After shopping at Longo's and getting a dragon drink at the Starbucks within that store, I walked…read moreover to my car. Staring at me was a standalone Starbucks cafe. Nope, I wasn't hallucinating! I used to think that it seemed ridiculous to have two Starbucks cafes within walking distance from each other. However, after seeing such setups in Markham (Copper Creek) and Whitchurch-Stouffville, it makes perfect sense to me. Some folks want to perhaps shop and sip. Others want to simply hit the drive-thru and get on with their lives. It's all good. Naturally, being such a curious person, I had to give the drive-thru a go. The most notable feature of this cafe's drive-thru is how wide the lane is. It's super wide! I was impressed. I pulled up to the speaker and got a friendly, cheerful woman. I do like going to town cafes. Customer service is so much better. I asked whether she had any dark chocolate peanut butter cups. Sure enough, she did. She asked if one would be fine. Yes, please! I drove up to the window and she immediately handed over the peanut butter cups. I like that she trusts me! I pulled out my app on the phone to have her scan it. I referred to it as the barcode scanny thing, which made her smile. I have never said that before, so it made me laugh. I wished her a great day. She reciprocated. I was happy with my goodies and drove away. Next time I'm in the area, I'll walk into the cafe and check it out. I liked that I felt comfortable and at home coming here. It was nice. (111)

I redeemed my birthday treat and the cashier and the lady making coffee for drive through orders both warmly wished me a wonderful birthday! The customer service here is friendly and everything moves pretty fast. I also like that they bring your food to your table after your order!! Pretty cool for a fast food place. I am so glad I came here because I've discovered my favourite salad ever - yeah, I know. Who goes to DQ and gets a damn salad? Yup, me. The grilled chicken BLT salad. Oh goodness. The crispiest freshest iceberg lettuce, bits of real bacon and chunks of grilled chicken, which they are quite generous on. Get it with the honey mustard dressing and you will have the best meal ever. I also allow myself to get a mini blizzard too and let me tell ya- go for the fruit ones (strawberry cheesecake or the seasonal summer berry cheesecake- it comes with real cheesecake chunks and berries!!!) because the other ones are way too much. I had the Reese's one and it was way too sweet but kudos for the real chunks of Reese's pieces inside. One star off because there's a lot of ratchet people that come through here, as most fast food places have. People that cut lines, rowdy kids etc. Also something seems to always be sticky, whether it's on the cups or tables or on the packaging of your food. No bueno.

I've had the pleasure of ordering a few Charcuterie boxes over the years and the quality and service is impeccable. I ordered a small charcuterie box which is a 10x10 box filled with meats, cheese, fruit, nuts, crackers and accoutrements. Simply delicious and the presentation is top notch. You can customize your box with your preferences, I love old age cheddar and old Parmesan. Everything was fresh and delicious, packaged well. I'm so happy that my first review of the year is a 5-star review!…read more Each year for New Year's, my husband and I just pick up a shrimp ring and a box of mixed hors d'oeuvres from the grocery store. This year I wanted something different... something special. A charcuterie board! Yes. That would be perfect. I was searching around online and found Charcuterie Pickering. They were close, their website was beautiful but most importantly, the reviews were great. I thought at first that they might be a better option for our corporate events but then I saw that they had all sorts of options available, large and small. I couldn't find a price list online so surely they're going to be too expensive for what I was looking for but thought, what did I have to lose by requesting a price list? I reached out via their website and Maria was quick to respond to my query. Much to my surprise (and happiness), the prices were reasonable. Since it was just for my husband and I, I opted for the small 10x10 box. Charcuterie Pickering accepts payment by etransfer and credit card (by phone). As I was paying by credit card, I had the opportunity to speak with Maria directly. She asked about allergies and preferences. Thankfully neither of us have any food allergies and because of that, I didn't want to limit her creativity by choosing any preferences. I wanted her to know that she had complete creative licence and mentioned my love for blue cheese so even that would be welcomed... you know, on the off-chance she may have some laying around. (Okay, so maybe that was one preference I was hoping she would include.) We scheduled our pick up for mid-afternoon on New Year's Eve and she came out to meet us at our car. Honestly, at first I was amazed by the weight of the box but as I peaked through the lid, my excitement grew! It was so hard to wait until later in the evening to have it and truth be told, we did dip into it a couple of times along the way. Our box included an assortment of meats, fresh and dried fruit, crackers, olives, jams, jellies and even honey with the most adorable wooden honey dipper. But there she was... tucked into a corner... the most glorious looking blue cheese! To be fair, that blue cheese was the reason why I couldn't wait and ended up sneaking a couple of bites early. Everything was absolutely fabulous... especially that blue cheese! My goodness, that blue cheese! Picking through the box was like a little food adventure... trying everything, in every combination. It was beautiful. It was delicious. It was perfect. I hope to make this my new New Year's tradition.
