I haven't written a yelp review in ages. Maybe there is a direct correlation to bubbletea intake to my yelp reviews. Anyways, bubbletea has arrived in Wiesbaden.... ahh finally!! I've lived here for 5 years and I haven't had any success with finding bubbletea with the exception of when we travel. Monchitea opened on the last day of May. My friend and I went opening day. I was like a kid on Christmas morning. The pearls were soft and slightly overcooked, but it's better than being undercooked! Maybe they were still working out the opening day kinks. I ordered the classic "original" bubbletea. (Number 14- black tea with milk and sugar.)
Be mindful that this bubbletea place isn't like the traditional bubbletea shops with the bubbletea shaker, ice filter, and the bubbletea plastic sealer. The downfall is you get a TON of ice in your cup and the beverage is not premixed for you. I would recommend asking for less milk and less ice. (See picture) The bubbletea beverage is provided to you in a relatively thick plastic cup and there is a cover for the top with a designated straw insert. It was slightly annoying that the ice got in the way of all the tapioca pearls. They have a plethora of drink options with different tapioca pearl flavors. It definitely looked too fruity/artificial for me, so I will stick to the traditional taiwanese flavor. I guess it's a good to have options for people though. Beggers can't be choosers. I will definitely be back. After all, I am a bubbletea addict.
I can't comment on the food because I didn't order any, but based on my observations-- they offer have some banh mi sandwiches and snacks available too. I follow them on instagram, so you can check out the different sandwich options there.
Seating- it's a small little shop. Don't expect a lot of seating. There were some seating available outside because it was warm out. I doubt they will have that available in the winter time. There were maybe only 6 seats available on this inside.
