The staff squeezed us in for a same-day urgent appointment and Drs. Lina and Rebecca were so thorough and kind throughout the process. Dr. Lina was emailing us recommendations and assurances late into the evening after hours. We were able to come in the next morning for the extraction and although it was a difficult experience for my toddler, the doctors and staff were so accommodating and supportive. I just want to say that I'm really appreciating Montclair Pediatric Dentistely and especially Lina Paek. We have a number of cavities on my toddlers teeth and it's taking me a long time to decide how I want to handle it. Lina has called me after work hours and had extensive conversations with me over email. She's knowledgeable about a wide range of treatments, and infinitely patient with me as I try to understand them. The last time we were in for a treatment I spent the entire hour equivocating and uncertain and she didn't push at all. I feel like she's completely on my side in wanting me to have every option and really comprehend them. She also has clear SDF, a new treatment that not all dentists offer. She explained my son's current teeth health and went over preventative maintenance. I'm a first time mom with a ton of questions. She gave me the answers and tips that I needed to carry on. Dr. Rebecca was patient and kind with my two year old. This was his first time at the dentist, so he was scared and resistant. The entire team made him feel comfortable and safe. At the end of the appointment he did not want to leave. The team is welcoming, we were offered coffee/tea upon arrival. They have a beautiful play area for the kids. Since I am an asian female and better in Mandarin, I wanted to find an Asian doctor who could speak Mandarin to treat me. I was fortunate to find Dr. Hsieh. Not only is Dr. Hsieh sweet, caring, loving, and considerate, but she also speaks fluent Mandarin, which made me feel very secure and comfortable during treatment. While treating me, Dr. Hsieh patiently explained each step of the treatment, which put me completely at ease knowing that I was in good hands. Dr. Hsieh is highly professional and efficient. As any parent can attest to, caring for children in general is difficult. Now imagine trying to care for your children's teeth, with needles and drills! We love Dr. Paek's warmth and gentle demeanor. She explains everything to your child using age appropriate terminology and also reiterates the whole treatment plan with the parent. No detail is overlooked in her office, from the materials she uses in treatment to the décor in the practice. Apparently, Dr. Lina is also well versed in treating children under sedation and also has hospital privileges for treatments under general anesthesia. I would highly recommend MPD! We took our two kids there for the first time. My three year old had been to two dentists and both bad experienced where I thought he was just always going to be afraid. He was instantly at ease in the space and the dental assistant made him feel comfortable to where he even tolerated a teeth cleaning. My 18 month old had his first appt at the same time and he also had a great time. The space is great - clearly lots of thought and care went into making it comfortable for kids and the dentist gave helpful clear feedback that didn't make me feel shamed as a parent. We had a great experience at her new office. My kids had previously seen Dr. Lina at a different location, and they wanted to continue seeing her as their dentist.
