I'm going to talk results. I love what the other reviewers before me have said - it definitely…read morereflects my husband's and my great experience with Zina's classes (we opted for the one that spans several weekends). Informative, empowering, respectful, approachable, individual, caring, encouraging. But, at this point I've had my baby. I had a natural (no epi, no pitosin, etc..) birth at a major hospital. It was an amazing experience (seriously) and I owe that in large part to Zina's teaching and guidance. This is how Zina's classes helped: 1. My husband and I had learned what was happening at different stages of the birth process, and could make informed decisions once we got to the hospital, we didn't feel like we were being told what to do and instead were an active part of the decision-making process. 2. I felt confident and excited, instead of apprehensive and scared (if left to my own devices, I'd just feel scared). This made such a difference. 3. Probably the biggest difference was that when the time came, my husband and I were a team. It's natural for a partner to want to help, but oftentimes it's hard to know how, especially with how birth is portrayed in movies. Zina's class gave us a 'toolkit,' and having those options and ideas at the ready for when you don't really have time to think was key.

These 5 classes just flew by and I did not expect to learn this much. I feel prepared and empowered to help my baby come to this world. And this is not just me, my husband absolutely loved this class and feels like he can really help and that we can do this as a team- all three of us I highly recommend this class, Zina is a great teacher and overall an amazing person. I feel so lucky to have found this class and if I have any issues with breastfeeding I'll know who to call!

She is exactly who you want to have in your village when you're navigating the first hectic days, weeks, and months at home with a newborn. She is a wealth of information but doesn't give unsolicited advice. She is reliable and an excellent communicator. She goes out of her way to make sure you are comfortable, and you will quickly learn that your baby is in the best hands (besides your own) while Martha is providing overnight care. We were beyond lucky to work with Martha and would recommend her without hesitation.

She's also perfectly happy to hold the baby while you shower or do errands. I was beyond impressed by the breadth and depth of her knowledge about babies and "mom life" in general. I couldn't have gotten through the postpartum period so successfully without her. Do yourself (or your daughter, daughter-in-law, sister, granddaughter, friend, etc.) a huge favor and hire Martha as your postpartum doula. You will be calmer, better-rested, and a more confident mom because of her!

I would choose this school time and again due to their outstanding quality. I wanted to secure private lessons and his school seemed perfect, offering 20 min privates. I was "yes'd" during the orientation process and explicitly said that I was not interested in anything zoom related or group. Simply targeting 20 min privates and happy to pay. My payment info was taken from me and we attended two group lessons after the main instructor conducted an evaluation on zoom (even though i was told this would be in person) and insisted that my son should be in group. Group was fine- we didn't get much out of this. Following Xmas break, i reviewed my banking statement and saw that i had 2 109 dollar charges in one month (we went to the school twice for 20 min group lessons). Solid mark up! I disputed the charges and had a conversation with the director of the school where she told me that i would not be charged until we re-review my son and find a private option that's not zoom. Since the school went to zoom lessons and because my son is young and won't get much from zoom sessions, we opted to wait out the "covid season." Just saw that I was charged 109 dollars again.. so that's $350 dollars for 2 20 min group music sessions. Lesson learned on my end.. pay as you go is the only option moving forward. I have since disputed all charges with my bank and will re-visit at home privates down the line. I am sure this is a wonderful school for kids who are older and engaged in music but my personal experience as a parent requesting a simple private and consistent unauthorized charges was not ideal .
