Had them do a move out "deep clean" yesterday and when I came by to inspect the job they left so much dirty that they claim they clean in their services. Floors super dirty and foot prints/ streaks everywhere. Toilets still dirty. Counters still have stains and the window seals were not cleaned which they told me they'd do in their services. Not to mention I paid $552 for this deep clean service. If I knew this was their standard I wouldn't have chose them to begin with, never again. read more

I'm bummed that we had a bad experience with Molly Maid based in Orangevale, Ca. They were recommended by a neighbor. We had a walk through with a kind woman. She asked questions and looked through all of the rooms. I explained that dusting was the priority. She indicated that would definitely be taken care of and was a standard part of the initial, "deep clean." She quoted a time range and price range: 3-4 hours, $360 ‐ $480 (see picture). My husband called to let them know there was a key under the mat to get into the house, but no one would be present. On the date of cleaning, we picked up, clearing the floor and counters of most items. I got a call while at work - they said they were waiting outside to be let in. I reiterated that there was a key under the mat. That was the last thing we heard. When I got home that evening, the house looked pretty clean, but there were visible cobwebs and dust on the ceiling fans, doorframes, blinds, etc. Dusting was absolutely the priority and not done. I received notification of the charge the next night, and it was nearly $100.00 higher than quoted (see below). I called the following day to inquire why the bill was significantly higher. The woman answering the phone said, "Well, this was a deep cleaning." I explained I had a clear quote and price range. She said, "Well, it took them longer." Not an answer. I then explained that they did not address the priority - dusting. She said, "Dusting is a primary part of the deep clean. If you were dissatisfied, we would have expected you to call immediately after the service. Then, we would have sent the crew back. I see no record of that call." I responded, "This is that call." She sighed and said something about maybe they would send someone to look or check the dusting, but it was standard. At that point I realized they hadn't communicated within the company, hadn't completed the "standard" requirements, certainly hadn't addressed my request, had charged significantly higher than they stated they would, implied it was my fault for not "immediately" demanding they return and finish the job they were supposed to do, and possibly implied I was lying about the dust (see attached photo). We hired Molly Maid because they are listed as licensed and bonded... which we found out isn't entirely true because they are not bonded. The cleaners who came used our Dyson vaccuum and it is now broken and we're unable to use it. When we confronted the business owner, she denied her maids using the vaccuum but we witnessed them using it and haven't used it ourselves since before they were hired. We now have to file a claim since this is a very expensive vaccum. Aside from that, the maids would come at different times than what we agreed upon. They also missed entire sections of the house, didn't empty some trash cans, and left the toaster oven and microwave uncleaned. It was a very disappointing service and I would beware hiring them since they are not honest with their business practices. read more

We decided to try Molly Maids after receiving a mailer coupon. The people were friendly, but that is about where the positive ends. The initial deep clean had rooms skipped and kitchen tile floors not cleaned very well. Follow up cleanings were not any better. We brought it to management's attention, but nothing improved. We were overbilled for the first two cleanings and after bringing this to their attention we received a credit on the third cleaning. After no improvement in quality we decided to cancel. Overall the cleaning service was average. Two employees showed up on time, masked, with supplies and ready to go. Floor was vacuumed and mirrors were cleaned. However the results aren't worth how much I paid. All surfaces weren't cleaned, nor all my kitchen appliances. I was told top to bottom service but no walls were cleaned in bathroom. They even wipe down the doors and kitchen cabinets. They clean all the walls that can be wiped down. They disinfect all the handles to the doors and knobs to the cabinets, they clean the out all the trash cans and disinfect them from germs, they never over charge me . I contacted this company to have a property cleaned on a Friday after a tenant moved out. The agreement was for an hour and a half cleaning. After they "cleaned," I inspected the property and it was obvious that they barely cleaned the surface. At that point, the cleaning crew was gone. Corners were dusty, ceiling fan was dusty, countertops were filthy, stairway was dusty and the list goes. I contacted them that Friday, but they were closed. The Call Center answered and stated that they could only take appointments and was told that they would send a message to the office to contact me. I never got a call. I called again and was told that the manager, Sara, would call me back. At this point, we drove almost 2 hours and made sure that the property was cleaned before the new tenantsmoved in. After a couple of days, Sara called me and offered to clean the property. I explained to her that the new tenants already moved in. Sara mentioned that they needed to pay their workers and offered only a 20% refund, despite sending her time-stamped photos with dates. I do not recommend this company. Didnt want to do it, but I had to give my credit card number before they would agree to go out to clean. Said to insure against late cancel. I was desperate as it is hard to find "deep cleaners". Charged my card the cay after they went out, without advising me first. Charging a credit card without permission is against the law. I had not even time to check their job. Charged $450 for perhaps $200 worth of cleaning. Gave them the opportunity to go back and do the job they charged for. Instead of actually cleaning , Angelina gave me excusses why they couldnt do what I had asked them to do. Not only no deep clean, but not a good basic cleaning. If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. Where do I start.. Initial phone call- spoke to a nice guy who originally quoted me $125-$180 for a 1 bed/ 1 bath apt. I agreed and they got me in within a week! Second phone call after reading reviews- I spoke to Sara and had to REQUEST for them to clean all of the kitchen drawers and cabinets inside. Normally they just do outside? No problem she put it in the notes. Day of work- they called me after completing my apt which i had asked and appreciated that. I stopped by after work only to find that the bathroom was decently clean, the mirrors and counters were still dirty. There was debris in the kitchen cabinets and counters and the floors were still dirty. There was still dust all over out lighting fixtures and none of the base boards were cleaned. Mind you, they claim they have a move out check list to go off of, which is crap. I called to complain and they sent out another crew the following day and did a better job. The part that pissed me off, is there was blue stains left in the bedroom. Mind you, this was a move out clean and my husband and I have not lived in there for a few weeks already AND THERE WAS NO BLUE STAINS BEFORE THAT CLEANING DAY. As I complained about the stain, Sara immediately got defensive and claimed they don't use ANY blue cleaning solution because it stains and all the cleaning solutions are clear or light brown. But that she would check with the girls who cleaned and get back to me. Sara NEVER got back to me. Day they came back to reclean- my apt looked and smelled CLEAN. They did do a good job after the go back. But low and behold, a BLUE cleaner was accidentally forgotten from the cleaners and was ironically left in my bedroom by the stains. HMM, kind of funny that Sara claimed they absolutely don't use blue cleaners and here is this blue cleaner. I couldn't help but laugh when I saw that. After all of that, we had to turn our keys in with a stained blue carpet and when we asked for money back for the damage, Sara said NO because they supposedly noted the carpet was stained in the walk through prior to cleaning and that we didn't notify them within 24 hours of the cleaning. BULLSHIT. Then how did I request the go back? I have phone logs to prove. Oh and by the way, our quote of $125-$180 ended up being $270.00 . So they basically denied the stains and said to have our apt complex contact them to discuss. WHY WOULD WE HAVE THEM CONTACT YOU, IF YOU ARE DENYING THE DAMAGES. This is a scam business. They will quote you 3 plus hours at a lower hourly rate for the first cleaning and a higher rate per visit for all future visits, regardless of durations in theory. In reality, they will try to stay just about an hour for all future visits and only do the minimal. For reference, my house is about 2,700 sqft of new build, very few furnitures. What they really do each visit is just superficial wiping of all flat surfaces and tidying items up. They don't even wipe the vertical surfaces, not to mention all the nooks and corners that you would expect a paid cleaning service would do. And this happened with me being at home watching them every time. I can tolerate the constant late appointments, even the random no shows, but the cleaning is just too terrible to stomach. I tried calling the office and changing up cleaning teams but neither helped. When you call, good luck with Angelina at the office. She handles existing customers and strives to provide the worst service. Never reachable, always in a hurry to hang up, and won't call you back when there are no shows or questions. My tenants used Molly Maids for their move out clean and the work performed was in short disgusting. I know the workers are paid minimum wage and have only 3 hours to clean. ( information given to me by my own house keeper who have friends that work for Molly Maids). Even still, the kitchen floor was sticky, windows were not cleaned , junk in all the cabinets and greasy hand marks, oven not fully cleaned, under the sink was just forgotten, yellow grimy tile in bath room, soap scum, faucets and sinks full of gunk. baseboards not cleaned, walls were not even touched. Outside of appliances looked to her wiped down with Armorall to look clean but right over tape left by the tenants. The list goes on and on. I have had to hire another company to come in for the tile cleaning and another to redo the kitchen. I cleaned the windows and walls. Find anyone else not this company. Why did I not check Yelp first? Shame on me. Yelp should allow zero star reviews. This is one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a cleaning service. When I first called and booked the appointment to do an estimate, Rachelle was very courteous and assisted me with getting the owner, Jason, out to look at my house. Jason showed up, did an estimate and said the house was in great condition and the entire clean would be completed in the time allotted. I trusted that he was a great businessman and had a grasp on his business. I definitely know that is not the case. The first time the ladies were scheduled, they called me to let me know they were running late. So how does it work that they're late to my house and I'm the first client? Things happen, and no big deal. Well, it's a big deal when they didn't finish the clean. I was left a note saying they didn't have enough time to finish and hope to finish the next time. What?! I called Rachelle, explained the situation and she stated that the next time, the ladies would finish the clean and there would be no issues. She was also confused as to why they didn't complete the clean. Up to this point, I never had a problem with any cleaning service finishing the clean. Then, the service comes back 2 weeks later. The doors to both bedrooms are closed because we like privacy because we have a roommate. (Just note - the doors were closed the first time as well.) I get a note with smiley faces saying they didn't clean the 2 bedrooms or our master bathroom because the doors were closed AND they ran out of time. As far as the rest of the house, the clean was not complete. What the heck was going on? ($90 to clean a house that's already super clean and you basically cleaned for a hour and didn't finish, BS.) I called the owner, sent him an email and scanned the note from the ladies who cleaned my house. Rachelle was good with speaking with me, but only after I called several times. When I told her I needed resolution, she stated that the owner was sorry and gave me back my key and money. I was in no way belligerent to the owner or the staff and just wanted an explanation for what happened. Rachelle chimed in "it's national Molly Maid policy to not go in a room when the door is closed." I asked her well, then why did they go in the bedrooms last time? No response. Jason never called me back or emailed me. I got a letter with my check and check stating they have used this as a learning lesson and have changed their policy about going into rooms. It's sad, because as a business owner, I would think he would have wanted to rectify it, instead of making his manager be the go between. Especially when he gave me his business card on our initial meeting saying I could contact him anytime. After the 2nd terrible clean and my wanting to correct the situation, he was "in a conference call" all morning and never called me. Cancelled after using over 8 years. Just clean your own house..really it's easier than dealing with this company. Today we decided to be done waiting for them to show up..this is normal for them. Like so many times before I called the office to find out if they were coming as the arrival window has passed. Office: "We changed your arrival window and called you yesterday to notify you." Me: "No, we were not notified and I need to cancel todays service." Over 45 minutes later I am leaving my home and the cleaning crew shows up..the office never told the crew I called almost an hour ago. I cannot tell you how many times I've heard the same story. There is no communication.. if the employees are late or do not show up to work...you will only find out when they do not show up at your home. We have weathered ownership changes within the company, employees in our home who were there to clean asking us how much we pay Molly Maids (the employees get a percentage of each cleaning)..so if you have a good price on your cleaning do not expect the employees to do a thorough job. We had one too many no shows..one time it was due to the employees getting a fight with each other (as told by former owner)..yeah these are people you willingly let in your home. You cannot keep the same cleaning crew. Under old mgmt we knew them by name and took care of them during the holidays to show our appreciation. Since the new ownership it seems they cannot keep employees so you get who shows up that day. We have had former disgruntled employees starting their own cleaning business showing up at our front door wanting our business (this happened several times) I should have replaced them years ago..my fault. But wanted to share so others could save themselves time and frustration. They do not care about keeping your business and it shows. Unprofessional does not begin to cover it. read more

I had Molly maid come in to clean an empty house. I specifically needed windows, window track, floors bathrooms and kitchen. Karla did great in the bathroom but the other girl did a terrible job. I should've inspected before they left. It took me two hours more to clean once they left. There were cobwebs, dirty window tracks not clean at all, they also did not clean the sides of the windows, around the edges of the floors were not clean, the refrigerator and freezer was partially cleaned, the kitchen cabinets were partially cleaned the dishwasher was not cleaned at all on the outside. I could go on and on. I spoke to Angelina who claims she was the manager offered 10% to be credited or they could come out this weekend clean it up. She was very rude! This is a house I am selling. My realtor was coming to take pictures so I did not have time for them to come back. I will be calling my credit card company and doing a charge back for services not rendered! read more

They send two girls and for some reason one of the girls is no longer with the company I wonder why... I've never hired a cleaning company before, I ended up speaking with the owner Sarah at the Orangevale location. So initially I had high expectations. The owner made me feel like it was going to be amazing. I let her know I've never hired cleaners prior. I have moved ALOT!!! I always get my full deposits back. So I am very experienced. I was also a professional cleaner myself for a good chunk of my life. I let Sarah know that I am very particular as a result. Sadly my expectations were not met. The communication was an issue from the beginning. I let Sarah know I was moving back into my own home that had been rented out for a year. I was living 4 hours out and was hoping to be kept in the know. You have to give a cc so if you cancel less than 48 hours it will be a $152 charge seems steep. I was told it was just to hold the appt. I could use a different payment if I wished after the service. Since it's covid I expect companies to go above and beyond to show appreciation, especially if it's a small business. First thing, they didn't show up on time. I also was given no updates or notifications of start or completion. Mind you this was to cost me $300. The estimate they gave was $200 to $400. My husband wanted to save money and go with a Groupon. I mentioned beings we own a small business struggling through covid, I would prefer to support small and local. I didn't see the results for 3 days. In the interim there was no follow up or phone call. Upon inspection I felt a lot had been missed. So I called to let them know. C. J. was very nice and cordial. They promptly sent 2 ladies back out who didn't seem to know what they needed to do. They mostly spoke another language. Which is not an issue, I just didn't know if they understood me. They were sweet and nice enough. They were in and out in 35 mins tops. However I ended up having to redo the cleaning issues myself. I scrubbed the shower myself, as well cleaned all they missed. Whatever they used for my laminate floors the first time left an oily finish. I have since cleaned them 4 times it's still an issue. I didn't receive any follow up phone call yet again. I called to let them know the outcome and find out my charges. As they said I could chose my form of payment after the fact. They charged the card I used to hold the appointment without asking me. No apologies, no discount, no refund was even offered. Sadly I won't be referring or using them again. They did not follow up with me any of the times they should have. The owner did not call me to at least try to make it right, or smooth things over. Disappointing at best to say the least. This is why I always do my own cleaning. We asked them specifically do a deep cleaning of the kitchen, and had to ask them to redo some work because finding grease in the oven and in the microwave that it wasn't even touched. Horrible Service! I hired this company to provide a move-out cleaning to prepare a small, one bedroom one bathroom condo for sale. They charged me $225 based on their "hourly rate" - this is a tiny condo, no stove in it at the time, and the toilet wasn't even cleaned. They put the sink stopper in the bar sink and didn't turn the water completely off in this vacant property, which resulted in the sink filling up and overflowing, causing water damage beneath the sink and to the hardwood floor. I called in, emailed pictures of the damage and have yet to hear back from them. Very disappointed and will never use this company again! read more

The review got a little long, so for those of you who just want the highlights in deciding if you'll use the service: the Molly Maids did not clean my house. It was empty, probably the easiest cleaning job you could get, and they did less than the bare minimum. I paid for my place to be cleaned and could've gotten the same service if I had burned the money: there was hair in the bathrooms, no noticeable difference in the pantry (which I'd asked special care be taken due to allergies), and a coat of dust on top of the refrigerator which is eye level. I'm not positive they did anything at all beyond a little dusting and sweeping for 2 and a half hours, and because I didn't have a chance to walk through until move in day, I did not know until I moved in (again, it was literally empty). Frustrating, because I purposefully got the cleaning done a week before I moved so that the place would be spotless when I moved my stuff in. As context for this review, I recently purchased a home and had work done to replace all of the carpeting with wood floors. The house was empty - literally no furniture besides one mattress in one of the rooms. I also had a very busy work day on the day Molly Maid came to my house. The Molly Maid business owner and his wife were courteous on the phone, the price sounded reasonable, and they were able to schedule it for the day and time I wanted the cleaning done - something I appreciate. I also discussed with them that I might become a regular customer - come on for a monthly, or bi-monthly cleaning service if the service was good. My house is not large, and again - there was nothing in it. On the day the Molly Maids came to my house I had to get a lot of work done - I was on the phone, and pretty much as soon as they arrived and were situated, I left. Before I left I had one request - that they clean the pantry well, because I have nut allergies and the lady I bought the house from may have had nuts in the pantry. They called me about 2 hours later and said they'd be done in a half hour. This was great, however I had a call for work and couldn't come back to the house right away. I told them I'd settle the bill with the Molly Maid owner over the phone, and they said that was alright. I didn't have much opportunity to walk around my house until today (move in day). I'm having a friend stay over tonight to help me set up my place, and the first thing I heard was that his bathroom had hair in the tub and appeared to not have been cleaned. Proceeding from there I went into the kitchen and saw that while the counters did seem clean, the top of the refrigerator had a huge coat of dust on it. As I continued to look around I kept seeing things that indicated that the Molly Maids had not done their job: There was dust in the corners, underneath the mattress there was working dirt and stuff from when the wood floor guys installed the new floors (they didn't even bother to try and clean), and cobwebs in the main living room that I'd noticed from before the Molly Maids came. The most disturbing thing though, is that after telling the Molly Maid about my allergies and asking them to pay particular attention to the pantry, there was still food residue from the previous owner in the corners of the pantry, and the pantry did not appear to have been cleaned at all. It seems to me that just because I wasn't on premise doesn't mean that the Molly Maids should have half assed the cleaning job. I could have been a regular customer if they had put in a little effort - I can tell you I will not be using their service again. I feel bad giving this review, because on the phone the owner and his wife sounded very nice. However, the service I got was terrible and I think they should know that and try to rectify it in the future - whoever worked on my house should know that you can't screw over a customer without them broadcasting that across the internet.
