New candy shop to Carrefour Laval. Actually Squish as I was told is a Montreal based company. The…read morepremise here is high end candy. $6 for a small bag or the promo when I was here was 3 for $15. Many options were available and samples were provided behind the counter by a worker offering to taste test. Many of the candies offered are gummies. I know what you may be thinking. You can get the same high sugar octane candies at Bulk Barn, Couche Tard or Jean Coutu for half the price that they sell here. Yes folks.....you sure can. However the candies here have a different taste than the run of the mill Bulk barn Swedish berries or gummy bears. To me actually taste fresher and better. This is for one person who used to buy gummy bears and cola bottles by bulk at BB. However Bulk Barn is most likely the cheapest in QC to purchase candy. Then.... I discovered Haribo gummy bears. You pay more but I believe quality and taste is like a party in your mouth. Haribo does claim to have invented the gummy bear in Germany many moons ago. Back to Squish they are trying to conquer the market of premium candy. The store is bright and there is lots to check out if you are a sweet tooth. They have spent time on aesthetics such as a fresh clean store design and modern upscale looking packaging. Of course this is needed to convey an upmarket image. Excellent as a gift or stocking stuffer or co-worker (that you like) gift. Go for the 3 for $15 deal if you so desire and if available. Squish away.

I've been to Montreal many times, and have walked around where this shop is, but never actually noticed Candylabs. I only discovered them when my brother and sister-in-law got me 2 packs of candies from them as part of my Christmas present. The candies they got me were so cute. They were shaped like little sushi rolls and even came with mini chopsticks, lol. The ones that looked like Futomaki were strawberry-kiwi flavour. The ones that looked like Salmon Maki were grapefruit flavoured. The candies were crunchy and really tasty! And so cute! In addition to their bricks and mortar store in Montreal, they sell their candies online as well, which is how my brother and sister-in-law bought them. I went to their website, and the candies are a bit pricey, like the sushi candy bags are $6.99 each. However, they are handmade and they source most of their ingredients from Canadian suppliers. Apparently they also make custom candies. Which I imagine would be great promotional materials for companies and also the cutest wedding favours for couples getting married. Looking forward to a time when I can go back to Montreal and go to the bricks and mortar store and check out their candies.

The store is very colourful and inviting. The staff is really nice and they give lots of demonstrations. They will let you have a sample of you aren't sure which flavour you want. My personal favourite is peach. I think it's sweet and tasty. It's a great spot to get a cute candy gift for someone or a treat for yourself.

Came here after seeing Sour Bites blow up on TikTok--and wow, this spot is something else! The vibe…read moreis immaculate. Super aesthetic and cozy, with Instagrammable decor that totally lives up to the hype. The menu is massive if you've got a sweet tooth: caramelized fruit, tanghulu, chocolate-covered strawberries (I had the one with Tartinade Mordjene--delish!), crepes, waffles, fun drinks like "Choco Crack," and so much more. I gave the pistachio chocolate bar a try too--tasty, but for $24.99+tx, it's definitely on the pricier side (I saw a similar one at Jean Coutu for $15.99). Still, everything was super fresh and flavorful. The only downside is it gets busy fast, but the staff were SO nice. They didn't rush me and even let me take videos. Can't wait to come back and try the rest of the menu.

I initially never wanted to try this, but my sister really wanted it so I went to grab it for us to give it a try. I went on a Thursday afternoon, when I got there there was a few ppl but you can't really know where the line is to order, I was there way before other ppl arrived waiting and other ppl were served before me. I felt like there was no organization. That was a sign for me to leave but I ended up getting a big box of sour bites because that was the only one that contained the pineapples. All I could say is that it was way too sweet, there's nothing sour about the candies, they give you a bottle to add more sour if you want too but the bottle was pure sugar nothing sour about it. There's nothing wow about the product they are selling, you can't even taste the fruit because the coating is way too sweet. Don't waste 25$ use that for another local business. Also the girl at the cash told me to put it in the fridge, a few hours after being in the fridge the candy had melted off the fruits. What a waste of money.
