Hair was left all over the floor, and the overall space did not feel maintained. I did not see tools like combs or scissors being cleaned between clients. At one point, the same scissors appeared to be used after a customer had a cut, without being sanitized. Staff did not appear to wash their hands between clients. The broom used for cleaning looked very dirty. The restroom did not have soap available and did not appear hygienic. The salon also had an unpleasant smell. Overall, the lack of professionalism, poor hygiene practices, and the way I was treated make this a place I would not recommend.

When I booked the appointment I asked about their stylists and asked to please match me with someone who was good with long hair cuts as I had very long hair. My hair texture is simple. Straight hair but it was long. The front desk paired me with a stylist for a hair cut and blow dry . I was 20 minutes late to said appointment and I take full responsibility for that. I was fully prepared for my appointment to be cancelled without a refund on the deposit. When I arrived I could tell the stylist was annoyed which I totally understood considering my late arrival. (I did call to let them know I was running late ) Because I had booked a hair cut and blow dry, theoretically, she should have had sufficient time for the cut but perhaps not the blow dry. I was very clear that I didn't need the blow dry and that the hair cut alone would do just fine. I would have been okay with being charged for the blow dry even if it wasn't done as that was what was scheduled. Instead, the stylist accepted me and proceeded with the appointment. She was visibly annoyed which made me uncomfortable but I stayed in good faith . She was personable during the appointment. We chatted throughout but I was concerned with the way she was cutting my hair . I am not a hair stylist so I thought maybe I was over thinking it and just needed to trust the process. I was incredibly wrong. The hair was left ridiculously uneven, not the shape we discussed and left me with a "rat tail". She went up so high on the sides so that I would have to essentially cut 6 or more inches off to even everything out. I cannot prove it but I am convinced this was done on purpose as a way to get back at me for coming late. When she finished the hair cut I knew something was off but couldn't really look at it properly until I had arrived at home. Even though I knew it was off , I decided to still tip the stylist 15 dollars as a courtesy and my way of apologizing for being late. The tip was not because I felt the hair cut was done well. When I got home I saw just how bad it was. I was so upset and dumbfounded that I wanted to cry . The next day I contacted the salon to inform them of what happened. I called looking to speak to the salon owner because this was not a small mistake. The salon owner never called me personally to discuss the situation . The receptionist, who said he was the lead, handled all communication between the owner and I. I was offered to have the hair cut redone with a different stylist (I made it clear I would not feel comfortable with the initial stylist) at no extra cost to me. That didn't work out for me so I asked for a refund which they obliged. Although the owner herself wasn't responsible for my hair cut, I feel she should have called to discuss the matter with me personally . I am very disappointed not only with the stylist but with the owner for not providing better customer service. I do not recommend this hair salon and will never return again.

I have been going to this place since the 90s which was recommended to me by a co-worker. It is more than 20 miles from my house. I met with Ev, the owner and have become fast friends with her ever since. Ev does a marvelous job with my hair and I tell you I'm the kind of customer that colors the hair and perms it! I have gone through all the colors from that color wheel and Ev begged me to get a wig as she was so concerned my hair would fall out from all that chemical stress I do with color. I changed colors all the time, I perm every 6 months and I am always changing my look. Through it all and due to Ev's expertise, my hair has maintained a healthy outlook; she is very knowledgeable not only about sytle but the chemical components of what gets put on your hair from shampoos and other hair products. She may not agree with what I want to do with my hair due to the concern she has of what those chemicals will do to my hair but she makes it work. The staff is all professionals and has fun doing their jobs. I have seen firsthand how all the customers get the white glove treatment and everyone is made to feel special and beautiful. This is a rare salon these days where the customers get treated with the utmost excellent service, and the prices have remained pretty reasonable over the years. The staff stays on top of their craft and I have never had any negative experience in all the years I have come here. I stayed loyal to this place because of EV and how she treats her customers. read more

From the positive review I read about Michelle, I decided to switch salons and give her a try. Unfortunately, it was a big mistake. Not only did she not match the color I had, she made my hair darker. I specifically told her I didn't want my hair any darker. Plus, the top half of my hair is a darker color than my bottom half. I, also, think she left me under the dryer too long. I'm having a tough time removing the dye from the exposed area of my scalp. AMAZING!! I went to KATE for an ombre and it is exactly what i asked for!! Also i have never ever had any hair dresser only trim the ends as specified, this may not seem like a big deal but we all know going in and asking for one thing and getting more cut because they "saw the damage" Anyway Kate kept the integrity of my hair and curls while making it the perfect ashy blonde!!!
