After 8 PM, finding a parking spot is very difficult, and we are told that we need to pay extra to get a parking spot. Last night, I came home at 9 PM and had to park my car behind the house due to the lack of parking spaces. Unfortunately, the leasing office stuck a thick paper on my car window that is very hard to remove and will likely leave glue residue. This paper obstructed my view, and I almost had an accident several times. Additionally, the garbage situation behind the house is very bad. On the first day, we were told that we would have one parking spot, but after 8:30 PM, there is no space, and we have to search the streets to find a spot. Please address this issue and provide a solution for the parking problem so that residents do not have to pay extra and can easily find a parking spot.

Morristown Alister has a nice location and at first glance looked nice but rather pricey. They get into the unit, chew on electrical cords, run around in the walls making scratching noises, eat your ramen, poo on your kitchen floor. The lady upstairs had her air conditioner unit fail because one crawled into it. They also do not empty the recycling and trash dumpsters on a timely regular manner. The things overflow with garbage and cardboard all over the ground around the dumpsters. Perhaps this is related to the rat problem, but it was annoying to have to step over broken glass and rain-soaked stinky cardboard to throw out my trash. Finally, their procedures on move-out are not what they say. Joel sent out an email saying on move out, if we did their inspections early they would give us a chance to repair or fix any deficiencies noted, so I rushed to move out before their inspection which was 2 weeks before my actual end of lease. Joel told me of no deficiencies when I went to their office to return the key (the office was supposed to open at 9 but no one was there until 10 and they made me wait in the heat). When they finally got around to returning my deposit, they docked off for damages to the hardwood floor from the rats they never dealt with. What a ripoff! If you are driving around on their golf cart, look for the holes in the ground outside units that tell you rats are there. Good points: gas stove, washer and dryer in unit, friendly dogs and cats around. Ceiling fans. Bad points: not central air, heating also goes out in winter when super noisy boiler breaks and goes out of service, water main breaks, expensive, parking spots run out if you don't park early, rats, garbage all over the garbage areas overspilling the bins.

The M has one maintenance person for two properties and the position changed four times in one year. Maintenance was incomplete where they had to come back on more than two occasions. The leasing office at the M does NOT have anyone on staff during business hours because the staff is at their sister location covering for two properties. Amenities are basic and the outdoor area is worn out wood and dirty with grills that do not work. Be prepared to lose part of your security deposit for normal wear and tear. Was charged $250 for tiny nail holes that were spackled before move out and so called scuff marks (there were none). Their justification, there was a larger area that needed to be spackled and touched up and the rest of the walls had to be repainted due to a scuff mark. See pictures they sent for their unwarranted justification. In reality, according to the State of New Jersey it was normal wear and tear, the place was spotless. Following is upper management justification for charging $250."While a small number of nail holes are permitted, the wall repairs and touch up paint for which you were charged were for areas larger than a small nail hole. For example, one area of a wall was spackled in an attempt to repair the wall but required additional work by our team to restore the wall to its original condition. There was also a second area of a wall where paint appeared to have been peeled away, maybe by tape or something that had been stuck to the wall. I have attached photos of both areas to which I am referring. These areas both required repair and repainting, along with the painting of several other walls where scuff marks were left. If they could have charged that in the first place, why charge so much and only give the significant discount after you email them you are planning to leave. Really you can only blame the greedy corporation that owns the building. But honestly, it just does not make a resident feel good. Additionally every time there is a fire drill, you will go deaf because the alarm is so unbearably loud (to the point your ears hurt) and your pets will get extremely scared too. I have emailed about the extremely loud fire drill several times; only received a response once and nothing has been done about it.

He screams obscenities at us if we wear shoes and slams furniture late into the night. We tried to abide by our lease and only complain if we felt unsafe, but little has changed. Our neighbor has grown more bold and threatened to fight us multiple times. We complained numerous times to the property manager who seemed supportive at first but grew tired of our complaints and stopped helping us (even though she disclosed this neighbor has been complained about by every previous tenant in our apartment). Property management would not allow us to leave our lease early without paying two months rent and losing our security deposit. Anyone who values their safety and is looking for management that will be supportive of providing a secure environment should look elsewhere. We are scared to return to the property.

The staff has always addressed any issues we have had in a very speedy manner. We have lived in other complexes where we had to wait over a week to get our toilet repaired and that was their norm with everything. Here, things you need done, get done. Colin and Jenna who run the leasing office are 2 of the most incompetent people I've ever met. They sit in their closed offices all day and no one answers the phones or emails. I very much keep to myself and use only my apartment. From the previous tenant that was never fixed, my apartment has patchy dry wall, cracked tiles, peeling counters and cabinets - all veneer, and chipped doors. I've issues with appliances, most recently I didn't have a working dishwasher for over a month. For this rent that is unacceptable. The garbage rooms are constantly overflowing. Dogs are always barking. Doors to the outside don't lock. If you are on the ground floor or second floor you will have bugs - centipedes and crickets. Also the building has carpet beetles on all floors. I've asked for an exterminator but had hire one myself. Windows don't get washed. Pot is smoked in stairways and in common spaces. Packages go missing constantly. The pool is closed more often than open. The courtyard common area is always filled with smokers (pot, cigarette or cigar) and drunk people. Random people linger outside windows on the lower level and homeless sleep in the stairwells in the winter. They rent out "corporate" apartments that are filled with people who are noisy, loud and disrespectful to their neighbors because they are not bound to the lease. When you ask the leasing office for help with this or anything they either don't respond or play dumb. If you're going pay high rent prices, move into one of the newer apartment buildings with better management companies.

If you're considering moving to the Heritage House, I strongly advise you to think twice. I've…read morelived there for a year and a half and have had numerous problems that were never resolved. They shut the water off consistently 1-4 times a month for the whole day to do "repair work and maintenance." This repair work must be a massive job to keep having to shut the water off consistently several times a month for an extended period of time. Seems more like they're just trying to save money on the water bill. It's ironic that the water charges on the rent bill went up several dollars this year. Recently, they shut the water off for a day and a half! We couldn't cook, shower, brush teeth, wash hands, or flush the toilet! Absolutely absurd! In addition, during the months of October-April when they turn on the heat, it's extremely hot in that building. We consistently have had to leave the windows and back door open all day/night since the thermostat in the wall units always read 77-80 degrees. Unless you're one of the 80-90 year olds living there, that is uncomfortably hot. Calls were made to the owner of the building, but he did nothing about it. There is one washer/dryer on every floor, but the dryer on my floor consistently ate my quarters. I went to the dryer on the next floor, and that was out of order for over a month. If you live on floors 3-5, good luck with the 2 oldest elevators in existence. You might as well climb the stairs because you'll get there faster and feel more safe. They make loud creaking, groaning noises and jerky movements. They are also consistently out of order. There are 2 people living in different apartments on the same floor who have been complained about due to the intense odor coming out of their apartments. It smelled of vomit, feces, and rotting trash every time I walked by and I had to run to the elevator gagging. Several calls were made to Main Management but the smell persisted for months. It's funny that they had no problem giving a 3.5% increase in our rent when we renewed though. Claiming that they believe "they offer nice, new apartments." Yeahhhh, I think not!! Main Management's job is to provide a service to people who rent apartments in this building and provide the utilities that we pay for- a lot of money for! They consistently fail to do so!

Here's a list of the reasons why I'd choose another building: -can't control heat and it was insanely hot in there (left windows open in the winter) -the one washer/dryer per floor was either always broken, ate quarters, or in use. - management constantly shut the water off. We got notices literally once a month that they were shutting the water off all day. -parking wasn't a big problem until the end of my time there when they limited street parking so you had to pay $50/month per car to park in the upper lot. -rotting garbage stench coming from obese tenant's apartment every day -the rent! We had two price increases in the two years we were there. A old, one bedroom apartment like this is in no way worth $1800/month especially with all the other issues with this place. -biggest issues was that the cheapskate owner, Randy Kleinwaks, has been known to screw people out of their deposit. He did it to us and to two different friends of ours. One is a lawyer and took him to court and actually won his case though. He's a sleazy, slime ball who tries to rip people off. We got charged $150 because we couldn't get some soap scum off the shower door and the super said later that the only way it comes off is with Lime Away. Great, how are we supposed to know that? It's funny because when we moved in, the apartment was filthy and not even swept. He also charged us for having to clean grout out of the tiles in the bathroom floor. Seriously?! Trying to charge people to maintain your own apartment complex is disgusting. He will find any little thing to keep part of your money.

Justin was super helpful and Gianna was always super responsive. Both of them went above and beyond. It is a shame they no longer work here. The new team does not seem interested in helping the residents or doing their jobs. The new blonde lady in the office always seems confused and does not know what she is doing. She hides behind some huge monitor which makes her unapproachable. Occasionally I see another woman there but she is not friendly either. It takes maintenance a long time to address work orders and when they finally get to it they just try to blame the resident or say that is just how the building . For the price and location, I would expect more.

We also had a ton of water damage to our ceilings, and most appliances were falling apart. The worst part? The AC units are super old and grimy - not great if you have allergies to dust. We also had mice during the wintertime despite keeping our kitchen immaculately clean. The only saving grace is the maintenance crew who are very kind and fast working. For the hefty price tag, it's just not worth it. Go elsewhere.

Your rent check has to be at the rental office by the 5th, which is fine. However, the check is mailed to Englewood and then transferred to the rental office in Millburn. I put the rent check in the mail on the 30th and it was not cashed until the 12th. I then received a letter on the 15th (but dated the 8th) saying I owe a $35 late fee and if my check was not hand delivered to the rental office by the 10th they will start the EVICTION process! Eviction for being 5 days later than their "grace period" when your check is sitting on a desk who knows where for who knows how long! The kicker was there was NO contact information on the letter! When I finally found contact info I got no help and a bunch of bullshit! Kamson is just a huge slumlord corporation! Do yourself a favor and read all the reviews on Kamson! There are much nicer places to live in Morristown.
