The historic Romanesque monastery isn't over run with tourists, in fact only a couple of over educated French visitors kept us from being alone. The tranquility is ancient and wonderous. It's one of the most unique and informative museums I've ever visited, very much worth venturing off the proverbial beaten path. Take the metro to the Palau Reial stop on L3 and be prepared to do some uphill walking. Past the American Consulate (the walls are impressive). One of the most unforgettable places I've been lucky enough to visit.
