The food was amazing! The eggs were so fresh and clearly from happy chickens. Further, the blackberry tart was the best pastry I've ever had! I highly recommend it! read more

We tried the traditional rose flavor, rose with almonds, custard, raspberries and some other flavor i can't remember now. They were all delicious. The first time we ordered was when the paczki were fresh out of the oven maybe no more than 20min. The dough was warm and chewy and the filling spilled out once you bite into it. so yummy! Even though t's a small place and easy to miss but 9 out of 10 you'll notice a line forming outside of it's display and cashier's window. Takes credit card is a plus.

This place sits along a more busy street which sets the ideal spot for people watching while sitting on one of the window nooks. Very pleasant and snug environment. As for the baked goods, I wouldn't say they were anything to write home about but the friendliness of the staff and the spacious and warm atmosphere of the cafe makes up for that. This is a place where taking bites of a pastry while taking the day slowly a sport and I'm here for it. I ordered 4 items since I had to try everything that the worker recommended (I there's always a time to snack on them later).

I got my meal for like $9. The wheat roll -- can't stop talking about it. Run here. It's just off Nowy Swiat. At this hour of the day, the selection of bread and pastries was rather limited (which is understandable) so I tried the "pain au chocolat", croissant, and regular "baguette". The "pain au chocolat" and "croissant" were both good although they could have used a little more butter in their preparation. On the other hand, I was disappointed by the "baguette": it lacked sponginess and felt dry. You might argue that this is due to the fact that it wasn't bought fresh out of the oven in the morning. But anyways, a good "baguette" should still be good at 4 p.m. and is usually still OK the next morning. I don't think I'll be going back for their famed "baguette" as there are other bakeries/shops (e.g. SAM) where you can get good bread in Warsaw. All of these undoubtedly won't be using flour imported straight from the Fouché mills in France but seriously, who cares ? (Nice marketing though)

This seemed to be effectuated also by means of the menu--which included supposed ashkenazi specialties such as The Pastrami Sandwich on a Bajgiel and The Goose Liver Pâté on Toasted Chała. However, Charlotte Menora also boasts the menu of the regular Charlotte cafés located elsewhere in Warsaw and several other cities of Poland. The food was mediocre--hence the three stars. The "Śniadanie Charlotte" was decent, although it remains unclear why this remains All The Rage in Greater Poland. Unlike other locations, here you are presented with an assortment of spreads--truskawkowka, czekoladowa biała, czekoladowa czarna--and an assortment of bread slices, including a singular croissant. The breads and spreads are good, but, I'm sorry, what makes them special? Can I not walk into any bakery or any Biedronka and get something comparable? Now, now, now. As for the pastrami sandwich on a bajgiel. The bagel was fine. The pastrami was edible although somewhat subpar in flavor and texture. And low in quantity. The sandwich overall was a small meal. A very small meal. Although for a price of 11 zł, it was reasonable. The "Śniadanie Charlotte", on the other hand, was 18 entire złote. Ask yourself now: Is white bread in itself a substantial and nutritious and filling and wholesome meal? If the answer is yes, you may find yourself and your body deeply enamored with the foods of Charlotte Menora. I'm not really sure how the Jew theme fits in. The whole idea of a Jew themed restaurant in a place with little to no human relation to the jewry of the world is vaguely problematic. But I'll choose to ignore this. I would be willing to return to another Charlotte location, but the Menora was subpar. The petite chałki did look moist and glutenous, though. But I didn't try, so I'm not sure if it's a TRICK.
