They are also very thorough at checking my vehicle out to flag any needed additional work, ALL of which has been items that I needed. I have also gone in thinking I would need an expensive repair, only to have them discover the root cause of my issue being something far less expensive to fix. On top of helping me with my pocketbook for repairs, their service is OUTSTANDING. They go out of their way in service as well, being great for working around my busy schedule. On occasions when I've been in a very tight bind for transportation, they've even offered me a loaner car! They are eager to help in any way possible and have had my loyal business for many many years. I now also consult them when I am looking for a new (used) car and have gotten great cars at a great price (3 times now). I cannot recommend them highly enough. We are VERY lucky to have them as a business in Northborough, but I'd travel to use their service.

There were 3 old guys INSIDE at the counter at the front of the store, none were wearing masks. A young kid came in to get a drink, no mask. Of the 7 people in the store (including me) only 2 of us had masks on (I was one of them.) Just unacceptable. If your employees aren't willing to wear masks, get new employees and it's your responsibility to have at least one employee on duty who will enforce the mask requirement. It's aggravating. This isn't Georgia. I won't be back.

Craig the owner of this store was spooked when we walked in for we were in town for the Scream Town Convention. My daughter was in costume and looked in danger. Her costume was too life like and we informed the public that she was fine. So is she, mentally wise. The customer service was beyond the best level we have seen. It's also bring your dog to work each and every day too. The dog, Rocky was so happy and loving. We sat and had some coffee with Rocky and Craig learning about each others home town. Well, if you're like me, then you may already know that Peterson is conveniently located on the west bound side of Rt. 9, and they are nearly always the cheapest in the area...at least for 93 octane gas. I grew up in NJ where it was illegal to pump your own gas. So, I don't mind pumping my own gas. I'm a responsible adult. But, Peterson will pump your gas for you, which admittedly, can be really nice when it is raining or below freezing, as it is so often here in New England. They told me they replaced all 4 spark plugs and engine filter due to a misfire on cylinder 1. On Wednesday, July 23, my engine light came back on. I called and got the car in next day. I was told that the car had coolant leaking and that I could have a cracked head gasket - costing well over $3k but that they weren't sure that was 100% the issue. I took my car back to get a second opinion. If my car had really had a bad head gasket my engine would have overheated, I would have smelled anti freeze in the oil, and/or notice black smoke when driving. I had none of these symptoms. Take a look at the supposedly "new" spark plugs. There is no way that these spark plugs were two weeks old. My new mechanic actually replaced the spark plugs and ignition coils. This place also intentionally unplugged my vacuum line so my new mechanic had to fish for it and replace it. I do not recommend this place and Fred's service. I feel manipulated as a woman taking her car to be fixed and being told certain things were done and bigger fixes needed to be made. It looks to me that they just took the code off, wanted me to come back, tell me it was a bigger service, allow them to fix it, and then actually replace the spark plugs for way over the price. I cannot believe such awful mechanics exist. Please, do not take your car here. You are better off finding a different mechanic. There is absolutely no way these were the spark plugs that were supposedly replaced on July 17. I am doubtful this shop has Ford spark plugs, that these would have so much buildup after just two weeks, one is cracked, and one isn't gapped. This is not the place for quality service.
