Poor communication, availability, diagnosing. You can wait weeks for a call back. Much better providers out there.

Okay, so, had 2 parasitic infections in which the amoeba lies dormant and wreaks havoc when my body is not optimal. I also have stage 3 Endometriosis in which my surgeon found that my colon was attached to my ovary. Endo and gastro issues are directly related. Yet, his notes so ignorant and condescending. I also found a wonderful integrative/functional medicine doctor who was able to find that I had low thyroid, low NK cells and B cells and low B, D and Selenium. So, no doc - it "ain't all in my head." Then, I get a phone call out of the blue to reschedule my abdominal ultrasound after 8 months of not hearing from them. So, why not. My insurance covers it... doesn't hurt to see what is going on. However, in light of the coronavirus school shut downs and working in a school needing to prepare for that and for my own children, I thought it was best to cancel. I mean, Who really wants to go to a doctor's office right now unless they absolutely need to and really need the help! So, I call to cancel. The rude, completely unprofessional woman on the phone asked me why I was canceling. I told her why. Her response was, "Whatever!" Wait, what?! I just laughed, but no way in hell would I ever return to such a negative environment. Sorry you just lost your $2000 or whatever you charge for your ultrasounds.

How would you like to go through the prep work for a colonoscopy and then have it cancelled last…read moreminute because of the doctor's staff's incompetency? Please know that when you call this office, you NEVER get a person. You are only prompted through a system until you get voice mail. Then, you will not get a call back for 2-3 days. In early April, my Doctor suggested I have a colonoscopy. He recommended Dr. Kancherla. I made an appointment for April 19 at 2:00 p.m. After reviewing the preparatory information, I realized that it was ludicrous that I could only eat clear liquids the day before, and nothing on the day of the procedure. I called back to change the time as I felt that by the time I arrived for the procedure I would be starving and dehydrated. I did not know how this could be a good way to enter into a procedure. The receptionist recommended Dr. Kancherla's partner, Dr. Sapienza. I scheduled an appointment for April 27 at 8:00 a.m. One week before the procedure, the office called and said their was a scheduling error and asked if I could move the procedure to April 28 at 7:30 a.m. (6:30 arrival). I said okay. Then again, on April 25, only 3 days before the procedure, the office called again with a scheduling problem and asked me to come on May 2. I was livid. There is enough stress going into a medical procedure without these shenanigans. I told them to cancel the procedure and never call me again. On April 26, the office called me again stating that the doctor "felt badly" and fixed the issue and, if I still wanted to come in, they could do the procedure on April 28. I said "okay" and they told me they would call me the day before to make sure everything was set. On the 27 at 4:00 p.m., after only drinking clear liquids the entire day, I was about to start the regimen of laxatives. Realizing that I was not yet called by the office, I tried to call them. Again, I could not reach a human being. I called my primary doctor's office and the manager said she would take care of it. So, at 4:20 I began the regimen of laxatives. Sapienza's office called at 4:33 p.m. and said there was an issue with my insurance. I flipped out. I know I have great coverage. The problem was that they called me after a time that I was able to get in touch with my health care manager to straighten the issue out before my scheduled 6:30 arrival the next morning. I was furious with this office's awful ethics. I have never seen such BLATANT DISREGARD FOR A PATIENT, HIS FEELINGS, HIS TIME AND HIS PHYSICALITY! The procedure was cancelled, but I had already begun the prep work. Long story short--I spent the next 12 hours on the toilet, emptying my guts and feeling terrible, all for nothing! Three years ago, my partner had an issue with the same doctor's office because they screwed up his insurance billing and he is still being billed monthly for their incompetence. I don't really know how good the doctors are, but their administrative offices are HORRIBLE! I could only assume that "poop filters down from the top!" I am in the midst of preparing an in-depth report to the AMA and I am seeking council to bring suit against this practice for the duress and pain and suffering they have inflicted on me. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PRACTICE! In my experience, I can absolutely say that they are incompetent and inconsiderate of their patients and their ethics are questionable.

He allows sufficient time during exams for explaining data, results and answering questions with as much specificity as a patient desires. Amrita Sethi is one doctor you should avoid at all cost! If you value your dignity and want real…read moreanswers about your health - go to a physician who cares. Dr. Sethi is a gastroenterologist that believes that once you sign the consent - which she gives to patients just seconds before procedures - you have no rights, and she and her students will do whatever they want with your body. Forget about your wishes, privacy and modesty during your exam, and whatever she promises to you before getting a colonoscopy or endoscopic procedure because none will be kept. All Dr. Sethi cares about is using her patients as lab rats to teach students/residents. You will be naked and unconscious with people coming in and out of the room as they take turn practicing on you while you're out and in pain and can't object. They use a strong narcotic (fentanyl) and two sedation drugs (Versed and Propofol) to keep patients unconscious for an hour; these procedures are normally done in 20 minutes or less. Versed is a drug that causes amnesia (and permanent long-term memory loss for many patients) and is used to keep patients from remembering any rough treatment that occurs during the procedure after the exam is over. Using patients as unwilling test subjects, by keeping them sedated at three times the amount of time it takes a good physician to do one of these procedures, is unethical and dangerous. Go to NYU Hospital, Beth Israel, Mount Sinai or any other place where there are stringent protocols and safeguards to avoid injury or death (like intestinal perforation) due to malpractice while under anesthesia. If you have had an unpleasant experience with Dr. Sethi, do what I did and file a complaint with the NEW YORK STATE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH: Office of Professional Medical Conduct. Some nurses have spoken out (anonymously) against this practice, but Dr. Sethi will not be held accountable for her actions until one of her patients dies from her reckless behavior or is seriously injured and sues her and Columbia Medical Center for their misleading and vague consent form. A consent form that gives legal cover and permits Dr. Sethi to violate patients without their knowledge before or after these procedures.
