderful and so accurate. Bhajanjeet read into the relationship with my mother, among other things - it was incredible and provided me valuable insights moving forward. I am not into astrology, psychic readings, or anything like that, but I like to read energy and vibes off of people. With Bhajanjeet and her husband, I can tell that they have been practicing this work for so long and that they know what they're doing and talking about. I very much trusted them early on and was open to their guidance, and so happy I was. My sister tried the sweat lodge and had such a moving experience - but I'll leave it to her to explain it :) The services they provide by the way are so fairly priced. I was also extremely grateful that they agreed to see us at late hours - past normal open times! They were very flexible to accommodate us. They also speak English very well. I did not have to attempt Spanglish. :) Highly recommend incorporating them into your trip to Guadalajara! Meeting them was a highlight of our trip.

It must be noted that Green Spa changed locations during the Pandemic (use my pictures for reference). Booking an appointment was easy, and even though it was Valentine's day weekend, we were able to lock in an appointment for two. Upon arrival, we immediately noticed the wonderful hospitality from staff. Everyone was welcoming and had a smile on their face. We filled out a questionaire to help the masseuse provide specific, qualitative service. One our room was ready we were escorted to our room where we were given clear instructions on what our options were and allowed us plenty of time and privacy to prepare. The changing room was warm and had storage space for all our personal belongings. Alas, we were ready and as soon as I rang the bell, the best massage session began. They used a bell plate to commence and end the session which I found very soothing. The masseuse was very understanding and checked in on me throughout the massage. They use a pressure intensity rating system from 1-10 and I thought that was very helpful. For once, I was able to clearly communicate how deep I wanted the pressure. The entire experience from beginning to end was incredible. I will definitely continue visiting Green Spa when visiting Guadalajara. I highly recommend this place to both tourists and locals as you will not be disappointed. Thank you for such a great experience, Green Spa!

I reached out using the "chat" feature on their website and the person who answered who had a sense of urgency without being overwhelming, I explained my intent of gifting a gift certificate, I was able to purchase the certificate for a one hour massage at $800 pesos, the prices of massages do change as they are some sales so I dont know how that will be handled, currently I am so excited to have found this place and will update my review once we have the services. Awesome receptionist!

The "water park" was huge with many pools, slides, seating and restaurants. This is more of a park for children, not huge water slides for adults. Of note, the daily admission fee on their website was not correct (we paid more to gain entrance into the water park, I believe around $23 USD per person. They accept credit cards or cash. I recommend that you bring flip flops (or shower shoes) and your own towels (I believe you can rent towels for an additional fee). You can also bring your own food and drink but NO GLASS. Security will check for glass before entering. If you want to access the spa, you go to the back to pay for the spa area and any requested treatments such as massages. We paid for 2 hours 10 minutes of spa treatments, during which time they rotate you through 6 hot pools (apple cider vinegar, flowers, minerals, oatmeal, treatment of the day (coffee today) and mud). There are also 3 inhalation therapies and 2 steam treatment rooms to enter. They give you purified water and also had some teas that I did not try. I also paid extra for a deep tissue massage right next to the beach, which was very relaxing after soaking in the spa pools. We also had wine and lunch at the seafood restaurant on site and both the alcohol and food were good. Please note, you will be more comfortable here if you speak Spanish. There were a few people who spoke English but not many. This appears to be a destination for Mexican families predominantly. We felt welcome and safe.
