We didn't have much time, so we breezed through. Mostly because I underestimated how large the shop really is! There's truly something for everyone here. This shop is a mix of antiques, gifts, and Christmas items. Collectibles, beautiful items to admire, greeting cards, and lots of ornaments and decorations. I can't wait to bring husband back to actually spend some time and money! The best part of Hixsons really is the story behind the founder and the new owners. We chatted with Matthias' girlfriend who was so welcoming and friendly. She told us about the history and the vision they have for continuing Bill's legacy and we were so touched. Stop in soon and select a gift for a loved one or take home a treasured European glass-blown ornament for yourself. It's sure to get you in the Christmas spirit!

The store owner was so nice that I knew I would come back if anything I wanted was in her shop. I remembered she had puzzles so I came back to get some. I believe the max she had was 1000 pieces but the designs are really cute. I ended up leaving with 2. If you want to support a small business, you should come here and see if she has what you're looking for!

I miss the stores of old filled with models, trains, cars, and rockets. The owner was in the store and was more than happy to reminisce with me about our childhoods. Also, at a time when the store was full of of hobby items. So why five stars? I'm not sure about anyone else but for me service is key. This is one of those places where even though he wasn't going to make a sale he treated me like I was purchasing a million dollars with of gear. So at the end of the conversation i asked if I could come back and hang out and he said I could. So on my way out of the door I was informed that he could order anything I want and he will work with me on pricing. Really I'm buying local just for the customer service.

I enjoyed my first visit to Doki Doki Kawaii Shop in early May 2026. A friend had invited me a few hours before she was heading out there so I gladly met her there. The shop has plenty of Asian inspired things. I saw a bunch of manga comic books, Pokémon items, Japanese stationery items (notebooks, highlighters, pens, etc), plushy toys, keychains, etc. I bought a cute 100-day notebook that was light green on the outside. It can be used as a planner or a diary. I can't wait to delve into it and maybe use it to track a goal or two for 2026. The store employee was friendly when I walked in and answered some questions that I had. I wish they sold more stationery items. They had a limited supply of planners and notebooks of different varieties. I will definitely visit again to browse more Japanese stationery. **** GOAL of 250 reviews in 2026 - 74/250 total reviews in 2026 - 915 total Yelp reviews - Reviewed on 11 May 2026

I went one time when there was a crafting event going on and that seemed super fun. Prices are kind of high for the items but Japanese things usually are.
