Merida still does not have good sushi. This place is way overpriced for the quality. Rolls are over priced, breaded shrimp tastes like costco, tuna is decent, But served warm and some bites were fishy. Service kind of sucked. We enjoyed this restaurant with a local friend and his wife. The restaurant was very nice and modern. When we arrived an order of fresh fish with caviar and pepper was sent over to our table. It was very good in a flavored broth. We ordered two rolls, one with salmon and shrimp and the other with tuna. Both were excellent, especially the fresh tuna. For entree's we ordered a chicken teriyaki dish, a fried shrimp noodles, and a fresh salmon sushi. Everyone at the table enjoyed their dish. Superb! Amazing Asian food in a unique atmosphere. The setting is A+++!!! Brilliant whomever planned this structure to incorporate a living, breathing tree and a koi pond underneath. After being extremely disappointed by sushi restaurants in Mexico over and over again, I finally found my gem. I'm used to California sushi- we love our sushi- so saying this place is amazing is something I don't take lightly. 100% the sushi is 10/10. So much variety, fresh, and high quality. Even the drinks are great - plenty of delicious desserts too. Only giving it 4 stars because the service from the staff is consistently poor. They never check on you to see if you need refill on your drinks, more sauces, or anything at all. They also take forever to bring your check to you. However, if I grade this based on the quality of the food alone, I would definitely give it full 5 stars. It's so great to finally find a sushi place I can go to here. read more

I used to love this restaurant and I rarely write Yelp reviews, but lunch yesterday was abysmal. I had a mixed sushi plate, and the fish was dry, almost un-chewable the rice was not sushi rice (it was sticky.) Sushi rice is quite unique in its ability to bind together and form the backbone to various types of sushi. My fish was not able to bind to the rice at all. I had to specially ask for wasabi and soy sauce and there was no ginger in eyesight. The price for this mess was excessive. I'm not sure if I will give it one more try because I did enjoy Miyabi on other visits. The service was good. read more

Probably some of the best Japanese food I've had since 3 years living in Tokyo. We took a birthday group from work and ordered the Gyoza, both fried and steamed, which were heaven along with the Spicy Edamame which are actually better than the edamame I've had before. Group ordered everything from Ebisu Sushi Roll, the Thick Tuna Sashimi, and the Udon Noodles, and a few shrimp and rice dishes. Everything was incredible. The sashimi was to die for!!! We go to Miyabi frequently, and everything we've ever had is delicious. Sushi, tempura, and udon soups are all great. They have quality ingredients and care for the preparation of the food. I've tried other sushi places in Merida and I'm always disappointed. Miyabi is definitely the place to go for good Japanese food. read more
