As the mother of the groom, I watched the day unfold from behind the scenes. There were multiple issues throughout the event, including late chair delivery, incorrect tablecloths, hors d'oeuvres that never made it to many guests, buffet items that ran out before everyone was served, and desserts that many guests--including the bride and groom--never received. Our day-of coordinator also had to step in several times to clear plates, refill the buffet, and manage tasks that should have been handled by the catering staff. We understand that no wedding is perfect, but the level of disorganization was disappointing. One staff member was even socializing with guests and asking if he could join the dancing, which felt very unprofessional. To the owner's credit, she met with my son and daughter-in-law afterward, but the resolution offered did not reflect the impact these issues had on such an important day. There are so many outstanding wedding caterers in the Hampton Roads area. Before making such a significant investment with this company, I encourage couples to do their research, compare several companies, and read recent reviews carefully. I hope this helps other couples make an informed decision.

We had the pecan chicken which was very tasty. The apple pecan salad was delicious. The bread pudding was one of the best I ever had. The shrimp and grits were a disappointment. They were too salty, could not finish them.

I recently attended a hiring fair here and had no idea this Conference center was even here!…read more It's smaller than others, but, was well-maintained and clean and the hiring fair was well laid-out and a well-oiled machine. They had security in place and screening for all who entered which was nice. I was impressed and would absolutely attend another event or considering hosting one here.

Felt this event needed a review! First time attending this event I was told it's an annual event,…read morenot sure how many years but let's share my experience! The write up for this event was very persuasive, it really sparked my interest! So much so I bought tickets the day they went on sale. Purchased early bird VIP TICKET day the ticket went on sale! Was the VIP Ticket worth it? Arrived early they were very much prepared for people to arrive they had security outside you had to get wanded before entering. There was a little hiccup with my ticket, but very quickly resolved. Once you make it through security and get your wrist band, then pick up your swag bag with your food and drink tickets. VIP you received early entrance one hour before General Admission, a swag bag which had a nice glass, a cookie, a little tiny brownie bite, a pen, a rubber bracelet thing, a few stickers (2), a cardboard coaster. As a VIP you received 5 food sampling tickets, and five beverage sampling tickets. And a very nice VIP section. The VIP section had lots of things to do like pool tables, video games, pin ball machines, little seating areas, and tables, a bar where you can purchase drinks, the best part to me which I will get into further actually they might get their own review, there was casino game tables roulette, graps, and blackjack. The VIP section had a chocolate fountain which honestly was the only chocolate you could enjoy that was included with your ticket. There was other chocolate but it was for purchase. Like any event they have vendors, vendors were set up in the hall way areas it was nice the way they were set up. ( I wished the people at the entrance area where we picked up the vip swag bag would have mentioned that they have vendors and where they were. ) again some cute vendors that went along with the theme. Moving on to the food samplings that you can use your tickets to sample. Not a lot of options only 4 or 5 two of the same vendor at different locations in the room with the same menu. Not a big variety to sample most of the vendors had just pork options with your food ticket. Pulled pork, and macaroni and cheese at 4 of the vendors. There was a vendor with chicken but for purchase not included with the wristband or tickets. Most of the vendors had a small sampling and then an option to purchase. The VIP section had a table that was included with your wristband for 3 sampling's. (Again I wish that I was told about the VIP Section and that this was included with your ticket/ wristband. Okay I know you're waiting for the bourbon selection lots of bourbon this was definitely the stand out fitting considering it's the first word in the title of the event. I'm not a big fan of bourbon or whiskey but I really love sampling events like this. I love small distilleries. I'm a big fan of small batch liquors. I tasted a few standouts there was a maple bacon bourbon, a peach bourbon, a gingerbread whiskey I believe a premier bourbon and I tasted a gin. Yes, I did say gin that was really good very unique. There were others, but those were my standouts again. Remember, I am not a big bourbon fan so if you noticed I like ones that have other flavor profiles added to them. You can definitely taste a difference in small batch compared to massively produced the quality is top-notch. I did walk around quite a bit. I walk through all the vendor tables. There were a few bakeries that were there set up with tables that were selling baked goods. I did purchase from one bakery that I will be doing a separate Yelp review. Be sure to follow me so you can see. I will tell you most of my time was spent over in the VIP section at the blackjack table to me that was the best part of the event. The dealer was professional, engaging, and very friendly. I will be doing a separate Yelp review for them as well. Be sure to follow me so you can see. So was the VIP ticket worth it I would say based on having the VIP section I would say it is downfalls for this not enough trash cans very, very few hard to locate, NOT ENOUGH food options, not enough VARIETY definitely not enough chocolate and can we please get a bottle of water with a VIP bag. WHERES THE BRISKET? WHERES the CHICKEN? WHERES the BACON? Better communication with guests to let them know what they have available. Had no idea that there were food trucks outside until after I was getting ready to leave. It would've been nice to know ahead of time that there was food trucks outside maybe offer a little handout that tells all the vendors where they're located, including all the sampling tables, and food trucks. Just a suggestion. Well I go back again next year most likely if they have the black check tables if so, I would definitely get a VIP ticket again. See you on my next review. Sorry not a lot of photos I didn't think to take photos I did some streaming and vlogging.

Went here Friday for Valentine's Day date night. This was my first time attending a Muse Paint bar…read moreclass. Upon walking in, we were directed to our assigned table and easels. We were originally assigned to a table with only bar stools, but asked to be moved to a table with actual regular chairs. At first, one staff member seemed like it was an "undoable" task until I spoke with a different person, the man who led our painting class, who easily said it was no problem. That was a little weird tho. Took us a min to get started, not sure what the hold up was. Once we began, I feel like our instructor went at a decent pace and explained directions thoroughly throughout the night. As the night went on, there was a staff member who consistently went around all night collecting trash and telling everyone their painting was "beautiful" and "nice." This made all of us attendees laugh because we all felt our paintings were actually looking crazy lol. Had the option to order food and drinks directly at the bar or to scan a QR code attached to our easels and order from our phones. We didn't get any food because we had dinner plans, but from what I saw other people order, the food looked pretty decent. I did try a drink, the White Peach Sangria (8/10) it was decently sweet and refreshing. I can see myself going back for another painting class. We did the individual paintings side of the building, but on the other side, the easels are coupled together for the paintings to be "connected" so I think we'll do that painting style next time. My overall rate of experience : 9/10

Ladies Night at paint bar is a perfect way to unwind after a long day or work day…read more Checking is smooth they have your name on your canvas to prepared you and the bar was very well assembled. Walking you are surrounded with a free space and vibrant atmosphere full of art that master create as well as pieces you can even purchase that are displayed on the wall. The instructor was phenomenal she guided us through each way and make sure we were happy with the piece and if there was any edit that we needed help with they were willing to help. And this was definitely beginner/advanced class but definitely a good start to those that want to try to look what masterpiece you can make. They do recommend you getting there the time the bar/kitchen opens to get time to order food and drinks .The service was good and the food and drinks were good I was recommended to try there pepperoni flatbread and that was honestly a good piece as well as there drinks are nice and light and not to heavy on you a perfect way to just unwind and let them you guide throughout the night. They do offer paint your pet might do that for our pet and. I did see a piece on the wall that I want to do that is happening tomorrow. And I did like the way they showcase Each of the painting so you can see it in person for the first time or when you visit you can see what each painting they're doing for that month. If you are first timer or pro all welcome here and I would come back again for another painting it was definitely a great time. Perfect way to start the new year to make artwork I did rebook for an afternoon and want to check out both day and night and for day it's all ages and night depending on what the event is.

Our kids did the most recent children's theater class and had their performance tonight…read more But every week the kids got into the car upon class pick up (ages 7 and 9) and would talk about how the two teachers just yelled at the kids the whole time and said rude things to them. I would ask to tell me what was said and here's some examples "shut up and listen" "you didn't practice your lines!!" To children who clearly were trying their best and did practice. The kids would say that they just sat in class the whole time unable to talk while other people worked on their part and they just had to sit and listen so they found it to be not only boring, but very stressful. Day of performance: I heard them rehearsing beforehand and again the children were being yelled at. They put down the children by saying they haven't practiced and they aren't good. They are not building the kids up by encouraging them. They literally told the kids "this is the worst show we've seen" before the kids were expected to go on stage in front of parents and family to preform what they just worked months for. No smiles on any of the kids faces until it was finished. Also- there was not enough practice before hitting the stage. They hadn't even ran the play from start to finish until they did it in front of everybody live. All the kids seemed very unsure and they each forgot a large percentage of their lines and looked very confused about what to do on stage. This is because they never had a proper dress rehearsal. My kids were very uneasy and disturbed at seeing how the two women spoke to the other kids in their class. They even said they felt scared of them. There was 1 boy with a speak delay/learning disability of some sort and my son said that he got yelled at before the performance so bad that he cried. When we heard that we were mad for that poor child and his parents. These kids should feel proud of themselves, not shamed and disappointed in their performance. This is the beginning of these children's confidence in theater and they are being made to dislike it and feel dumb. Confidence is everything and it's not what they are gaining here. As my 7 year old says- "we are supposed to be built up, not torn down"

If I could rate these classes Terribly Traumatic, I would. All of my child's friends and classmates…read morefelt unsafe and unhappy after only two days. The third day -according to my child- ruined the whole program for them. My child took other classes and said that they no longer want to be in any classes with this so called "children's summer camp company" ever again. My child came home after having called me in the class (we will talk about the call later) saying that they had just experienced the worst panic attack in the entire life. Now, my child has anxiety and frequently gets these kinds of panic attacks; so for my baby to come home and tell me they just experienced the WORST ATTACK EVER, simply will not go unsaid. When they had called me that day two hours before pickup they had explained the situation with the help of a dear friend. It is oustanding to me that they could barely speak and needs their friend to talk to me. The situation at hand was told to be toxic, manipulative, and extremely traumatic. While on the call I was listening to the situation unfold. To say the least I was shocked, angry, and extremely disappointed. I heard an ADULT call the entire class sh*theads, gaslight them by saying the kids were ruining her happy place and dumping her past year's trauma on them. WHAT?! These are kids we're talking about. CHILDREN. Not therapists, not adults; kids as young as 9. My child also reported that a friend of theirs (who i was told wishes to be anonymous as possible) was told they were the favourite. Yeah. Not only that too, this child was asked to help an ADULT how to calm down the rest of the kids. THEY WERE TOLD THESE THINGS BY AN ADULT DURING A PANIC ATTACK. My child also claimed that another friend (this child was not in the class long enough-due to this situation-to tell my child their contact info so, they are staying anonymous) was told to be with the rest of the class after being vividly reminded of their traumatic upbringing. It is truly revolting, please never sign your child up for these camps unless your prepared for more therapy expenses.
