Both of our dogs are rescues. Cali has pretty bad separation anxiety, and Willow is a obsessive chewer, so it's just not a good idea to leave them home alone, and we refuse to board our dogs or use doggy daycares, as they feel safer and more comfortable in their own home, so pet sitters are the best option for us. Kristy was kind, definitely a dog lover, and hung out with them for a few hours, and both of our dogs were happy as could be when we got home. It looked like they were all watching a movie together when we arrived. :) Very relaxed and in good spirits. We were pleased with the service, and so were our dogs!

She seems…read moreangry when she refuses to assign me my requested sitter, and as a boss talks bad about the sitters I love. Her favorites aren't mine. I've told her this but i keep getting her favorites. I don't want them in my house anymore. I have learned not to patronize such places once this starts to happen. Julie will also double book and even triple book, and i heard she tells sitters to put priority on dogs and do cats after. Sometimes my 9:00 cat appointment gets pushed to 10:15 because of her scheduling problems. I'm going with the many, many local sitters who do even better jobs and they are invested in our neighborhood cats. Julie being "bonded" means nothing but she says that's her strength. Ok.

House of Hounds has always been accommodating to boarding her when we need. The have food available for boarded dogs if you forget to pack food for your pup (which I may or may not have done ). There are many different dogs of all sizes that get to play at house of hounds. Puppy play care is pretty popular there and you can watch your dog play at house of hounds online while they are there. They have various packages available from puppy care to grooming packages. They also offer discounts for boarding if you board multiple dogs. As with any place that allows dogs, having your pet spayed or neutered is always appreciated or you are boarding your pet at its own risk. We absolutely love that we found house of hounds and are so thankful that they love our Gracie girl!

I was really hoping to like House of Hounds. After two boardings I can say that we will never go…read moreback. On both boardings there was absolutely no communication. I signed up with the video cam and checked daily for proof of life. It would be really nice to get updates of daily activities as well as additional services paid for; i.e. walks, hikes, kong treats, etc...we got nothing. In addition, when we picked up our dog on the second boarding I had to ask for the blanket I left with our dog. When they brought it out they said that the blanket got wet from a water dish while our dog was playing with a toy in the kennel. When I got home I discovered that the blanket was actually soaked in urine. It makes me so sad to think that my dog had no choice other than to relieve himself on the blanket...something he would never do. On the first boarding, his dog bed was wet but I chalked it up to a kong treat he might have gotten. I normally do not write reviews but was so disappointed with the care that my dog got that I felt compelled to share. This place came highly recommended to me...unfortunately I can't say the same.

I was especially anxious as I have 5 dogs, two of the dogs have cancer, and one very elderly dog. My old dog Spike got very sick and Pixie immediately got in touch with me and took him to the vet. When he got worse the next day she immediately took him to the ER vet. Spike had to be put to sleep as he was failing...Pixie went back to the vet and held him while he passed away. Her true love of dogs comes through in everything she does... Your dogs will be in the very best hands with Pixie!
