So here it is 2026 and the sales guy told us that we would see a drastic change in our electric bill and he was absolutely right! This was the first time we ever had a true up bill. I was overjoyed. Not only that but we have had the air running all weekend and it's a wonderful 89 degrees inside the house. The air coming from the vents is 86 degrees! These people need to go out of business because they have quite literally destroyed my faith in anyone working on commission. Tech was very nice and respectfull, did what he was suppose to do took pictures changed my filters and cleaned the coils in the condensor outside, I scanned a QR code for review and gave him a 5. That was before I noticed my AC wasnt turning on. HOWEVER he shut off the AC to clean the coils and forgot to turn it back on, I noted that after he left my condensor / fan would not turn on. MY AC was working fine before the TECH came. So I called but got that AI Dane not helpful So now I have an appt tomorrow to resolve. Also I had my appt rescheduled twice. read more

I guess I should've known better--once again. My review from 2023 still stands, and here I am in 2026 feeling just as disappointed. After my 2023 review, customer service reached out in an attempt to make things right and offered services I couldn't pass up: a free A/C inspection and a cash credit for future use. During that visit, the installer pointed out several "high-cost" items that supposedly wouldn't be covered under the free inspection, so the credit had to be used to address those issues. After that experience, I didn't look back or consider using Monarch Home Services again. That changed when I started receiving multiple text messages advertising a "free tune-up." Against my better judgment, I agreed and scheduled it for today, 1/23/2026. I even left work early to be home. Then I received a call saying they needed to reschedule because their installer ran into issues that would take all day. What a joke. Customer service seriously needs to do better, because years later this company is still delivering the same disappointing experience. At this point, the most consistent thing about Monarch Home Services is the disappointment--at least that never needs rescheduling. read more

Monarch gave a completely different assessment of electrical situation that showed/registered phantom charge on the gas line and had me sign a contract for $2,500 to repair non-existent electrical problem. They also checked other outlets throughout the house and indicated that my house needed outlets rewired. read more

These people will try and up sale you and when you say no just do the service they break your AC unit. My AC just needed a service home inspector asked for to sell our house. They tried to tell us we needed a capacito, my wife asked is the ac still workin? supervisor said yes. My wife does it still blow cold air? supervisor said yes. my wife does you know when the capacitor will fail? supervisor said no. My wife said do the service that's all the inspector requested. Because we didn't take the $495 capacitor all of a sudden our AC won't cool under 80. This place is a scam.. 2hrs after this post.. I guess I didn't hit share. But I went out just to look at the ac unit.. I notice a black plug looking thing in the middle of the fan on the ground. I guess they were trying to sabotage my unit. Monarch is such a scam!! My parents fell for their okie doke and has to pay every time they come out!! My parents are elderly,got their warranty and still pay hundreds of dollars every time they step in!! At first I thought this company was good but the work they did over $300 on my unit only lasted one week, for the $49 they advertise special to clean and evaluate my unit. They did not clean it at all. I had to hire a real professional and he took pictures and showed me they didn't clean my unit whatsoever. There was still leaves in it. They didn't even screw on the top that well they left it unscrewed in and he just pulled the top off right away, the real professional I hired just put coolant in for me, which is what I asked Monarch to do the very first time I saw him, but the technician guaranteed me that I was not short on coolant, however, my new technician showed me that I was 2 pounds short, think God I had my own R 22 and he didn't charge me, but I initially called Monarch to hire them for the $49 advertisement plus I'd hire them to add my own R 22, and after $300 service charge for a new capacitor that they didn't even replace, I was going to recommend Monarch to my friends, but no way I found a real professional who does not take advantage of the elderly or women, this guy is incredible. Especially if you're elderly or a woman do not hire Monarch for anything. The younger guy totally scammed me and dud didn't Dong is job nor did he replace any parts he charged me for .. so disgusting . Was having issues with air flow and called them to come check out the system. They were able to fix a capacitor that was about to go out. Dominic and his associate were very attentive to our needs and showed us pictures of what was going out and after they fixed the problem. They were also able to come out the same day. Their service techs are qualified and good. The sales manager, however, will oversell on things not needed. Replaced two ac units with another company that cost me $29,000. Monarch wanted to charge me $45,000. Monarch also tried to tell me my ducting needed replaced ng at $40,000. That was my necessary as the ducting was tested and certified ok. I would have spent $85,000 with them. Luckily I got a second opinion and spent $29,000. read more

Tried giving Monarch one last shot since we had one service left with them. Once again I'm left disappointed but glad I will no longer be doing business with them and have found a professional who isn't going to lie to get us to purchase/repair things that don't need repairing. Gavin was nice and friendly but I don't know how they train and their expectations of their employees but it seems as if they're expected to sell parts. I was quoted over $6500 in repairs. Mind you, monarch has been the only company to ever service my AC/Heating since we bought the house in 2016 brand new. Do not fall for these people and get a second opinion! Have been using the services for the last couple of years for my AC needs. I have been shopping around for AC services for the last 3-4 year in Visalia. IMO pretty pricey services and AC systems. However, in-person customer service is great. Over the phone customer service routinely scheduled wrong days/times for me. Unfortunately two of my units were not working well. Monarch replaced both my units. Salesman: Mario - personable, years of experience, great to work with, made sure my concerns were addressed. AC installers: Vida, Miguel, and Eric were a pleasure to have. Minimal damage to the house when installing the unit. Professional and got the work done. They were very personable and friendly TLDR: reliable but pricey. Wish the prices were much lower read more

I should've read the reviews. They came out to do a service at my rental property and called a supervisor to try to tell me that my ducts were installed to code for California but not local needs since it's so hot in Bakersfield. They asked me if I had an hour to talk about the various repairs needed on my unit in order to optimize its performance. I then went on yelp and realized they always seem to want to replace ducts and charge thousands of dollars. Mind you my unit was functioning well and I just called for a service. I almost booked them for my other home but changed my mind. Something was off putting and based on the reviews it's not the first time this happens. Replacing a capacitor or motor would be cheaper than reducting my entire home. read more

Our system was diagnosed as having high static pressure. We recently replaced our attic furnace with a heat pump but did not replace the ducts. The Monarch team suggested larger ducts. They finished the job in one day and corrected design flaws in the existing system. Pressure was reduced and air flow improved. They agreed to eliminate several tasks that were not needed reducing the final cost. We are pleased with their work and recommend them to others. read more

This was a terrible and disheartening experience. I requested an estimate for a new air conditioner, that still worked but was struggling. After the "nicest young man" went in the attic, he told me that before he could actually look at the unit, I had a big problem because the airflow ducts were too small for the unit. I didn't have a reason to doubt him until his estimate was $50,000.00! So many red flags. I could write a novel on how many times he came up with another story. I'm glad I knew better. Today, another company said only a burnt wire on the unit needed replacing. Beware. read more

No Stars! I found another company that checked my AC and told me that Monarch drained 4 pounds of refrigerant from my AC! And the duct work they claim they did, was never done! We used this company because they were associated with Costco when we bought a new AC unit 4 years ago. Recently our blower motor stopped working. They told me it was because our ducts were too small and it would cost $10k for more duct work. When I told them I only wanted the blower motor replaced under factory warranty, they quoted $4k for labor. That is almost what we paid to install the entire unit. I posted a similar review elsewhere and got almost an immediate response through the platform. We STILL have not heard back from a SINGLE PERSON. The follow-up is SCARY non-existent. We DO NOT know if a pest control person came out and fixed the issue. We were told if it happens again, it is on US to pay for the repair. No one came out - so whose fault is it when the super schmoozy sales "supervisor" promised the pest control would come out on HIS dime, but no one ever came. They come to your house ensuring great customer service and from there it's downhill on all aspects. We've had TWO MAJOR installs with them and it's like after the big bad sales guy comes in and scares you into thinking you're poisoning your family with insulation, everyone after that completely ignores you. Somehow our monthly insurance subscription got cancelled, so we have no idea if we are still eligible for service because NO ONE WILL CALL US BACK. We've called literally dozens of times and every time we're ensured the same supervisor who sold us the system will call back. It's been 7 weeks. I'm gonna recommend you shop around before letting them work their sales, family friendly magic on you. 0/10 will return. I DO NOT recommend them anymore. read more
