Maybe I'm biased because we used to live in the same apartment complex but he is just great. It's wonderful to have a positive personality when you walk into a gas station convenience store. I can't imagine that the job is very easy, stress-free or relaxing. Also, the gas prices here aren't bad. In the past, they have been lower than average but right now they are about average. Considering the other prices in the area, you can't do much better unless you venture out of town. This is my complaint: a few months ago they started allowing a car-cleaner business that sells cleaning spray park it's employees at this Mobil and harass anyone coming in to get gas to try and buy their product. It's gotten to the point that when I see one of these guys coming towards my car, I either A) Tell them immediately I'm not interested B) Jump into my car and speed off or C) Take out the dog to scare them away (all depends on whether I'm done pumping gas, who is coming at me, and how I feel like dealing with it that day). The product is complete crap, I DID give it a try once as the saleswoman said it would remove bugs from my bumper.... all it did was put an awful smear all over my paint job and my windshield that didn't come off until I scrubbed it with dish soap. Dish soap, people, is the cure-all for exterior car cleaning. Not unknown aerosols that people try to sell you at the pump! It's so unfortunate when legitimate businesses that I want to patronize are ruined by hood stuff like sketchy salespeople and sketchy products. Please get rid of them! I'd rather buy perfume in unmarked bottles from the crazy lady at 7-11 than this garbage. As for the gas station and it's specific employees, still great.

I've tried beef patties from restaurants that didn't even taste this good. It surprised me how fresh they were for something from a convenience store. They also have these sausage kolaches that are soft and filled with juicy sausage. It's the kind of thing that makes you want to come back the next morning just to get another one. The food was sitting under the warm lights, but it didn't taste old or dry. It tasted fresh like they had just made it. I was honestly shocked in a good way. You wouldn't expect food like this from a 7-Eleven, but they really deliver here. The store itself was very clean. The coffee machines were wiped down, the floors were not sticky, and the shelves were neat. That's something I pay attention to, because not all convenience stores keep up with cleanliness, but this one does. There was no trash overflowing by the doors, and the counters were clear. It made the whole experience feel more pleasant and made me want to stay a few extra minutes and browse. It wasn't just a run-in-and-leave kind of place. The lady working at the front was really nice. She smiled and greeted me like I was a regular even though it was my first time there. She moved fast but never rushed anyone, and she had a calm, friendly attitude the whole time. It's small things like that that make me want to return. For a quick breakfast or snack in the morning, this place is now one of my go-to spots in Tampa.

Unfortunately, after a recent experience inside the store, I'll probably be going to a different Wawa a little farther away. While cleaning my house, I found a WaWa gift card and decided to use it for gas. This was my first time using a Wawa gift card to pay for gas, so I wasn't familiar with the process. I've also had employees at other stores check gift card balances before, so I assumed this was something that could be done at Wawa as well. I went inside to pay, and the man at the register was extremely unhelpful and unkind. He was busy talking to a someone behind the counter and didn't even greet customers. I understand that Wawa may not be able to check the balance of a physical gift card in the store, but I would have appreciated being told that upfront and directed to the 800 number by the employee instead of the interaction I had. He simply pointed out that the amount was written on the back in Sharpie. I explained that I had found the card while cleaning and didn't know whether the amount written on it was accurate and hoped that he could swipe the card to check the balance. He also didn't explain that I needed to try the card in card reader. He just stared at me and didn't really talk. What bothered me most was the lack of basic courtesy and assistance. I was made to feel as though I should have already known how the process worked, even though it was my first time using a Wawa gift card for gas. I'll continue to stop at Wawa for their prices, but I'll be going to a different location in the future in hopes of receiving better customer service.
