The beach itself is alright all that ocean water yet no waves crash the shore, theyres pleanty sand to spread a towel and plop down fir an afternoon The island is completely overrun with ridiculously rich people living in giant beach houses that cost millions of dollars, i was in one. A friend was havingbit completely wired for dound, remote lighting, security cameras, etcetera. It depresses the hell out of me, honestly, seeing all those phony millionaires strutting around like they own the ocean. ​Right on Middle Street, there's this place called Poe's Tavern, named after Edgar Allan Poe. He was here doing something long before he wrote all those awesome creepy poems. They have these giant burgers named after his stories like "The Pit & Pendulum" or "The Gold-Bug", I get "Tell Tale Heart". The burgers are actually pretty great, thick and juicy with pimento cheese and bacon, even if the whole Poe themed artwork on every wall is not even a little phony. ​Want to tip a few pints? Will then head on over to Dunleavy's Pub. It's a cash only Irish dive bar run by a bunch of diehard Boston Red Sox fans if memory serves me correctly which completely killed me because im a Yankee fan and when you walk inside and there are Red Sox pennants and neon signs plastered all over a beach bar in South Carolina. But they serve ice cold beers in pitchers, and honest pints andb nobody gives a damn if you're still covered in sand from the beach in a Yankees hat. If you're stuck on Sullivans Island and need a solid burger and a cold beer without taking off your sandals or flip flops, those two dpits arevworth a trip even if the sight of all those wealthy beach houses makes you want to throw up.

If your kid is under 42", they cannot go on the larger tube slides (even with an adult), so be aware there are two slides they will not be able to use. It felt a bit expensive for the amount of things available, but we still stayed for about 5 hours and felt totally worth it on a hot summer days.

Her mom couldn't ride down the small slide with her, which ok, not fully horrible but disappointing. We waiting 2 hours for a tube for the lazy river, never once got one. People hogged the tubes and floated for long period of time. The entrance fee 15.99 per adult is definitely not worth it. I would say maybe 10 tops.

Although, I was tired after the first 30 minutes, My 4 year old nephew had the best time of is life and kept running around and going on every slide for the full 2 hours . You do need to buy their socks and they do not accept identical socks from other similar attractions , but you get to re-use them at least when you visit again. They also do adult parties, which might be a lot of fun for groups looking for some adventure

Chase was the nicest young man who got us checked in effortlessly and was so helpful when I needed to buy my daughter a T-shirt to change into. Our hostesses, Ava and Raven, were nothing short of spectacular. Our entire party was well taken care of and they were SO polite! It's not often I see teens/young adults with the work ethic I witnessed from not only them, but everyone I encountered who works there. I made a point to speak with the manager, Jamie to let her know that she was doing an incredible job with her staff. If you need a child friendly event to host I highly recommend Adrenaline Monkey. We will definitely be back!!

I treated myself to a leisurely walk around Colonial Lake in the Harleston Village the other day…read more It's so pretty, surrounded by historic homes on the Broad, Ashley, Beaufain & Rutledge Streets. The lake itself is tidal & has very well manicured gardens and beautifully paved sidewalks. It's the ideal location for running or walking. They also have well place benches to just soak up the sun or fresh air. The peace & quiet is great. I'm ashamed to say it was my first time really exploring this area of Charleston. I'll definitely return here again. Lovely
