As a lifelong Valrico local, I've fueled up at plenty of gas stations, but St. Cloud Station at…read more3802 Durant Rd has become my go-to for more than just gas. This CITGO station isn't your average fill-up spot--it's a reliable, well-run gem that offers top-notch service, clean facilities, and a convenience store stocked with everything you need on the go. After checking out other reviews and my own experiences, I'm giving St. Cloud Station five stars for its consistent quality, friendly staff, and the way it makes every stop a breeze. The pumps at St. Cloud Station are always in good shape, with TOP TIER™ CITGO TriCLEAN® gasoline that keeps my car running smooth. I've never had issues with the fuel, and reviews on sites like Yelp and GasBuddy echo that sentiment, praising the station for competitive prices and clean fuel. The station's open daily from 5 AM to 11 PM, which is perfect for early morning runs or late-night fill-ups. I've popped in during the day for a quick tank top-off, and the pumps are fast and easy to use, with plenty of them to avoid long waits, even during rush hours. The convenience store is a standout. It's clean, well-lit, and packed with snacks, drinks, and essentials--think ice-cold sodas, chips, and even some local goodies. Other reviewers on Yelp have noted the store's variety, with one mentioning a great selection of coffee and snacks for the road. I'm a fan of their energy drinks and beef jerky, perfect for a quick grab-and-go. The staff are a big part of why this place shines--always friendly, quick to ring you up, and ready with a smile. One review on Foursquare called the service "top-notch," and I agree; the folks behind the counter make you feel like a regular, even if you're just passing through. What sets St. Cloud Station apart is the little things. The lot is spotless, with no trash or spilled fuel, which isn't always the case at other stations. Reviews on GasBuddy highlight the clean facilities, and I've never seen a pump out of order or a messy restroom. They also offer the Club CITGO app for fuel rewards, which saves a few cents per gallon--a nice perk for frequent visitors like me. Prices are fair for the area; I've seen gas here consistently at or below nearby stations, and other reviews confirm it's one of the cheaper spots in Valrico. Sure, some might say it's just a gas station, but St. Cloud Station goes beyond the basics. It's reliable, welcoming, and feels like a true community hub. I've been coming here for years, whether for a quick fill-up, a snack run, or just to chat with the staff while grabbing a coffee. For its clean setup, quality fuel, and stellar service, St. Cloud Station gets five stars. It's the kind of place that makes Valrico feel like home, and I'll keep swinging by whenever I'm on the road.

It protects against unpaid fuel Without the hold, someone could: * Pump gas * Not have enough funds The hold reduces that risk. 3. It checks your card is valid It confirms: * Your card works * You have available funds/credit What actually happens to your money * The $100 is NOT a real charge * After you finish pumping: * The actual amount replaces it (e.g., $42.17) * The extra hold amount is released How long does the hold last? * Credit cards: usually same day to 1-2 days * Debit cards: can take 1-5 business days (sometimes longer) Debit cards feel worse because it temporarily ties up your cash How to avoid big holds * Pay inside (you can set a specific amount like $30) * Use a credit card instead of debit * Some stations let you preselect an amount on the pump Simple takeaway That $100 hold is just a temporary placeholder, not what you're actually being charged.
