Love the outcome but the process was terrifying. My stylist Kayla very sweet person and friendly but her technique could use some improvement. To begin I didn't like how messy she was while applying the color to my roots there was dye all over the salon wall when we finished. Then at the wash station no massage as stated on their website, in fact it had to be the worst part because of her heavy handedness. She super rough. This process is suppose to be relaxing where you fall asleep but it was the opposite. I even mentioned she was lucky I wasn't tender headed because the way she was separating my hair was even painful. After the wash again we go with the rough hair drying I'm surprised my head is still in tact considering all the quickness to dry my hair and quickly passing her fingers through my hair. Finally the COST! Goodness I've never paid over 200.00 for my hair. I almost thought I was in Buckhead. Their website states 128.00 and UP. Yea I get the up part but not over 200.00! I was told I was paying for each toner that was used, but I'm no stylist but that automatically comes with the ombré procedure shouldn't be extra. Only to come home to color on my face and clothes. Again I'm satisfied with the ombré outcome but the entire process is what is disturbing for the ridiculous amount that was charged. The website should be updated and also mention that each stylist has their own charges. With the mislead from the website and torture I experienced physically and financially I'm back on the hunt for a hair salon.

I visited two people, one a trainee and the other a consultant (Shawn McWhirter with All Tangled Up, LLC). After attending each lady's consultation appointment and receiving starter locs from each, I decided on Shawn. I picked Shawn over the other lady, not because she is certified and the other lady is a trainee, but because Shawn provided a much more thorough consultation and educated me. I had my SLs installed about 3 months ago and I love them more and more each day. I am so happy that I decided to get them and to get them installed by Shawn. She has given me tips and tools for care, been accessible, informative, comforting and an overall joy to be around. I highly recommend Shawn to anyone considering or who already has Sisterlocks. She cares about and gets to know each of her clients. PROS: Homey salon with free wi-fi, snacks and TV. No overbooking or rushed appointments. Easy parking. CONS: I believe she's getting a little too popular. As her availability is less open. Bad for me but good for her.

Shawn did my establishment and I was a faithful customer for many years. As time passed on, she became greedy and wanting to add more clientele than she can manage. The first red flag I should of paid attention to was when she jammed me right before my wedding. I had to find someone else because she was "overbooked". I still went to her for another two years and gradually her attitude became so unbearable, it was like she was doing me a favor in taking my $175 every 5 weeks. She was the first and only SL consultant I went to and although she has recognition on the SL world, her work has become very sloppy. She is only concerned with taking your money. The last straw was recently when she finished 3/4 of my head and told me she had another client. She advised her assistant would call to schedule me. That was 4 weeks ago... ultimately I made the decision to do the big chop after 4 years and I feel so much better. I'm very spiritual and can feel when negative energy is around me and I got tired of carrying it in my hair. I love Sisterlocks and will list likely get a new set in the future from someone who has the time and attention to give to their clients. If you are looking for a stable consultant that you can go through your SL journey with, All tangled up isn't it. This is coming from a long time client... Find someone else.
