Dr. Maudlin is exceptional. He was able to answer all of my questions and provide me with the glasses I needed. What a great experience!

If I could give a place zero stars, I would. Most businesses operate with some form of integrity,…read morebut this place clearly has none. It has been made abundantly clear to me that they value making money over quality patient care. I was seen for an eye exam on 3/27 and explained to the eye doctor that I had been having some eye pain and had been using eye drops. The doctor looked at my eyes and gave me a trial pair of contacts with my new prescription. I went home that weekend and experienced a considerable amount of eye pain, to the point where I could not put my trial contacts in my eyes. So the following Monday, 3/31, I called Insights Optical and told the receptionist who answered my phone call that I had been seen on 3/27 and had been experiencing eye pain all weekend. She asked if I'd like to come in and be seen by the doctor, to which I said yes. At the eye appointment on 3/31, I was told that I had some inflammation in my eyes and prescribed some steroid eye drops. The doctor told me he wanted to see me back the following week for a follow up visit. My follow up visit was on 4/7 and my eyes did appear to be doing better, so the appointment was very brief. At that appointment I also opted to invest in a pair of glasses as I did not have any with my newest prescription and ended up paying $430.00 for a new pair of glasses due to my insurance only paying for contacts. I received my bill from the eye doctor for $150.00. When I checked the charges, I saw that I had been charged $75 for my follow up visits. At the time, I figured there must have been a mistake made on their end since the visit on 3/31 had technically only been 2 business days since I'd been seen. I called Insights Optical and was given the email address of the office coordinator there to discuss my charges. I emailed the office coordinator and explained my situation and was told that my follow up visits were related to an eye problem I was having and I was prescribed a steroid which required monitoring and that the three visits were "unrelated to the initial eye exam." I responded back to office coordinator explaining my frustrations as I did express discomfort with my eyes at the initial exam and told her that I did not understand why I was being charged for the full office visit as the follow up appointments were very brief, and certainly not the length of a full eye exam. I had sent the 2nd email on April 29th and never heard a response back. So, on May 5th, I sent a follow up email to see if the office coordinator had received my email as I told her I hadn't heard anything back and wanted to make sure she had received it. She replied back telling me she did respond to my email on April 29th. I looked back through my messages and did not see where she ever answered any of my questions pertaining to why I was being charged for the full office visit and told her that. All the office coordinator said in her response was that she responded to my original email. So it seems Insights Optical is choosing to uphold what they originally said and waive any of my charges irregardless of how greedy they may seem. I will not be retuning to this office, and I suggest you never make the mistake I did by coming here. There are so many other eye doctors in the area who will not charge for a follow up visit and will offer better patient care and answer any questions you may have instead of ignoring the problem and hoping it goes away!
