I'm normally that person at tax time who buys the particular piece of H&R Block software that I…read moreneed and does my own taxes. It's never been that difficult for me (probably partially because I did work a season at H&R Block in another life), though admittedly it does tend to take a chunk of time and that small nagging feeling in the back of my mind hoping against hope that I didn't mess up and I don't get audited. This year, however, I had a few special concerns dealing with real estate and I knew that finding a CPA to answer some questions would be a good move. We found Rob Haertel (head of Tax Accounting Corporation of America) on the UACPA (Utah Association of CPAs) website and after narrowing the search down to a handful of prospective CPAs, checking online reviews, and making contact with everyone on our list, we decided to go with Rob. We liked that he has been in the business for approximately 40 years and that he could answer questions dealing with small businesses and real estate (he is also the president of Capital Assets Financial, a mortgage lending company). Rob was very professional and pleasant to work with. I was very satisfied with the way he went through the tax preparation with us and made sure that we knew what he was doing and why, giving us useful information along the way. He spent as much time as we needed to answer all of our questions; and, despite the fact that we were there longer than anticipated, we never felt rushed or pushed out the door. I definitely got the feeling that Rob genuinely enjoys the work he does. Tax Accounting Corporation of America specializes in: Tax return filing and tax planning for individuals and small businesses LLC formation and tax return filing Corporate formation tax return filing Nonprofit formation and tax return filing Financing for individuals and small businesses Estate planning Asset protection planning I would definitely recommend Rob to anyone who is in need of any of the above services. As I mentioned before, I found him to be pleasant and professional, but also honest, conscientious, and knowledgeable. I will absolutely continue to use Rob's services in the the future.

I was super excited, this is my first year officially filing. I had spoke with one of the secretaries and they let me know they weren't having anymore face to face appointments and to drop off my documents. Today I came in to drop off my documents and I didn't have the best experience. I had already been sitting for about 10-15 minutes in the waiting room before a man came in & was helped immediately and what sounded like a face to face appointment. After sitting for another 5 minutes I finally approached the secretary office thinking maybe they didn't know I was there. I pushed all my social anxiety out of the way and approached the office like my brother recommended only to be looked at like I interrupted a family dinner and was bothering with my presence. The chubbier older lady on the left proceeds to look at me and tells me to go sit back down and someone will be with me. I was only dropping off documents, she wasn't doing anything. How much work could it have taken her? I work in a finance company, when someone comes in to sign their loans. If the person who isn't there to finalize the loan at the time of the appointment or walk in, we don't leave the customer waiting we take the information they brought in, take copies..etc. I understand if it takes them more time and effort to get up and greet/attend people but if that is the case maybe the front desk should be opened for them or they should have a system set up on how to know when a customer has ALREADY been waiting because obviously the little ring bell on the door isn't cutting it. This will fly over a lot of people's heads but it's 2024 we should learn how to have BASIC customer service and kindness looking as there is enough hate in the world already. This is a reminder to myself and them because I didn't look the best either but that first impressions are everything and if that's the first welcome I got I promise I won't be back again.
