For various reasons, I rarely do medical reviews, but there are exceptions, such as this one…read more Dr. Stewart is a warm and friendly fellow with a great bedside manner. Dr. Stewart is part of this ENT group which is in SLO near the airport. While it can be a challenge to get in since many specialist are rare in our county and one always has to deal with the rules of any given HMO or PPO, in general this group has come through for me. Unfortunately, I have this chronic nagging problem with impacted ear wax that happens every few years or so. Sometimes, it can even result in an infection, and PCP's do not have the equipment nor skill to deal with it. ER's & Urgent cares are useless as well and can make it worse by trying to irrigate with a syringe when you really need a tiny suction device with the skills of a good ENT. Even though I have had some prior more painful disimpactions done, this one did not hurt a bit. He also used some water to rinse a bit and then prescribed some antibiotic for that ear, and some topic steroids for Otitis Externa. The front desk people & office manager also helped alot with expediting everything and could recognize that I was suffering, so the compassion was very welcomed. Also upon further thought, I asked if somehow we could set up recurring appointments, in the future, at about 11 month intervals, and they said it would not be a problem. While this condition has been happening to me for about 30 years, this is the first time, this option either occurred to me, or was offered. Since I do not see moving again, this is a viable option now, and will prevent the problem before it becomes really severe & urgent again. Over one's life... with moving, job chances, insurance changes, and such, it is really hard to think about reoccurring appointments with some providers...so this is really welcomed. I not only would recommend this MD & ENT group for locals, but for others to think about reoccurring appointments for things that they may have not thought of before. After all, quite a few Optometry or some dental offices keep at you for future care, but few others do...except for one local GI MD that I have...which was an inpatient invasive procedure, pre-vaccine, & not welcomed. It is often hard or impossible to tell the difference between greed and caring...or sometimes it can be both. Who really knows in what proportions? Of course, the pandemic made a already dysfunctional pseudo-system worse, and few if any HMO's nor PPO's really care about real follow up care....even if it really saves them money in the long run. For them, they just raise the rates or cut/limit care, or even that you will change to another insurance...so as long as they make a profit...even if they are pseudo-non-profit. In any case, this experience with this MD & this group was stellar. I thank him & them for displaying compassion, kindness, & for being helpful.

He was kind, professional and took the time to listen. After seeing 3 previous Drs., he was the one to get to the bottom of my problem and put me on the road to recovery.

Revised Mini-review:…read more +: 1-Very quick & professional service for a ENT office, or any MD's office, especially since my left ear was impacted. 2-Good Skills & friendly bedside manner. 3-Easy to get an appointment, nice office, & very nice office staff. 4-In and out in 1/2 hr..! 5-Problem fully resolved for my wife at one visit. -: 1-Rather pricey even with the most expensive insurance that I can get from my job (I pay $2,000+ per month plus my employer puts in even more & the coverage is only for 2 people). 2-Another issue, was that only one of my ears was successfully cleaned, the other I had to do with OTC Debrox myself. I was successful at partial self treatment, but the insurance seemed to be billed the full price anyway & I needed a follow-up visit just to tell me it was successful. 3-I had to waste time talking to the insurance company about the billing, which took 1/2 hr. of my valuable time. Next time, I will hopefully have a PCP do it the old fashioned way (warm water jet from a syringe) if it is not impacted & we will use the OTC Debrox which is only $7-10 for self-treatment...before it becomes urgent! Conclusion: Billing/ Insurance issues confusion & expense really "cost" 1-star in this case. Of course, since you cannot put a price on your hearing, having a skilled MD take care of this is priceless. ...but it really hurts to pay so much for the Premium Calpers Anthem Blue Cross PPO plan... and then having to pay even more for such a simple thing!!! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Regardless of the above, I would recommend going to this MD for more serious ENT problems. I would also go back (after I get over the "sticker shock"). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ P.S.- in this SLO area, there is a huge huge shortage of PCP's (& very few are taking new patients), but plenty of specialists....and that is apparently where the money is! Anthem Blue Cross PERSCare PPO is quite the rip-off it appears! The cheaper Anthem PPO choices are a much better deal. Even so, thank the heavens I do not have the HMO that starts with a "K"! Healthcare is such a giant ripoff in this country, no wonder so few can afford decent ( or any) insurance! BTW- Hope you never get an impacted ear-wax problem...you cannot hear out of that ear, get dizzy, and if it becomes infected... you will scream with pain when the wax is sucked out.... aahhhhhHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

She performed my deviated septum surgery along with a turbinate reduction, and the results have been life-changing. While my allergies are still present, I can now breathe significantly better, even when congested. Dr. Molin was extremely professional, informative, and had a wonderful bedside manner that made me feel at ease throughout the entire process. Thanks to her care, the constant cycle of illness has finally been broken, and I feel a huge improvement in my overall quality of life.
