Easily one of the best and most famous surf shops in OC. The original location opened in 1954, and…read moreas I understand it, it is known to be one of the world's first retail surf shops. I myself am from Southern California, so I'm all about Southern California history and surf culture, so I knew I had to stop in and check the items. The store itself is pretty large and has all different sorts of gear and clothing. The staff was also very friendly. It's in a large shopping center, so there's a giant free parking lot attached right in front. For this visit, I found some clothing items that I wanted and spotted some more gear that I planned to come back for in the future. I would definitely recommend to anyone in the area, and it's especially awesome to see they have many different brands as well as Orange County merchandise that you can only get here as well.

The flagship store of my favorite classic surf brand is out of there most iconic gear in the middle of Winter. I think someone in purchasing or merchandising, or logistics or store management needs a good talking to! All was not lost, the girl manning the register was so friendly and helpful. She apologized and tried to interest me in something else. Then she suggested I check the warehouse in San Juan Capistrano. I did. I found exactly what I wanted at 40% off. I was so happy I added a lid and t-shirt! The store was very nicely laid out. It was clean and cozy on a mid winter night. We walked across the parking lot for a quick dinner at Hennessy's Pub. They had live music and yummy sliders.

This by far is my favorite Costco. I purchased six hotdogs, one for each member of my family. Where else can you spend less than $10 and feed six people! And then I drove up to go fill up my tank with gas. Additionally, I'm very glad that they offer Coca-Cola right now. And for those who don't like soda, there is now bottled water. The newest item outside is that those chicken strips. - I can't wait to try those.

I have been coming to this Costco for nearly 5 years now and in that time, I have had numerous amount of interactions with flat out rude employees. This morning, my son and I went grocery shopping and it was early so they were not packed at all. We finished grocery shopping and we get over to the self checkout and the lady at the self checkout, which is empty by the way, let's all the customer in front of me go to a register and stops me and doesn't even give me the option to say no. She says " I need to scan your items." in the last month alone this has happened three times. I don't know if it's because I have a young child or if because most of the clientele at this Costco are older. I genuinely feel discriminated against, and it bothers me a lot. I really don't want to drive to Aliso Viejo because I go to Costco on a weekly basis but I think their policy should be made clear. Do only older people get to scan their products? Is it because I am Hispanic? Or is it because I have my child. My grocery bill was $120, and I had 7 items. I don't see any reason why I should not be allowed to scan my own items. I should get to choose if I want the help or not. I will be calling the store manager and see what they say.
