Good morning from Salina where I arrived at Mokas a minute after they opened. They have kiosk ordering, which is nice when you're still not ready to interact with humans. I ordered a small latte, set up my table tent and unpacked my laptop. My coffee was delivered by a friendly person and it was delicious. I then spent the next four hours here pounding away at my laptop. Mokas has that fast casual feel with the kiosks, table tent cards, matching furnishings and general glossiness but it never felt like I was being pushed out, the place never got that full that I was taking up space that might have gone to a paying customer. As Salina is a small town, there's not much coffee to choose from however, Mokas is a refreshing choice over Starbucks. Great vibe, friendly baristas, plenty of seating, great place to chill with coffee and friends. read more

Simply the only reason for 4 stars is because the hot food was a little bland. I did, however appreciate its fresh and not microwaved like other competitors. Had an avocado toast with egg and bacon really tasty and well presented. Service was good friendly people behind the counter willing to help and answer questions. Really cool decoration inside the building end with nice outside seating if the weather was playing along. read more

I stopped by early on a Saturday morning, on my way out of town. I had the red, white, and brew latte (basically a raspberry mocha) and a chocolate chip cookie. I was in a rush, so I just did grab and go, but the staff was polite and it seemed like a cozy place to sip coffee and snack. As far as the coffee, it was fine but basically just what you'd expect from a local chain. The cookie was a bit better than I expected. Overall, a good option over national coffee chains. read more

They have a nice outdoor seating area that even has heaters for winter and is dog friendly. The coffee (vanilla latte) was good and not too sweet and the hot chocolate was nice too. The pastries were surprisingly good and fresh. Biscuit and gravy must be huge for a whole serving -- I got a half and it was very filling. If you're in your late 30s, are still shopping at the Buckle, and drive your 15-year-old Cadillac SUV to a mega church every Sunday to sing tasteless, three word songs to a nonexistent god, this trite and impersonal space will be right up you ugg boots. Bring your best credit card, cause this empty and mediocre experience is going to cost you. Someone's gotta pay for all the Edison light bulbs and Menard's-grade decor. Coffee isn't bad. Food's okay. People are nice. Why is is so expensive? I love their ability to accommodate people (sugar free, fat free, etc) but I have noticed that their syrup uses are way too over powering. I enjoy the staff and love the ambiance of the restaurant. The drive thru is always busy!! And of course, my family all knows what I like :-) but I wished they'd make the coffee flavors more coffee than syrup. We were needing caffeine and these people were so nice to squeeze two more drinks out before they closed. Staff was very friendly. The roast was okay, but who really cares when you need coffee. They offered muffins and scones. It all looked so good. They offered nice seating inside. We will be back if we are driving through again. read more

Mokas seems like a cute place to bring a friend or a good book and hang for awhile. They have a drive through and what looks like a full cafe type menu. I'm torn, this is clearly a local spot and I am a huge advocate of independent businesses, especially in small, middle America where it is easy to become a... modular, chain-filled town. So - Moka's is a hoppin' Salina spot. Friday morning there were clusters of locals chatting: men and women, inside and out. Decor is more bistro than cozy, with tile floors and black and red pleather furniture with metal siding, but there are two plush corner chairs perfect for a study/work stop mid-drive (and free wi-fi!). Coffee drinks are urban coffee house prices ($4-5 for a doctored up mocha) but the food is affordable ($3 for a breakfast sandwich!). They also have a drive-thru if you're on the go but still want to support a local coffee spot. Is this some of the best coffee I've ever had? That's hard to achieve. Did they get my order correct? Mostly. Are the staff friendly? Most definitely! I feel Yelp exists partially to recognize and support local businesses - we all know a Starbucks, but do we know a Moka in Salina, Kansas? Not yet! It's worth coming off I-70 if for nothing else to see a little bit of America (a community we are all a part of!) that we otherwise may not see. read more

Everytime I've gone to mokas lately, i never get the correct drink. I ask for iced and get a hot drink and vise versa. Today I asked for an iced chai, when it came out hot I wasn't too bothered. Until the first sip was all water. I miss the old mokas :/ read more

Make sure you aren't in a hurry. It's been 10 minutes since I place my order in the drive through - still waiting... 15 minutes! Finally get to the window and it took too long for eye contact. I had to ask twice for my rewards. New store is awesome but the staff changes are seriously lacking, customer service is going down hill and there is no consistency in the delivery of product. I went into Mokas for a light lunch, and they definitely hit a home run with that. I spent $9.50 for an iced tea and a bowl of chicken noodle soup. The iced tea was bad and it quite possibly could have been the smallest bowl of soup I could have imagined to get for the price. Finally got to visit this growing local "franchise". New location still feels like construction was recently completed. Trendy design and atmosphere. Outdoor seating doesn't have umbrellas but faces north and is partially covered; partially heated too for the winter season. Menu is reasonably diverse and priced with tasty, small portions of a no-frills approach. Young, but capable staff...even witnessed them handle a nasty customer with ease. Ample parking, busy drive thru, tidy and clean. Good people watching, though they seem to have "those" customers who hang around longer than they should; taking up space without supportive purchases. read more

Decent food, really good coffee. Staff is so friendly it's hard to complain, but they are often undermanned. As a result the inside counter gets ignored in favor of the drive thru. Stick to the drive thru if you want the alpha experience. Inside you can be stuck twiddling your thumbs for about 5 minutes before your order even gets taken. read more
