As an adult I found the selection of animals to be pretty nice. You can go inside the bird aviary and one of the monkey pens so you can get up close. I thought that the giraffes and hippos were beautiful. Lots of flamingos and other birds to see as well. there were many educational Displays throughout the zoo to teach the children and adults more about sustainability and the natural habitats where the animals came from. I understand that they have a breeding program. there is also a nice display with dinosaurs including a merry go round and play area with the jurassic Park theme.

Small cages, and the larger birds like Hawks and Eagles are chained to the ground. At first we didn't know that the birds were chained down until we saw an eagle try to fly up, and quickly fall back to the ground. Horrifying to the kids.

However, the upgrade in spectacular animal enclosures is remarkable. An enormous variety in animals in great settings with different viewpoints at different levels. Not the biggest zoo, but absolutely fantastic.
