If you've got a boat that's older than 15 years and you have trouble while at Lake Shelbyville or…read moreany other lake near this place, forget about getting service! You may as well cut your trip short and go home. I had problems with the cooling system on my 1995 Mercury Black Max while fishing Lake Shelbyville. I called this joint to ask for help and was told by a "mechanic" who sounded like he was all of about 14 years old that they only work on outboard motors that are 15 years old or newer. I then asked if there was anything at all that they could do to help me out and the response was "NOPE". This place opened a couple years ago and it seems they don't want to be known as the "go to" place in Shelbyville, a town with a 22 mile long lake a few blocks from it. How Stupid!!! If you need parts or service for your boat when in this area, try Wiback Marine Service 217-825-9961 or Chip's Marine 217-728-2610. They actually have adults working there and will be happy to help you out.

We spoke in June and he said it'd be done then could not get ahold of his for over 6 weeks. At first we left messages but then the answering machine was turned off. We stopped by 4 times during "office hours" with no one there. I finally called the sheriffs department about picking it up because I was so irritated. We ended up not picking it up for another week but did get a hold of him finally after calling the day before to find out it still was not fixed. I will never take my boat here again. He does not call you back and doesn't respond to Facebook messages either. I'd give 0 stars if possible. We are taking it out tomorrow to see if it's actually fixed.
