This is agritourism at its enjoyable and educational best. We noticed the inconspicuous roadside B&B sign while driving through Wales at last light, and boy what a find. This is a working farm whose owners have converted a portion of their very old house into an inviting B&B environment, including three cozy rooms and a very nice garden and relaxation area. The farm is run by an ever-busy family of four who nonetheless took time to engage us in conversation and offer warm hospitality. Breakfast in the morning was excellent, including raw farm milk when we inquired about it. Before we drove off, the father and son graciously gave us a comprehensive guided tour of their multifaceted operation. Making a go of it requires a combination of toil, science, and economic management. Staying here contributes to the success of a family that raises cattle, grows crops, lodges visitors, and holds down outside jobs. Despite our brief stay, we left with very warm feelings. An excellent value, too, at GBP 60 for a double with hearty breakfast (in April). read more
