I've been wanting my nose pierced for awhile and I found this place that accepts walk-ins. Right when you walk in the door you can smell how clean the place was. The employees there were super nice and informative. My piercer Reham(I believe that was her name) was super chill and did all the disinfecting and sanitizing. She did amazing with the placement. Over all this shop is definitely one of the cleaner ones I've been too and I highly recommend. It is a little pricey but I see it as you get what you pay for. read more

I went in for a daith and a nose piercing, and I was very happy with the whole experience; from making the call to make the appointment to the face to face interaction. I walked out of another local business after a rather disappointing interaction and called here on a whim, not knowing what to expect. They require appointments these days, like so many other businesses, so I wasn't sure if I'd be able to get one the same day - I did!! I was blown away by the level of customer service that David provided - by phone, email, text and finally in person. I work in the customer service industry and I will admit I have rather lofty standards, so that is a MAJOR compliment from me. While visiting family I decided to FINALY get my ears pierced. I walked in on a Tuesday. I decided on not one but TWO piercing! This was my first time getting a piercing since my early childhood days. The shop is VERY CLEAN and bright! I was able to get help picking out a jewelry piece to my liking. The guy who did my piercing was very professional and knowledgeable. He took his time on the positioning and making sure it would look good. I was a walk-in on a First Friday. I wanted to have my ears re-pierced and to get a dermal/surface anchor below the middle of my collarbone. I met David and Chad. Both were very friendly and helpful. Everything was so bright and clean! Chad helped me pick my jewelry and did my piercing. He took a ton of time on the positioning for the surface anchor and making sure it would look good. He was super patient and did a great job keeping me feeling calm during the piercing process. It has been 3 weeks, the new piercing seems to be healing well and I love how it looks! read more

I went here a little over a year ago when they had their Massillon location (I was visiting my hometown before heading back east where I live) and was not impressed. There was one piercer, who I later learned was not associated with the shop - he was a guest from out of town and neither of the original owners were there, and a guy working the counter, who was also someone this piercer brought with him and not from the shop either. Took about 15 minutes before anyone noticed I was in there, except the 2 girls in front of me who had been waiting about an hour to get their belly buttons pierced (which is what I was there for as well). I got the paperwork filled out and waited another hour and half for him to take the 2 girls back (the only other people in the shop) to do their piercings. In the meantime both the piercer and the guy working the counter were more interested in talking about the piercings they were gonna do on each other after the shop closed than the 3 girls in the shop - aka the CUSTOMERS. The girls in front of my actually got to pick their designs and picked jewelry that had crystals on it, where as I was not informed of different piercing jewelry options. After they got their piercings done, paid, and left, it was still another 45 minutes before I was able to go back and get mine done, where I was immediately told by the piercer I was too fat to get it done and even if he did pierce it, it would grow outward from my skin because of how fat I was. It should be noted that I had researched this for several years because, as a size 6, I realize I'm not a VS model, but saw videos of girls multiple sizes larger than I getting it done with no problem and finally got the confidence to get it done. He continued to say that I could come back the next week when the normal owners were there but they would say the same thing - I was simply too fat to get it done (I was leaving that night to go back home anyways). Needless to say, I was in tears and extremely embarrassed as this conversation took place within earshot of several other customers who had come into the shop by this point. I returned home to Canada and, a few weeks later, went to a wonderful shop there that had no problem piercing my belly button. I actually had to take it out a few weeks later, unfortunately, due to a very unplanned, semi emergency surgery, and after I recovered I got it repierced at that same shop. A year later and I've still had no issues with it, it is still in the same position, with no signs of growing outward from my skin as was suggested. I see that the same people still own this place in its new Canton location so I do not recommend it at all. read more

I initially discovered Modern Ritual in 2014 when I was doing a search for area piercing shops who stocked a large selection of body jewelry; to find a shop within a 15 mile drive in this area which stocks more than what one can typically find at your local Hot Topic is rare. My partner and I made the quick trip over and what we discovered in Modern Ritual far exceeded our expectations.The shop is simple, sleek, earthy, immaculately clean, and stocked with beautiful high end body jewelry. Saying all that, I've always believed you can tell a lot by an establishment from their restrooms. Just as immaculate as the showroom, it was outfitted with with a touch-free sink, soap dispenser, waste can, and touch-free facilities. We were helped by Reba, a piercer. We told her we were in to check out septum jewelry. She showed me every piece they had in stock, and while she thorough in explaining the merits of each piece, never once pressured us to buy. I was so impressed by her professionalism, I chose her to pierce my nipples. Just as before, she explained all the jewelry options, from stainless steel to titanium, and was in no rush to close a deal. Anyone can see she's in this business to adorn people and help them feel beautiful. Modern Ritual's piercing room is medical grade, squeaky clean and with an autoclave on premises, clients can feel comfortable knowing the staff cares about the health of their clients. Reba and I had a substantial conversation a about the placement of my new piercings. She took her time and great care in marking the locations to be pierced; she's a consummate professional and super easy to get along with. I won't be pierced anywhere else. read more
