I have been practicing yoga since 2008, and specifically at Moksha since 2010. The classes have been the same level of challenge since the very beginning (and a beginning level at that), and the best classes I have experienced here are taught by visiting instructors. I have suggested and asked for the addition of classes for intermediate/advanced levels, but it seems that management is satisfied with mediocre. I guess I just expected that we would be given more opportunity to challenge ourselves with advanced postures. Perhaps the visiting teachers have to provide varied and challenging classes to meet the demand of yogis in larger communities than Moksha Ch'town? Or maybe the standards here are just low? It will do for now...but if you are looking for a challenge, don't set your expectations very high. Addendum: Genevieve was great! I have been going to Moksha Yoga Charlottetown for over a year now, almost daily in fact. There are so many great instructors there that i could not possibly do justice to them all in a short review. The classes are offered at many different times of the day to allow flexible scheduling, there are several types of classes that allow for variety and challenge, and the place is always clean and peaceful. Moksha has created a wonderful, vital community that i feel priveleged to be a part of. read more

Being an overweight newbie, I was self-conscious about trying hot yoga. I was pleasantly surprised to find that I really enjoyed my first few classes; the instructor was great and the facility was beautiful. Unfortunately, when I arrived for my fourth or fifth class, it was quite crowded so I had to set up my mat at the front of the room. Directly behind me were two of Moksha's instructors, also taking the class. Because I was directly in front of the mirror, I could see these two girls motioning to one another and jerking their heads in my direction, snickering, throughout the class. I wish I could say I didn't care but, honestly, it was incredibly humiliating. I haven't been back. read more

I have attended Moksha Yoga at the location in Charlottetown for a year now. The teachers are all very special in their own different ways. It doesn't matter what shape, size or fitness level you are, everyone is welcome and you can take the class at your own pace. There is a special feeling of peace and gratefulness, you are challenged, accepted and can enjoy the generosity of spirit of the instructors and the participants alike. Try it ! You won't regret it ! Tip : If you place your mat beside the door you may find the instructors open it towards the end of the class and you get a nice little breath of cool air ! read more

Not my fave. Been doing Moksha for ten years now, in Toronto, was passing through for business, and thought I'd try it here. The room was nice and hot, but the instructor was unengaging, played inappropriate music, didn't do one adjustment to anyone, and was unavailable after class for discussion. Also, the floors were dirty, the room hadn't been mopped between classes (only 15 minutes in between is NOT enough time), and I only had five minutes after for savasana before the lights came on and I got kicked out. I was irritated, disappointed, and uninspired. I hope this studio learns from their mistakes, but right now, they're not quite up to par. read more
