And my sister's been going to ballet here even before the building had been renovated and the dimly lit ground floor waiting area had a cake shop. Good times. Now, even though Academy One only has one large dance studio left upstairs, a couple of instrument lesson rooms at the back, and a small waiting area in front, they still provide top notch education. They offer jazz, classical and modern ballet, piano, voice, and guitar lessons. It's affiliated with the Australian Conservatory of Ballet and the London-based Royal Academy of Dance so for sure the ballet classes are excellent. (Only complaint is the schedule can be erratic at times - sometimes ending surprisingly early, other times extending for half an hour.) They have an annual recital in CCP at the end of the summer program to showcase the growing talent not just in the dance students, but also those who learn various instruments. I think it's a good way to get kids used to the performance side of performing arts.
That's my sister on the tarp! Hehe

I took a fantastic photography course at the Philippine Center For Creative Imaging (PCCI). I…read morerecommend the school for all those who loves photography and everything related to image - graphic design, typography, film editing and so on. It's actually the only training center authorized by Canon here in the country. The course I took was "Travel & Cultural Documentary Photography", by Tilak Hettige. The professor is highly qualified and have years of experience. I can say I took the most of this three-day workshop. On the first meeting the group had a introductory lecture on the subject. Then the next day the we went to Pila, a historic town two hours from Manila. There we had a whole-day shoot on location in order to practice what he had just learnt. Based on the course I took, I surely recommend PCCI. It's located at Chino Roces Avenue, close to Pasong Tamo Extension. The courses are a little bit pricey, it's true, but it's worth it because of the quality.

My cousin helped me look…read morefor good schools and he stumbled upon the Philippine Center for Creative Imaging also known as PCCIC. The school had good reviews so we inquired and visited the school in Pasong Tamo. When I got there, I knew that it was the right place to study in. I immediately enrolled the following day! it was just three days but i learned so much and all for a little over 8,000 php. It included your own booklet, the use of all their computers and facilities, unlimited coffee/hot choco (during lecture), unlimited snacks (during lecture), and included food for lunch. The food was really good too. The teacher was really good. He explained all the fundamentals very well and it made everyone understand easily. The hands on activities and exercises suited each topic. It really helped me master the tools in the software. After those three days, I was confident in using the Adobe Photoshop for all the things I needed it for. We were also given a certificate that certifies we finished our Adobe Photoshop (CS6 & cc) Basics. I find their facilities really nice. The place had the atmosphere for learning. I felt focused and relaxed. PCCIC doesn't only offer Photoshop classes. They also offer different types of photography and software basics. I really recommend this for those who want to learn. It is a fulfilling experience and I promise that you wouldn't be wasting your time.

By real life I mean dealing not with those hypothetical situations we see when we're studying grammar, but with daily and vivid language - with it's idioms, slangs and informality. That's why I decided to look for English classes here in Makati. I wanted a conversation class with a native teacher, so I could "reproduce" in the classroom real situations I was facing in my life. After some research, I've found American English Center, located just a walking distance from my place. Although the school is tiny, it has 2 comfortable classrooms and some cabins for individual courses. Teachers are very skilled and committed to the students and their personal goals. My teacher, James, comes from the US and he's very funny! I certainly recommend him.

I could tell that this has been one of the highlights of her life because singing really is one of her passions and I'm really glad that we found this school for the perfect place to hone her skill. The teachers are very well-trained and if you're lucky enough, you even get to be taught by the infamous Ryan Cayabyab, one of the most popular Filipino maestros around. Every summer, they hold annual auditions for their students to perform of which my sister took part of for almost every year in preparation for the recital which they usually hold at the Music Museum. What I also like about this school is that more than the voice lessons, they also teach other instruments such as guitar, drums, piano, you name it! Definitely a holistic music school!

First off, they offer a wide array of musical instruments, musical accessories, and musical pieces for education. They are a bit pricey, but definitely not overpriced. Besides, we want quality instruments, am I right? I believe that their prices stand up with their quality, so stretch those few bills to get the optimum level. Secondly, their musical classes are also vast in instruments: they offer piano, violin, guitar, drums and other famous instruments for education. Their schedules are flexible, and their instructors are very much knowledgeable and kind. Lastly, their music shop is conducive and private: they have separate rooms for one-on-one teaching, which will guarantee each of your lessons will be maximized with little distractions.

It was easily portable, light, and I had heard great things about it. It turned out to be true! It was possible to learn the most basic chords in one day and strum along and sing to some of the most popular songs today. That was crazy. For this ephemeral season in my life, I am grateful to LYRIC for providing me with the a basic ukulele starter kit as well as a tuner to go long with. That was a complete stroke of luck and I'm really grateful because my helper was able to learn three new recipes from the classes. It struck me as a little different that there were so many male students, while we in Educ were lucky if there were five males in the whole batch. But I'm glad that both colleges get more and more students regardless of genders. It breaks stereotypes and enables empowerment. PROS: This is AS's twin building, so architecturally they have the same features - two flights of stairs to the entrance lobby, asymmetric wings, huge pillars, even floor murals by Arturo Luz. But you could notice that their classrooms are more recently renovated and that they obviously have more donors, as most of these new rooms are named after said donors; It has a really large student population and a bigger number of organizations than other colleges. But it doesn't feel crowded nor are the org "tambayans" in a disarray; There's a sundial outside! CONS: They have an elevator, but it's broken so meh; Their cafeteria is always crowded. TL;DR: The College of Engineering is one of UP-Diliman's more well-known programs, and its structure is a symbol of the strong institution.
