Paid upfront for a small roof repair on 9/2 and have been trying to get Mitchell Roofing & Siding to complete the work for 2 months. All I get from April in the office is empty promises about calling me back to schedule. After 7 weeks April calls me to let me know they will be here Friday morning to complete the work that they were paid for 2 months ago. I take a vacation day off from work yesterday to make sure I'm here and available. Guess what. No show and no call. Given all the positive responses on their page and being called out in Best of Mitchell, I thought they were a reputable business that had a great customer experience. My experience doesn't reflect that at all. I am very disappointed in Mitchell Roofing & Siding for taking my money and not completing the repairs in the time frame I was given (3 weeks). It's been 8 weeks now and I feel cheated. Live and learn I guess. read more

absolutely horrible!! the guy wouldn't even give us a quote until he new what our insurance company was paying us! he wanted to take all of our money and then some!! he ran down every company and how bad of a job they all do!! I threw his flyer right in the garbage in front of him he was so unprofessional I couldn't even look at him! pretty much told him to leave!! horrible customer service!! Negative 5 stars!!!! read more

I wish that more people would post a review on Yelp!! My parents are elderly and Mitchell Roofing did some work for them. The work didn't even hold up for three months! I went to visit them and called "Matt" in quality assurance only get lip service to let his guys "get out here in the next 6-8 weeks to repair it. That was 7 months ago and even tho there have been several calls and texts between Matt and myself, they have done NOTHING!! I wish I could get a hold of the owner to let him know what's going on but I am told that he wouldn't be able to talk to me because " he is in meetings all day" If anyone knows the owners name please let me know!! If I were you, hire a company that stands by their work, that company however is NOT Mitchell Roofing. I feel that my elderly parents were taken advantage of!!!! read more

If I could give zero stars I would. They improperly installed our skylights and we now have snow falling in our house. Oh and IF you can get a hold of them they are still unwilling to do anything about their so called "guaranteed" work. This is a must read. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH MITCHELL'S!! read more

If I could leave a lower star I would. Do yourself a favor and stay away from them. They gave us a bid on shingling and siding our home. They also told us that they would replace a patio door even told us what a patio door would cost. And come to find out they don't do anything with a patio door. It took them over a year to get to our house to even start working and then their first crew did the wrong side of our house and ended up getting fired. Then we had to wait another several months to get another crew and then they still didn't finish it waiting for the owner to approve what the other crew did because they did it wrong. My husband and son-in-law had to get back up on top of the house and nail shingles down so that they would not blow off. We had to hire somebody else to come and fix siding. They charged us more than they said they were going to. We would call and call and call to never get a call back from the owner! Then they billed us before the job was even done. When they finally finished what they considered finished they sent us a bill for more than what they said they were going to so I sent a check for what they told us it was going to be and they had a lawyer get involved to help settle the bill. We still ended up paying more than what we thought we were supposed to have to pay! We will never ever ever recommend this place to anybody! Stay away from them if you care at all about the work that they do or the amount that they charge! They will tell you one thing and do another! read more

Mitchell Roofing did my shingles and gutters. The shingles turned out well (aside from the fact that they did not get a building permit and I had the city call and mail me a letter saying that it was required, and Mitchell Roofing dragged their feet about getting a permit to the city). The gutter experience was awful. They showed up at 6:45 unannounced and started working on the house. When I went out the front door at 7 am one of them said with attitude, "Oh, is it too early?" They climbed over my fence to get to the backyard and broke the fence, pulling one side away from the main part. When I brought these complaints to Mitchell Roofing, all they said was that they subcontract the gutter work and "only do the billing" so they do not back up the gutter work. I did not hire these gutter people. I hired Mitchell Roofing and they refuse to do anything about it. read more

I am truly delighted with the final results! My house had severe dry rot on half dozen siding boards around the dryer exhaust vent. When providing the initial estimate, he carefully examined the damaged area, listened to my requirements and completely and clearly understood the job that needed to be done. He removed the broken pieces, replaced with new siding, installed new dryer vent hoods and metal shields, and re-caulked the decayed and worn out corner that was also falling apart and needed to be repaired. The painting job was remarkable, matched the existing paint color very exactly, I can't see any difference in the shade or texture at all ! It's a really big improvement and the house looks like new ! Actually I consider this an good investment because it adds value to the property. Also, I should mention that Anthony is a nice guy to chat with about home maintenance in general, he has a lot of helpful information and is just pleasant to interact with. Anthony has the right tools, the right equipment, and most importantly the right combination of knowledge, talent, and experience to tackle this important home improvement project. I really appreciate his work ethic and skill. I found him to be honest, trustworthy, and responsive to my communication by phone and email. I also feel the price I paid was totally fair and reasonable given the quality of the work and attention to detail. Overall, highly recommended! Called E&C for a quote and they arrived on time when promised. Bid was provided quickly and…read moreaccepted. They then told me when they would be onsite to do the job (siding). They arrived that morning exactly when they said... which is not typical for many contractors. The work was excellent. They kept in communication with me and told me about some problem areas that were discovered during removal of the old siding. They could have just covered these areas up and moved on, but they wanted it repaired right, so they cut out the old wood, installed some new sheathing, and then sealed all the windows properly with Vycor (self sealing tape). They installed house wrap and then the siding the way it should have been done the first time. Based upon their attention to detail it is quite clear this siding job will last for decades. Very pleased with the quality of work and the entire experience. Even their cleanup was superb - they used tarps to catch debris and even went over the entire area with a magnetic sweeper to pick up any dropped nails. Cannot say enough about these guys - they work hard and deliver a quality result. E&C is now on my short list of contractors that I trust and use time and time again. My siding is now better than new and I hope I don't need a new roof anytime soon, but if the next big hail storm hits I can promise you I'll be contacting E&C without a doubt. Well done guys. Products used: Tyvek House Wrap, Vycor Self-Sealing Membrane, LP SmartSide pre-primed siding and trim.

This man is a criminal who has over one hundred firearms seized as reported by contractors ( https://www.roofingcontractor.com/articles/99598-125-firearms-seized-in-raid-on-south-dakota-roofing-business ) Since then, he has repeatedly threatened his child on social media, screaming at him and threatening to beat him for not shooting a gun. He has gone viral for being such a horrific parent and putting his children in danger. I would never want to work with a contractor who beats children, and as someone who has spent most of my life in the Dakotas.... damn, almost anyone else is both a better worker and a better father than this public disgrace. How can you trust this dude to fix your house when all he can do is destroy? I would instead recommend Caliber LLC in Hamlin County, who did excellent work on my family's property, and have always been kind to our kids and animals. read more

We had a number of appointments set up to get an estimate for our roof. 3 companies never showed up,1 was almost 2 hours late and another was so pushy that I was not impressed. When Cory, the owner of Mitchell Roofing, came, he was right on time, very professional and definitely new his business. I was so impressed that had I not signed with them I would have been crazy. Not sure why all the bad reviews. We had our roof and siding replaced with Mitchell Roofing and the guys were very courteous and when I asked them to not start working until 10am so my child could sleep they were happy to accommodate. The workers made sure they picked up all the materials around my yard as I take good care of my garden and yard and would not tolerate anything less. Would hire them again in the future. Great company! Talked with the owner he had his guys out quick. Got my quote and they beat everyone around by at least $1000. After ordering all my supplies they were back out to get my roof done.
