This place was cute. We took a day trip to Southern Pines and was walking the downtown sidewalks. This little gift shop got out attention as we walked by. The smell of soaps and lotions greeted us as we entered. They had a wide range of gift items. We were greeted by the friendly employees as soon as we stepped foot inside the store. The decor of the store is cool. They have items of all different price ranges. They have a large collection of kitchen towels with catchy sayings. They had a large selection of jigsaw puzzles. One of my favorite stores in Southern Pines, this is a great placet to come in and stroll or to get some unique gifts for loved ones. Many interesting graphic design tea towels, socks, shoppers, and more. Fun unique items and high end beauty product that are a bit hard to find. Got a natural magnesium deodorant and some gifts. I did not ask for gift packaging, but nonetheless their regular packaging is so adorable. They even wrapped it all up in feathery tissue paper with gold accents. Absolutely wonderful. I was able to remove my personal items and use their packaging for my gift items. read more

Exploitive, Overpriced, and Reckless. So there is supply and demand and then there is full out price gouging during a worldwide crisis. Mockingbird on Broad practices the latter. Want some hand sanitizer? No problem, just $25-$35 depending on the size. Even when there isn't a worldwide pandemic, Mockingbird's prices are a bit ridiculous. The products are a bit cheesy, only slightly classier than those you would find in a Spencer's Gifts at the mall. These cheesy knickknacks are rebranded as "boutique" and the prices inflated accordingly. On a separate note, if have Instagram, you can checkout the owner's videos. She likes to record them while driving around town. So much for keeping your eyes on the road. read more

As I walked down Broad Street in Southern Pines, a wonderful, fragrant scent caused me to immediately stop, turn my head and behold this establishment. I went in and enjoyed the kind help of the staff, the aroma of the craft candles designed by the staff, and the many decorative items. I found a wonderful scent "Volcano" in hand soap, diffuser, candles etc. This place is pleasing to the eyes and nose. A bit on the pricey side, but I don't mind paying a premium for quality product. A must see ( and smell ). read more

What a cute little store!!!! They have so many random goodies here that I could have probably wandered around for an hour and still not have been able to see everything. They sell clothing, accessories, high-end crafts, kitchen gadgets, books, knickknacks and home decor. They are dog friendly, the owner is super sweet and I just learned they have an online store that offers free shipping on orders of $50. Seriously? Take my money!!!! read more

Mockingbird is a beautiful boutique located right on "the strip" (Broad Street) in downtown Southern Pines. The store is a beautiful place to just walk through + look for inspiration, as well as to pick up something fun for yourself or your home, or the perfect gift for a friend. The owner, Sundi, has a great eye for design. I guarantee you won't be able to walk through this store without finding something you love. (Unless you have terrible taste, in which case you might be disappointed. Everything here is beautiful.) She also has an adorable selection of children's things (including Ugly Dolls + beautiful Serena & Lily slings). LOVE Mockingbird!! I make my way out to Southern Pines at least once a month from the Fayetteville area for a more unique, personable shopping experience, and Mockingbird is by far my favorite stop! Whether I know what I'm shopping for, or just looking for inspiration, Mockingbird has it. There are so many great gift ideas for all ages, and the growing clothing selection is fantastic. Every time I go in, I'm met with a friendly welcome, and have a pleasant shopping experience. Mockingbirds' owner, Sundi, is amazing and always willing to help me out with my decorating dilemmas. I definitely recommend making Mockingbird a priority on your next Southern Pines outing!! read more
