I hope I'm using the right Mr. Handyman from the Norwalk area, but my experience was anything but…read more Contacted them to do a simple install of a wall mount for a TV. Got a quote sounded within reason (about $150 I think) and scheduled. Due to a snow storm we had to reschedule which is not their fault at all. The day the worker showed up I had it alll taped up where the mount should sit- where the studs were located. Realistically I could have done the job, but with investing in one of the first super high def, 85" TV in an apartment, I wanted the safety that it was professionally installed and if by some chance this tore out of the wall and destroyed a few thousand dollar TV- I wasn't on the hook. Guy showed up, never installed a mount before. Said he started with them only weeks ago and proceeded to sit on the floor reading the manual 3-4 times, taking all the bolts and screws out. Spent probably 3 hours prepping himself. Then he didn't have a tool he needed. We had to reschedule again. Second time, he was so nervous he called a buddy to help him (on his own dime) to make sure he was doing it correctly. we got the TV up and mounted (HEAVY) and he told me the bill was for about $500.00. The repairman couldn't have been nicer and he was brand new and didn't want to lose his job. I explained, I'm in no way upset with him, but for management to send out someone who never did this work before, underquoted me, and then place him in the position to do something he's uncomfortable with was unacceptable. I was on teh phone with i assume the manager for some time where he was basically telling me I was trying to skate out of the bill. We finally negotiated a price which I knew was going to be disputed right after the call. Happy to pay the quote, but not for someone to read instructions and burn 3 hours over 2 days trying to figure 1 TV mount. I gave the worker a good tip because it wasn't his fault and I truly felt bad for him as he was really trying hard to do it right. When I asked for a receipt from him, he said they never gave him any receipt book (Whole purose of the job) But I will NEVER use them again. I warn others to have a written estimate with a addendum that no additional fees are authorized without written documented reason.

Service (5/5): Our first TV arrived broken. German and his colleague did all the work, turned on the TV and saw there was a large gash at the bottom. They were incredibly kind to help box the TV back up. They didn't charge for this visit even when I insisted they take some money for their time. They returned a week later to install the second (now functional) TV without issue. Value (5/5): German's quote for the work was reasonable and worth every penny. He and his colleague were efficient and displayed excellent communication skills with one another and also with me. TL;DR: This job was a breeze for German and his crew and I can't wait to hire him for other handyman work around my house. Highly recommend their services to all in Westchester.

Shannon responded immediately & made himself available at my convenience, Thanksgiving week. He worked the night before Thanksgiving until almost midnight & spent almost 6 hours working the day after Thanksgiving. He did everything from mounting a tv, hanging 2 large mirrors, to building furniture that I ordered, to hanging pictures, to carrying in & setting up a large rug, to adjusting an exercise machine & helping me figure out some issues with electrical outlets. I loved my new home when he was finished with it! It was close to closing time when I called but decided to give it a shot as I needed a door installed ASAP. To my surprise, Dorian answered the phone. I let him know what I needed and he even came that same night after hours to do a consultation. Once he assessed, and understood the urgency he sent a quote that night, and made an appt that same week to install the door/door frame. He sent me all my options and picked everything up at Home Depot for me so I didn't have to move a finger. Dorian answered texts promptly, was very careful with his work, and kept me updated throughout the day on progress/issues he found when installing my door. While he was working he listened to my needs and customized the door to what I needed. At the end of the job he even offered to fix some messed up door locks in the house that my sister mentioned weren't working properly, free of charge. Everything was a seamless process from start to finish. You can tell Dorian takes pride in his work and it shows. I would highly recommend Dorian and the Handyman team for your needs.
