Unfortunately the experience was a disappointment. My uncle went up to ask the bartender about the changes that were made to the pub and was rudely reprimanded for not waiting at the door. I have never dealt with anything like this before, especially at an Irish pub where it's usually a friendly environment. It was upsetting enough for me leave right there and to also leave this review. I usually try to see the light in the situation but the way in which the bar tender spoke to my uncle upset me to the point to immediately leave. I would never return to this bar and this definitely isn't an Irish pub

This place gets an automatic four stars for being a venue in Hamburg to watch NFL games. I showed…read moreup Sunday night to watch the morning games in the states. Kitchen service stopped a bit before ten. The wait staff was extremely friendly (saw me coming in, asked what I was here to watch, explained when the games were going to be flipped on and where). The bar selection and prices are pretty standard for Hamburg. The actual venue is below the street level, and the interior is dark but pretty warm at the same time. Definitely recommend if you're looking for a place to watch sporting events.

By the time 8 pm came around, the place was starting to get packed. Described to me as a "nerd" bar, I was expecting the decorations on the walls when I arrived. The place was covered with many references to popular video games, movies, and books. It had a very cozy feeling, and you could tell many of the people there were frequent patrons. I was convinced to split a bottle of mead with two friends, which is homemade by the bar. I unfortunately did not like it, finding it too sickly sweet and thick (from the honey) for my tastes. It takes a while to choose from the menu, as it is several pages long with many drink specials and shots, but my simple tequila sunrise was much better. They have a large number of board and card games for patrons to play, and my group greatly enjoyed playing "Cards against Muggles." There's even an old Nintendo 64 in the corner, though I'm sure it's hard to get a spot on that during the night. Word of advice for when you go to the bar: it can get pretty packed up as waves of people all seem to get drinks at once. If you just wait a bit longer, the line will eventually die down, and you can walk right up and order. This place also appears to have hot food, though I did not look at that menu nor try any of it, but it is good to know. Over all I would not mind coming back to this bar. It may invite a fun crowd but the atmosphere is very relaxed. The prices are also reasonable compared to other places. Just be sure to get your seat early or reserve it.

You like tabletop gaming and mead? This is the place for you!…read more A wonderful little basement bar that's full of cliches and atmosphere. From the medieval style kitsch decor to the barrells full of games (literally! the barrells have latched doors and when you open them, boom, plethora of tabletop games inside) this is a theme bar not to be missed! Bring a few friends, grab a table and a board game and enjoy a mead or two. Or come on your own and make new friends! Several of their games have English versions as well and they have Wasabi, which is a quick dice game with instructions in fifteen or so languages. It does get quite crowded on weekends and evenings, but go and have a look anyway, you might be lucky and grab a nice spot. Definitely one of my faves in the city.
