I opted for the Birria tacos plate which consists of 3 soft tacos filled with slow roasted steak and served with a thick, hearty beef broth for dipping. Flavorful and just right with the spices. The stuffed peppers are delicious, the salsa cilantro-forward, the rice and beans were also good. The chips were standard, solid enough. My friend had the carnitas and they looked perfectly cooked, he really enjoyed them. My wife had a grilled chicken and rice plate that she liked. We saw several menu items we'd like to try on a return visit. Service was friendly, seating plentiful, and prices very fair. Based on my most recent visit, either that last visit was an outlier or Acapulco is on the upswing again. The menu is standard but there are some goodies to be found and from what I can tell they do the standards well. The salsa is solid and if you're not a cilantro fan it doesn't taste as if that's present. The house-made hot sauce is delicious though--order some and mix it in with the salsa to give it a kick or if you like it really spicy, try it straight. I had the carnitas this time around and they were delicious--slow cooked, flavorful, juicy, simple and straightforward. They served them with fresh soft tortillas so I was able to assemble 3 tacos with fresh pork, guacamole (served on the platter), fresh tomatoes, and some of that house hot sauce. I also added a tamale on the side to see how they did those, and it was a larger tamale than expected but very good and slathered in red sauce AND queso. My dining partner had a very complicated and picky order and they handled her requests perfectly. The service was super-friendly--fast, kind, efficient. They checked on us often (but not overbearingly) and even provided freebies! I mentioned last time it felt like it could use a clean-up and some lighting--this time around, everything was well lit and clean, and the bathrooms were spotless. While I didn't partake, I noticed the happy-hour sign on the way to he rest room and it's ridiculously cheap ($3 mugs of import beer, 2 for 1 margaritas, $4 tequila sunrise, etc.).
